The American Party?

There's a reason I asked our friend and fellow patriot Still Safe At Home to join me as a co-host in this little blog of ours.

And that reason is because more often than not we're on the same page.

Like most Americans we're both fed up with what's going on in this country of ours.

We're fed up with the corruption.

We're fed up with the lies.

We're fed up with a republican party that seems hell bent on destroying itself.

Anyway, in the final hours of the last blog Safe brought up what at one time I thought would be a stupid idea.

The idea of a third party.

I've always been of the opinion that the only thing a third party could accomplish would be to destroy the republican party.

But all you need to do is to look at the last 6 months to see they're already doing that by themselves.

Has the time for a legitimate third party finally arrived?

I don't know but it's a conversation worth having.

So without further ado I'm just going to post Safe's comment and let you guys take it from there...

"I think it may be time to think about a third party. This may finally be the time. Nothing says President Trump can't create a third party right now. The American Party. Announce he is no longer a Republican since they are working against him, at least some of them. And probably more than we think behind the scenes. And the democrat party has gone full on communist now, anti American attempting to overthrow our election. So what's left? Third party.

Create the party and tell those Republicans who really do want to Make America Great Again they can switch. Let the rest wallow in the swamp they love so much. Crust McCain can be their leader.

I think the time is right. I think Americans are sick of both parties. And they might just be on board for flushing that toilet that is Washington and getting rid of the turds that are stinking it up.

Maybe more on this later. Just a seed of an idea right now.

Anybody think it might be time? Seems like right before an election is a really bad time. But if the President and a bunch of patriotic Republicans do it now, might just work.

It will drive a bunch of godless left wing democrats and the godless democrat controlled media crazy. So it's worth that at least."

What say you?
Kevin McGinty

Safe if he wanted to start a 3rd party he needs to start now, I think this would be the time to do it, and the name you stated American Party sounds good.

It's now or never. The democrats are poisoning the uneducated voters and the gimmedats who want a bunch of free stuff. The rest of America has only the Republicans to turn to and the polls show they are pretty fed up with both for different reasons.

I think if they had a choice they might just take it. They are looking for someone to believe in.

We have a President who has our back and has both parties trying to destroy him to protect themselves at the expense of our country.

If we don't do something drastic the godless democrats will win this war. The lies and slander and endless fake news and made up allegations are wearing the American people down. There is a fire hose of bullshit spraying our country.

They learned their lesson from their commie and socialist teachers. Spread enough propaganda, make enough crap up and maybe there are just enough useful idiots to hand you the reigns of power.

That's how Hitler did it. And these people are already demonstrating fascism at it's finest.

It may be time for something extreme to counter this all out attack on our country.

If you split the GOP, you're going to be putting the Democrats in the saddle for the next 20 years. That's an expensive price to pay for whatever it is you're going to get out of it.

Trump has your back. Until he doesn't. Check it out with Scaramucci, Flynn, Spicer, Priebus and Sessions. We're faced with an egomaniac with a thin skin who thinks loyalty only runs one way. Not an ideal start for a third party.

Ken I don't think it will split the GOP I think it may bring most of the Gop over and a big amount of dem's plus those that may have given up on voting period. This country has many piss off people from all walks of life, but if anyone could do it it would be Trump.

  5. It sure is something that is worth talking about, I really believable the country is pissed off at both parties biggly!

  6. I could get behind a 3rd party but would leave Trump out. I dpn't think the man has a solid and deep understanding of founding principles nor the Constitution. Slogans, tweets and sound bites do not a statesman make. And, as Ken points out, he's thin skinned. Not to mention the constant drama...some of it is undeserved but some is not. Refuses to acknowledge any personal role in it.
Also I just came from reading a report on Kushner as negotiator on the Isreal-Palestinian issue...this princeling took roughly 300 rambling, incoherent statements to basically say "I don't know what to do here." So why is he still in charge?
A third party would adopt a platform, discuss fund raising, definitely security concerns etc. A huge undertaking but I'm not opposed to it.
Just don't think Trump is a true leader.
    Imho.

  7. I don't know about the rest of you, but the democrat party already seems to be in control. Can't get any legislation passed because there are enough RINOs like crusty John McCain who hate the President so much they will support the democrats rather than him.

For a party with no power they sure seem to be in control. Virtually the entire media exists to serve them now. Political Activists with a byline is what they are. The godless democrats can make up some outlandish story out of thin air, claim it's from sn "unidentified source" and the media takes off with it.

Can't even put a little dent in obamacare. You think they will be able to get any kind of meaningful tax reform done?

The only things we are seeing that are really having an impact are from Executive Action by President Trump. That's what's driving the stock market to record highs and creating jobs like we haven't seen in years. But as long as we have RINOs who hate him and will put their love of the system ahead of the country, they will stonewall him at every turn.

