Random thoughts

So how about this big Boy Scout controversy? Seems the lefties hate the idea that the Boy Scouts cheered our President and booed the crooks and people who hate America. Seems OK to me. And all the same people who are ranting and raving about how horrible this is are the same people who are trying to destroy the Scouts by integrating sexual deviants into their ranks and removing their Christian ties which go back to their founding. So frankly, I don't care what they think.

What's everybody think about this Topeka Mayoral race? I don't know much about the candidates at this point. I guess it's not that important, we have a weak Mayor system. The Mayor is more of a figurehead, really. Doesn't vote. Doesn't really do much. I think it's more of a springboard for people who have higher political aspirations than anything else.

At least a couple of them are big downtown redevelopment backers it looks like. One of them owns property downtown. A sad little restaurant that looks closed when it's open, frankly. And I think he owns some other property. He probably sees big bucks pouring in when they get this hotel built that will probably be bankrupt in five years. So I think he probably is hoping to cash in and wants to be Mayor to steer money his way.

Another one I don't know about, but she is the leading fundraiser. And I see her signs all over downtown so I'm just guessing her money is coming from a small group of developers who own the entire downtown and have gotten rich destroying it by tearing down historical old buildings and putting up eyesores. That's a pretty small group and frankly I don't trust any of them. They wrecked downtown and now they are extorting taxpayer money to try to build a bunch of new crap. I think anything and everything these guys do is to benefit them. And if they are backing a candidate it's because she is promising to steer money their way.

Of course these are just my opinions. And honestly I haven't spent a ton of time on this issue. I just spend a lot of time downtown and have been disgusted with all this crap they have done.

They built a bunch of fountains and statues and repaved the sidewalks under the pretense that would bring back the people to downtown. But the people didn't stop going downtown because there weren't enough statues and fountains. They stopped going downtown because there is nothing there. Nothing but panhandlers and crazy people walking around and a guy dancing with a lamp screaming obscenities at passers by. And that ain't drawing crowds.

So I'd be interested in what anybody else thinks. Not big national significance, but I'm still wondering.

So feel free to comment on whatever. This isn't the Urinal, we talk about whatever the hell we want to on this blog so no such thing as "on topic" or "off topic" around here. Just thought I'd bring up something local for a change.

And thanks to Kevin for posting the videos. Take a look at those and then listen to the godless left screeching about the Boy Scouts. Singing praises to the great leader Chairman Mao is what that was. Boy Scouts cheering our President is what Boy Scouts do. Big difference.

    If there is one thing I really hope to see before I leave this realm, it is the takedown and complete exposure of that sick, destructive ideology called "progressivism".

  9. I think the new way to campaign for Mayor is don't take any public positions that can be tied to you. Hold a forum on some night nobody knows about in some location nobody knows about until afterward.

    I'm sure if I spent the time and effort I could find out more about these people but frankly I don't know if it even matters. Topeka is one big crony run city. Doesn't matter who gets elected to what, the same little group of developers run the show.

    So you invent yourself some slogan that says nothing. "A New Way Forward". Change for Topeka".

    I really thing whoever has the most memorable slogan and campaign signs wins.

  11. Pretty much what I figured as far as the Topeka election goes. We should have never gotten rid of the Commission form of government in the first place. Look at our streets. Our water service. Can anyone imagine Chuck Wright or Jack Alexander letting things get to this point?

    There aren't going to be many trans people in the military to begin with. But I can imagine they won't exactly foster discipline in the ranks. So Trump's probably right.

    Where he isn't right is how the A.G. is being treated. Sessions held a lot of the family values right to support a libertine Republican. He deserves better than he's getting, regardless of your opinion of his positions. Trump needs to grow up. And now would be a good time to start.

    Of course the Pres is in the right with the BSA. Myself, I was an indifferent scout. A bunch of my merit badges were really just handed to me as I had completed 4-H projects on the subjects. I ended up dropping scouts, as the 4-H took up a lot of my time. I do recommend 4-H without reservation.

