Chattanooga Rejects Becoming The Next Detroit...

Well, well, well, looks like the good folks of Tennessee get it.

In a recent vote the workers at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga told the UAW to take a hike.

Not being from Tennessee I don't claim to know a lot about the particulars of this vote or even the thinking behind it.

However it's pretty clear (to me anyway) that the people of Chattanooga aren't the least bit interested in seeing their city becoming the next Detroit.

They understand perfectly well how the UAW and other unions along with their corrupt Democrat supporters have turned a once prosperous major American city into an American nightmare.

And it looks like they understand that unions have become nothing more than an extension of the Democrat Party.

American Freedom: 1

Blood Sucking Democrat Loving Unions: 0

Maybe there's hope for us yet...

  5. Stan... Feb 16. 2014 Kevin I will keep this on the front burner when I can, I think are Troops are being put on the back burner, and some of them are from Detroit, so I am on subject :):)

U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan have skyrocketed under President Obama. Since 2009, 73 percent of all U.S. deaths in the country have taken place, amounting to 27.1 fatalities per month, on average. Billy and Karen Vaughn, Gold Star parents of Special Operations Chief (SEAL) Aaron Vaughn who was killed in action in 2011, are speaking out about why.

U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan are now forced to fight a two-fronted war. Before each deployment, these soldiers understand fully that day after day they will do battle against relentless terrorists with shifting loyalties and unspeakable hatred. But what none of them could have foreseen was the killing field that would open from their rear: the Continental United States.
Our government’s incessant tightening of already restrictive ROE (Rules of Engagement), compounded by the failed COIN (Counterinsurgency) strategy—also known as “winning hearts and minds”—has made an otherwise primitive enemy formidable.

Our best and brightest come home in body bags as politicians and lawyers dine over white linen tablecloths; writing, modifying, and re-modifying these lethal rules. Rules that favor the enemy rather than the American soldier. Rules so absurd they’re difficult to believe until you hear the same stories over and again from those returning from battle.

  7. URGENT ACTION ALERT: Alarmingly, the non-farming North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, has received farm subsidies since 1998 – and it isn't the only Shariah-spewing group to BENEFIT AT YOUR EXPENSE!

Being granted $10,000 is PEANUTS given our $17 TRILLION national debt. But much more significant is WHY the terror-tied NAIT is funded by 34 different federal programs, including the $10,000 subsidies for the two non-farmed "agricultural" lands… and WHY CONGRESS ISN'T DOING 'PEANUTS' TO STOP ANY OF IT!

    1. catsncats.....no shock that...his imperialness has been doing Ramadan dinners every fall for the past five years, entertaining brotherhood members in the white house, purging the generals in the pentagon, etc. his brothers are largely responsible, too, for the military's changing their training manuals and policies to be more "sensitive" to islam and the terrorist attack on fort hood speaks for itself, in terms of where the loyalties of the regime and its appointees lie. add to that a congress that has been either paid off or muzzled...we are living in a post-constitutional era and even more frightening is that Obama is lawless. other people seem to think they are, as well.

  8. And a little more to that,

In keeping with Obama's vow of 2012 that "the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam," the Obama administration has aggressively been promoting a global zone of special "no criticism" protection for Islam. Muslim Brotherhood groups and Islamic supremacists now have an administration actually working with them to impose Shariah, the authoritarian system of Islamic oppression, on the U.S.

Remember also in May, Obama's Justice Department announced in an out-of-the-way corner of Tennessee its intention to criminalize free speech on social media posts that Muslims claim are offensive. "Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society" featured Bill Killian, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and Kenneth Moore, special agent in charge of the FBI's Knoxville Division.

Sponsored by American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee – Killian and Moore explained how civil rights statues would be enforced by the Obama administration against who post "inflammatory" statements targeting Muslims on social media.

"This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion," Killian was quoted saying. "This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are."

We are seeing creeping Shariah enforcement right here in America in our military, in our government and in our media under the pressure of political correctness that cares only for Muslims, as it targets Christians as categorical perpetrators of discrimination. Fort Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan has been PROTECTED and catered to under criminal charges of WORKPLACE VIOLENCE after murdering fourteen U.S. citizens (including an unborn baby) in the name of Allah! We have seen the producer of an anti-Islam YouTube video – the equivalent of a Saturday Night Live spoof in all its lack of seriousness – speciously CONDEMNED for the Benghazi terror attack and JAILED while this administration holds no Muslims accountable!

Dare call out radical Islam for what it is, and YOU'RE THE INTOLERANT BIGOT!

    ReplyDelete
  9. P.S. Islamism aggression and Shariah pose a threat to America's survival as a constitutional republic in an insidious fashion no penetrating alien ideology has ever posed before. In fact, through Islamic Shariah law, every last vestige of your freedom – and that of your children – could be stripped from you and shackles of bondage clamped upon your wrists. Now is the time to stand … now is the time to act. Or at the least Be Prepared.

President Barack Obama has so ignored the principles of the Constitution that Americans are now living under a government of tyranny.

T]he Constitution creates a government that reflects the principles given to us in the Declaration of Independence. It can only survive and can only carry us into the future if you have people that believe in those principles … and protect the separation of powers.

What we have now is a president who has accelerated the progressive movement that started back with Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson … to such an extent that I now can tell you that we’re living under a government of tyranny.

When you have a president that is cruel and unfair to the people using his powers to undermine the Constitution of the United States in order to create a … monarchy within the presidency, and ignores the Congress or the judicial branch, you have tyranny.