    But keeping it real, ANYTHING the President does is going to be savaged by the MSM. I don't even watch news anymore. It's "Yadda Yadda Trump" "Yadda Yadda Russia" "Yadda Yadda Polls". When I don't even need my Never-Erring Ouija Board to predict what the news will lead off with, why listen? 98.3 is much more pleasant to listen to.

    2. Jim, that would mean that 1 in 85 service personnel are trans. I think that's sort of high.

      Indeed if it were actually true it may change my opinion - that many people cannot be purged at once.

    Those assholes are spitting out lie after lie, and since there are zero comments over there, now, there is no way for anyone at all to expose their deception.

    They claim that John Boner's statement that Obamacare isn't going away is golden, and that because nearly everyone opposed the severely-flawed BCRA flim-flam...including most Republicans, it means that even Republicans want Obamacare to stay, with just a few minor tweaks.

    "Each of these polls revealed that a substantial proportion of Americans want Congress to address problems with Obamacare but keep the overall structure intact."

    NO! A LARGE portion of conservatives opposes what Congress is doing because we want Obamacare repealed completely...LIKE WE WERE PROMISED!!

    A shitty poll of 1000 people.

    Here's from USA Today, third paragraph (Suffolk Poll...look it up):

    "But the dilemma for the GOP is this: Eight in 10 Republicans support repeal, and close to a third say the law should be repealed even if a replacement health care plan isn't ready yet."

    Y'know...I don't even know why "replace" should be involved? The government has absolutely no Constitutional authority to enact "health care", and has absolutely no Constitutional responsibility to be involved, in the first place!!

    Just "REPEAL" the whole damned thing, and get the hell out of our way!!!😠

  26. Good for Trump and the military. I want my tax dollars going to men and women who aren't "confused" and know why they are there. Not to some whack-jobs who join to try to get free surgery, or to "make a point", and to cause chaos and resentment amongst those who need to keep their wits at all times, and to rely on each others' mental stability, inasmuch as they can.

    If accepting someone, and then they want taxpayer-funded "surgery" to "make them feel better about who they think they are"...what's next? That is an "elective surgery", not a life-saving procedure.

    So, we expand it out, then...to "make me feel better about myself....whaaaaa!"?

    Taxpayers pay for boob implants? Hair restoration? Penis enlargement?

    All personal elective stuff.

    Just like a "tranny overhaul".

    "But...but...you paid to make THEM feel better about themselves! We deserve the same!"

    And, yes...I'm sure the vast majority of our service people would not stoop to that. But...always a few, and a few is all it takes to wreck the system.

    No. Just avoid yet another slippery slope.

  29. Nothing makes me happier than seeing President Trump reversing all the damage obama did to our military. This crap of using our military for some kind of social experiment platform was dangerous and crippling our readiness. The real Commanders hated it but those who spoke out were fired so they just kept quiet and tried to persevere.

    obama hated our military (along with the rest of everything that made America great again). He and the women who his handlers did everything they could to weaken and cripple it. Welcoming mentally ill people into our military is done for the sole purpose of weakening it.

    Interesting thought. They continually talk about taking the second amendment right to keep and bear arms from people they define as "mentally ill". Which is just another sham to disarm everybody they can under any pretense they can find. But now they are in a complete meltdown because President Trump wants to keep mentally ill people out of our military where they would have access to military grade weapons. Real military grade weapons, not the left's fantasy of what that means.

    Seems a little inconsistent to me.

    And yes, being born a man but believing yourself to be a woman is a mental illness. Right along with believing yourself to be a cat or a dog or Napoleon. And no, we don't need mentally ill people in our military. They can serve me two scoops of butter brickle in a waffle cone. They can't serve in the finest fighting force the world had ever known. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

    1. It isn't just the social experiments which have hurt the military. Theoretically our military is trained for offensive military operations. The reality is that since 2004 we've been trained in occupation missions. Now that's fine, well and dandy if you're talking about having already won a war.

      How well is that gonna wash against North Korea or Iran? I omit China because I hope to God we're smart enough not to get into it with THEM.

      Let our military be used for what it was meant for. Policing and social work don't fit into that.

  32. Here's another good read - from the Quay County Sun (Tucumcari, New Mexico).

    There will be no Trump impeachment by Rube Render, columnist.

    For whatever reason, the term “impeachment” has been making a regular appearance in the media since Jan. 21.

    Democrats on the far left, alas I repeat myself, have the strange idea that if Donald Trump is impeached, Hillary Clinton will become president. They get this from reading blogs created by people who have never read the United States Constitution and the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 as subsequently amended to include the newly created cabinet offices.

    A review of the succession list will indicate that there is no provision to place in office, “persons who have lost one or more presidential elections.”

    During the Obama administration, no matter how hard they tried, Republicans could not stamp out the idea that they planned to impeach the president. No senior Republican leader — including House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell nor Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus — ever called for Obama’s impeachment.

    On the other hand, Representative James Clyburn, third ranking Democrat in the house said, “There will be some reason found to introduce an impeachment resolution.”

    Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wrote in a fund-raising letter that a Republican House and Senate could “waste months of our lives on impeachment.”

    Before Trump was elected president, foreign officials were being assured by Clinton operatives that Trump would be impeached. Evelyn Farkas, a deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia in the Obama administration, spoke at the annual Warsaw Security Forum in 2016 and predicted Trump’s removal from office, “pretty quickly.” Farkas stated in full that, “We need an absolute repudiation of everything. All of the policies that Donald Trump has put out there. I am not afraid to be political. I am not hiding who I am rooting for. And I think it’s very important that we continue to press forward until election day and through election day to make sure that we have the right results. Actually, if Donald Trump were elected I believe he would be impeached pretty quickly or somebody else would have to take over government.”

    Even before Trump was inaugurated, Georgia Democrat John Lewis told NBC News that, “I don’t see this President-elect as a legitimate president.”

    And finally, Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters is joined by Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas wailing for a Trump impeachment. Green called for the impeachment of Trump on the floor of the House of Representatives.

    Donald Trump will not be impeached. Donald Trump will not quit. Donald Trump will be re-elected in 2020.