    1. Very funny, sargejr. We spent a week in Dearborn, MI. A suburb or Detroit last fall. One of the church group trips we did was a tour of 2 soup kitchens run by one of our local churches. A tour that was guided by the pastor of the church and the treasurer of the church both of which were ccl and carrying. Both hubby and I also were carrying, on their suggestion. The city looked like a war zone. The soup kitchens both had had violent incidences in the previous two months. Tennessee was smart. FG57

I commend Tennessee for the victory of common sense. It gives me hope for the future.

  23. Incase you missed it. Friday, it has been posted by others also, but worth keeping on the front page.

Workers at a Volkswagen factory in Tennessee have voted against union representation in a devastating defeat for the United Auto Workers union's effort to make inroads in the South.

The 712-626 vote released late Friday was surprising for many labor experts and union supporters who expected a UAW win because Volkswagen tacitly endorsed the union and even allowed organizers into the Chattanooga factory to make sales pitches.

"This is like an alternate universe where everything is turned upside down," Cliff Hammond, a labor lawyer at in Detroit, told The Wall Street Journal, noting that companies usually fight union drives.

"This vote was essentially gift-wrapped for the union by Volkswagen," said Hammond, who previously worked at the Service Employees International Union.

The setback is a major defeat for the UAW's effort to expand in the growing South, where foreign automakers have 14 assembly plants, eight built in the past decade, said Kristin Dziczek, director of the labor and industry group at the Center for Automotive Research, an industry think tank in Michigan.

"If this was going to work anywhere, this is where it was going to work," she said of Chattanooga.

Organizing a Southern plant is so crucial to the union that UAW President Bob King told workers in a speech that the union has no long-term future without it.

"If the union can't win [in Chattanooga], it can't win anywhere," Steve Silvia, a economics and trade professor at American University who has studied labor unions, told the Journal.

But the loss likely means the union will remain quarantined with the Detroit Three, largely in the Midwest and Northeast.

Many viewed VW as the union's only chance to gain a crucial foothold in the South because other automakers have not been as welcoming as Volkswagen. Labor interests make up half of the supervisory board at VW in Germany, and they questioned why the Chattanooga plant is the only one without formal worker representation. VW wanted a German-style "works council" in Chattanooga to give employees a say over working conditions. The company says U.S. law won't allow it without an independent union.

In Chattanooga, the union faced stern opposition from Republican politicians who warned that a UAW victory would chase away other automakers who might come to the region.

Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee was the most vocal opponent, saying that he was told that VW would build a new midsized SUV in Chattanooga if workers rejected the union. That was later denied by a VW executive. Other politicians threatened to cut off state incentives for the plant to expand if the union was approved.

“I’m thrilled for the employees and thrilled for our community,” Corker said in a telephone interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I’m sincerely overwhelmed.”

"The UAW had all the advantages," the Republican senator told the newspaper. "Everybody but the UAW had both hands tied behind their backs. I’m just thankful the employees made the decision they made."

  26. A company and its employees proactively supporting lower energy consumption and green solutions that will save the company money and provide more jobs for American people without the government making them do it. According to the Libocraps that's virtually impossible, because corporations never do the right thing without government stepping in and making them do the right thing.

NY City has a communist for a mayor; its governor is no better. Chicago with the godfather speaks for itself with him in charge. we have a bunch of ruling elites in both parties who insulate themselves within their bubble, make policy to benefit themselves at the expense of America and the Constitution. the imperial ruler and his queen think nothing of lavish parties at our expense, not to mention vacations on our dime.
just finished reading Agenda 21, that fiction novel by Beck, based on the real thing, with its planned communities and earth worship...it's frightening as well. people jammed into compounds and disappearing when they are no longer "useful" to the collective.
all the more reason to Be Prepared, unless we can somehow turn this mess around. even if it means barely surviving in order to do so, I'd rather risk that than lose our way of life.

    1. Two years ago my husband, a farmer with me for 36 years, accepted a call to a Lutheran church 45 miles from our farm. He had been taking seminary classes for two years and had planned to do pulpit supply for area churches, lease our cow herd out and just farm and do pulpit supply. Long story short, the first church that he did pulpit supply for asked him to interview, not in our plans. We did and they called him. He completed his seminary got ordained and certified in the LCMC and the NALC and he is a full time pastor for that small town Lutheran church. So, hubby left the farm and I stayed on as manger/operator with our nephew taking my husbands place and now after this summer he will be the operator with me the help. After farming for 38 years not being the operator will be different, but there is plenty to do with hubby as he is also the Jr. Hi. girls volleyball and B-ball coach, next year I plan to be the ass. coach. We have a very active church with twice a week adult Bible studies, twice a month youth Bible studies and monthly youth group meetings along with special community Bible studies that our church co-hosts, mid-week Lent and Advent services, funerals, weddings and I also accompany the local Jr/Sr. Hi choirs. So, the last year I really only helped do the cattle during winter calving, weaning, working and putting to grass, I helped during planting and harvest along with hauling grain, Hubby does do some grain hauling we both enjoy trucking in that limited way. Most of our grain goes to Salina or beans to the plant in Wichita. Oh and I also do my least favorite thing of the bookkeeping for two corporate farms and one partnership, yuck!!! Hubby still does the hedging and marketing but nephew is learning, I think that part of the operation is the most difficult and has the most potential for great loss or gain. After this summer I will be only a preacherswife that does help on the farm. Sad in a way, but the life that God called us to has been rich in blessings beyond belief! Long story, I think my husbands preaching is contagious. :) FG57