    ~~~~~~~
    I applaud this columnist for his support for President Trump - so much so, I'm putting it here so that others across America can read it too.
    ReplyDelete
  33. I wish something would get done and some of those big promises kept. All Trump has time to do is be on the defense on a multitude of attacks- even within his own cabinet. All these egos are clashing too much, combine that with evil liberals disruptive agenda, well you have a mess.
    Maybe it's time to start a revolt, revolution, whatever you want to call it and have the "people" once again govern? NOw all we have is out of touch multi millionaires, entitle families......... running things from Topeka to Washington D.C. It is not a government of the people for the people!
  34. I'm growing really weary of all the infighting etc and that includes the president's thin-skinned reactions. I recall him saying early on that he wanted a cabinet and advisors of differing opinions which made sense at the time. So if that's what the man wanted then why cop an attitude when they differ with him on something? Loyalty matters and you can still be loyal even when stating a differing opinion.
    Read fsomething yesterday that Tillerson has not been allowed to fill agency positions in his office because the white house insists on having final say and has turned down a number of his appointments.
    Plus the Obama holdovers.
    Plus the Kushners. Smacks of nepotism imho, even though they're not on any payroll.
    I can support him when he makes a good decision but not when he behaves like a bull in a china shop...sorry but that's my take.
    Reason? Piece references a WSJ story that says too many parents have convinced their children that such work is "demeaning" and so off they go to be snowflakes on campus...then graduate and live in Mommy and Daddy's basement, unemployed.
    Actually, skilled trades and steady work has potential of turning a jailbird into a hard working, responsible and productive member of the community...a skill like that is valuable and a young offender with a good trade may not want to end up back in jail.
    Wonder if the snowflakes will start protesting and whining about "not fair!" about that now?
    Hell, if I were a building contractor I'd give an ex-offender a chance...screwing up and ending up back behind bars would be a deterrent. But some whiny snowflake??? Probably start demanding work comp for a fricking blister. Nothankyou.
    http://cjonline.com/opinion/columns/2017-07-28/michael-bloomberg-trump-s-dishonorable-transgender-ban
    Hey, Bloomer..."dishonorable" you are to your rotten core. And not one penny should be diverted from medical care from other military personnel (of taxpayer money) to spend on someone's ELECTIVE surgery or post-op treatments or complications from those procedures.
    Not ONE PENNY. If they are allowed in the military, at all, then EVERY PENNY of anything medically-related to them deciding they are what they ain't should come from THEIR OWN pockets, and not the taxpayers'.
    We have scarce enough resources to care for our men and women who have very, very serious injuries. Missing limbs, mangled bodies and faces. SERIOUS injuries gotten while doing their duty.
    And you idiots want to divert those precious resources to someone to do a phony and completely voluntary sex-change operation, and all the expensive treatment ensuing?! WTF is wrong with you people?! (BTW, Bloomer...changing "parts" and injecting hormones does NOT change a person's DNA. A male is still a male, and a female still a female).
    "Estimates put the additional medical cost (of trannys) at about $8 million-about one-thousandth of 1 percent of the military budget".
    Oh...WELL, then! By all means! The veterans who are having trouble getting their new artificial legs shouldn't mind THAT! Maybe they can just do with a cheaper model? Y'know...to save money to spend on people who deny their DNA, and CHOOSE TO VOLUNTARILY suck up those taxpayer dollars meant to medically serve those who have sacrificed?!
    "Only a small percentage of them will seek care that could affect their ability to deploy."
    Well...no PROBLEM! Ain't one bit fair to those who DO deploy...but what the hell? The tranny's "feelings" are the most important consideration here, right?
    Some will join JUST to access to "free taxpayer-funded care", and the taxpayers will be on the hook forever for whatever inevitable complications...physically and emotionally, will come up.
    Hey...Bloomer! You speak of "dishonorable"? THAT...YOU MORON...is the epitome of "dishonorable".
    ReplyDelete
  63. How about this, BloomingIdiot?
    We allow them in. But..not ONE PENNY goes to a tranny overhaul. Not one cent goes to ANYTHING related to maintenance or complications related to their VOLUNTARY procedure, even if they had it done prior.
    They get injured, or have any other normal malady, then fine. They're covered.
    And...if they miss ONE MINUTE of ANY time, and especially miss a deployment, related to their VOLUNTARY PROCEDURE?
    They are out, dishonorable discharge. With ALL benefits pulled.
    If they make it through, and did their duty...they get treated like any other. Like any other means "normal" medical...like any other. And NOT draining taxpayer money meant for "normal medical" on ongoing, expensive maintenance and/or complications from a VOLUNTARY procedure. Why should they get "special benefits"?
    That sounds fair. Just have them sign off on it, so they know it.
    Then, let's see how many are still willing to insert themselves into this?😉
    ReplyDelete
  64. I saw that shit early this morning and figured you'd have something to say about it.
    Well done, my friend...
    ReplyDelete
  65. Just pointing out the obvious, Kev.
    We keep letting a very small minority of idiots foist this kind of crap on us, and there is only one reason they do it.
    The liberals and Dems don't give a crap about ANYONE they pretend to. They especially don't care about who gets hurt, or how much damage they do to our country.
    That IS their goal. And too many citizens can't see beyond what THEIR own selfish, greedy asses have been promised "for free" (that is tanking us, and them)...and they keep believing all this "feel-good" liberal shit.
    I vote "no" to trannys in the military, for logical reasons of expense, readiness and troop morale. And "special rights" given a very few WILL generate animosity, and be a detriment to morale. For what?
    Just to piss off "the majority". That's ALL it's about.
    So...fair enough that if they ARE allowed in...absolutely NO taxpayer funding of a procedure or maintenance resulting from an ultra-expensive voluntary, elective decision should be allowed.
    It's not fair to everyone else.
    It's just that simple.
    Pisses me off.
  68. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jul/27/house-republicans-seek-special-counsel-hillary-cli/
    House Republicans demand special counsel to investigate Clinton, Obama officials
    I guess it’s better late than never – though I feel the ‘House Republicans’ should have insisted on this prior to President Trump’s Inauguration…. But Washington has been known for ‘dragging their heels.’
    Are the Democrats and Democratic National Committee corrupt? Answer: do dogs pee on fire hydrants? There’s corruption in the Republican party too. There’s too much whispering and tongue wagging (i.e. gossip) that both political parties are guilty of. One thing remains the constant though – the media can’t get enough of Washington’s dysfunctional relationship. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that dysfunctional relationships are doomed to failure. Things are looking a tad bleak unless those elected officials get their heads dislodged to where they can focus on real issues.
    Washington (both Dems and some Republicans) are too drunk in their hatred of President Trump so much so that they’ve literally wasted precious time in their witch hunts, drumming up gossip to see how far they’ll get with it, etc. There’s some Republicans who may as well make it official and call themselves Democrats because that’s who they’re aligning themselves with! All in all, they are using President Trump as a crutch so they don’t have to get any work done in Washington. What a lazy bunch of sorry jerks they are!
    Just like what’s written in the opinion by Rube Render, columnist for the Quay County Sun – “Donald Trump will not be impeached. Donald Trump will not quit. Donald Trump will be re-elected in 2020.” I'm glad that Rube Render wrote that.
    In Ohio the other day when our First Lady introduced President Trump, in her speech she said, "Washington has fought him every step of the way, but I know my husband and he will never give up."
  69. Consider this if you will. The ten commandments. How does the godless left feel about them?
    1.You shall have no other gods before Me.
    2.You shall not make idols.
    3.You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
    4.Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
    The first four are regarding God and His relationship to his creation. We pretty much know how they feel about that.
    5.Honor your father and your mother.
    Live in their basement and drain their savings to support you until you are thirty five or so. Live the lifestyle you choose as they slowly go broke.
    6.You shall not murder.
    Kill God's unborn creations as you please, for convenience and to please yourself and not have to live with the consequences of your acts.
    7.You shall not commit adultery.
    Commit sexual perversion, homosexual sex and any other kind of adultery that pleases you. And demand that Christians accept your perversions and even support them.
    8.You shall not steal.
    Take money from those who earn it and pass it among those who don't. Call it income inequality instead of theft which is what it actually is.
    9.You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
    Lie every day in your media, lie about everybody who holds different views than you. Lie about your President continually. Lie about everything you choose to advance your unholy agenda.
    10.You shall not covet.
    Demand those who have things you do not have give you ever growing portions of what they have earned. Call it "fair". Say everybody who has worked hard and accumulated for their family "isn't paying their fair share" and take what they have earned.
    That should explain it.
  86. And, now...today's edition of "Urinal: The Suicidal Death Of A Newspaper, And How Progressive Liberalism Killed It."
    Yet another truly despicable far-left propaganda hate-fest from 'the editors' at that communist-censored failing little liberal rag...the Urinal.
    http://cjonline.com/opinion/editorials/2017-07-28/editorial-news-isn-t-all-bad-kansas
    "Editorial: The news isn’t all bad for Kansas"
    "Our most prominent politicians have been disappointing, but there are reasons to be hopeful"
    They start by viciously bashing Kobach, Brownback and Moran, and, basically, any conservative policies.
    Then, the "hopeful news" is more bashing, and the applauding of devastatingly foolish Medicaid (welfare) expansion, voting in of "moderates and Democrats" (liberals, all), the Urinal's backing of Obamacare as is, their opposition to protecting the integrity of of our voting system, and their support of job-killing higher taxes.
    Pure Socialist/Communist/Fascist-style propaganda, with no real means of debating them directly.
    With their latest Nazi-like decision to effectively shut down ALL comments, they have found themselves emboldened to move even further to the left, and print even more rabidly anti-Conservative rhetoric than ever before, knowing readers won't see the challenges to their lies and deception.
    They have incrementally been moving into 100% allegiance with the 100% anti-American, anti-Christian, unholy Satanic left...and have finally moved all the pieces into place to achieve complete control of the narrative, as dictated to them from their masters of evil.
    Or, maybe little Matty, the Johnson, has given them all samples of his "enhancement" snake-oil product, and got them all to test it on each other, in exchange for little Matty's complete control of printed editorials, in which all the others are also attributed?
    Well...that may have happened, but it's obvious that MOST of the others need no incentive to be Socialist/Communist/Fascist propagandists.
    "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of Hell than yourselves." - Matthew 23:15
    Woe unto the staff of the Topeka Capital-Journal.
Every so often Aldi has a brand called Parkview all beef hot dogs and they are nothing like those things offered up as hot dogs in most stores. Used to get real homemade weiners long years ago, the Czech kind. Parkview is the closest thing I've found around here. When Aldi has those I grab extra for the freezer.
  97. I think when the Mooch drags the first leaker out to the White House lawn and rips his throat out with his teeth they should give the rest of the leakers 24 hrs to fess up and name names or they get the same treatment. Leftists are basically chickenshits and will start rolling over so fast it will be hilarious.
    Once we get the leakers under control then we start on the RINOs. Pour everything into getting rid of those worthless SOBs.
    Then we are on the path to Making America Great Again!!!
  98. Just between us I am not sure about McCain's tumor, they say it was behind his eye, and shows up with a 3 inch stitched up above his eye. I will be the first out here to say I am not buying that, I am say I think something funny is going on. Just saying....Bets welcome.
  103. Hey fishbait...you following what the washerwoman and her Awans have been up to?
  104. At zerohedge: she's suspected of using a voice modulator device to make threatening calls to Beck and Lee, a law firm currently litigating a civil suit against her and the DNC. Pretty stupid huh? Of course she's denying but the number the calls were made from goes back to her office. Also, the fed has equipment able to decode those things because each human voice has a unique signature.
    Daily caller latest: she kept paying these clowns after 2 feb when they were barred from house computers. Claims she kept them on as advisors and, like her mouthpiece lawyer, is trying to claim "islamophobia"... And Awans allegedly tied to the Brotherhood as well.
    This woman is either incredibly stupid or incredibly arrogant...more likely than not, she's both.
  106. And if this harpy isn't indicted and put on trial, with charges following on every one of those who get dragged down and fingered with her regardless of party or position, then I am done with those rinning things in this country. Period.
  108. I been done with them for a long time, there are different standards for those in politics and multi millionaires. They just say things like, well it wasn't intentional, or I forgot, or my first submitted form didn't contain my 20 meetings, but it was on the second form. Really there are two standards! Seems to be fine with the FBI management?
  109. Too many computers, from too many people have already been confiscated and nothing has ever come about.
    I fear that it we won't see charges this time either.
    Will see a shit show, though.
    That's the only thing that comes out of DC.
    Starting to beleive DC is filled with the same folks, with only different labels.
    But I will say this....
    I love our president.
    I like that he calls folks out.
    Stupid people do not become billionaires.
    Who am I to judge to the methods?
    And my favorite part?
    It makes people feel uncomfortable.
    That "feeling"has been the problem all along.
    And I know this...
    I can put gas in my truck for a reasonable price to get to work.
    My table is the fullest it's been in nine years.
    There aren't enough hours in the day to complete the work load at my job.
    My days are quite busy, never been this way since 2007.
    Best thing that happened to me was Barry leaving office.
    So Tweet away President Trump...
    And we will see Congress at the midterm...