I think there are a hell of a lot of Americans looking for something to believe in. That's why Donald Trump got elected President. And now sentiment seems to be that wasn't even enough. That it doesn't matter what we do, the swamp will never be drained.

Third party might just give a few legislators a chance to walk away from the swamp. At least we'll know.

Look at the impact the TEA party had. It was enormous. It drove the godless left absolutely crazy. And if the swamp Republicans hadn't joined with the democrats to derail it, it might have become a force to be reckoned with. But it showed there are millions of Americans who are sick of both parties.

This is something to talk about. Like Kevin, I thought the idea was death to the Republicans and a win for the godless democrats. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm not sure the Republican party can be saved. Unless I see something that proves me wrong, which I hope happens.

  8. Cats, the problem is without President Trump to build it on you have nothing. Build it on him, then take it from there. He represents change, just not always the change we want to see. But you have to kill the old party and you can only do that with a new party already alive.

The Republicans were born with Abraham Lincoln. Trump is no Lincoln, but Lincoln was no saint. Violated the constitution repeatedly. Overstepped his powers several times. Still, he was the rock they built it on.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. We have a Constitution, for one thing...and plenty to build on, such as why we fought the Revolution in the first place. A very rich history there, and flaws but also stories nobody is aware of because of revisionism. They are timeless.
I just think that we need to look at a different path to include bona fide Americans who don't want "party" but want ethics...flaws are human but ethics come from what the patriots of old held above that.

  9. The Republican Party is already split.... they did that before the National Election because some of the Republicans hated the idea that Donald Trump got on the ballot.

The Republicans who have aligned themselves with the Democrats should change their political party affiliation from Republican to Democrat - and stop parading themselves as Republican.

I'm more than fed up with the drama out of Washington but - I still feel that Hillary in the White House would have been much far worse by a astronomically larger margin.

  14. Splitting the GOP would first mean that the Dems are the largest party in the Congress (both houses), then after the next election they'd likely be in total control. If you don't like what the Congress is doing now, just wait until the Dems are in total control. There'd be plenty of drama to go around. Then there would be plenty of trauma to go around for the rest of us. Hell, Notropis couldn't ask for anything better. If Majority Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi don't scare the be-jabbers out of you, try these on for size: Committee on Financial Services - Maxine Waters; Appropriations - Nita Lowey; Oversight and Government Reform - Elijah Cummings; Judiciary - John Conyers. Hang on to your hats, folks!

Now, contrast that with: McCain makes me angry. We're not getting 100% of what we want NOW! I'll Tweet anything I want to.

But I'm sure not for splitting the GOP. The consequences would be monumental, they would be almost immediate, and they would be pernicious. Yes, Jim, I'm sure of myself here.

ACA not getting repealed is what we're getting right now. What would it be under "we've got to pass this law to find out what's in it" Pelosi. You'd be fighting tooth and nail to keep from getting Single-Payer, that's what you'd get. Indeed, I don't even think this is a point you can make a serious argument against.

Don't like the pace of tax reform now? With the Dems in charge you'd be fighting to get a "mere" 5% tax surcharge instead of the 10% one the Democratic Caucus would insist on.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

I also remember the news coverage of the selection process.

The talking heads were slobbering all over themselves as usual.

As Obama was making his pitch they were going on about how the whole thing was more or less a formality because their beloved Obama already had it in the bag.

Why not, the entire world loved him, right?

  69. Just read an article about the Inspector General auditing Obamacare..... interesting read...I am curious though.....the timing of this audit conclusion after the fact.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/aug/3/obamas-irs-misled-obamacare-customers-audit/

Obama’s IRS ‘misled’ Obamacare customers: Audit
The Obama administration “misled” Americans into thinking signing up for Obamacare would be cheaper than it really was, according to an inspector general’s report Thursday that said the IRS dramatically understated the actual cost of enrolling.

IRS officials sent the letters to try to prod Americans to comply with the 2010 health law’s “individual mandate” that penalizes them for not holding coverage.

But as part of the letters, the IRS said most people could find plans for $75 a month or less, once government subsidies were figured in.

That was untrue — in fact, the average cost was more than twice that figure, at $168 a month, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said.

“Many of the nearly 7.5 million taxpayers who receive letters and seek insurance may feel misled if the actual cost of their insurance is much higher than the $75 per month detailed in their notification letter,” the inspector general concluded.

The IRS said it was only using numbers provided by Health and Human Services, and verified by the Treasury Department. They said the $75 figure was true for some taxpayers.

The inspector general said it asked for that documentation but never received it.

Auditors said their own analysis found the HHS studies were based on a smaller sample and was limited to those who chose lower-coverage plans with fewer benefits.

According to the new audit, federal regulations require agencies to present accurate information.

Investigators uncovered the misleading information as part of a broader audit about how the IRS was handling its role in alerting Americans who aren’t complying with Obamacare’s mandate to hold insurance.

Some 19.3 million Americans ducked the Obamacare mandate in 2016, with 12.8 million claiming an exemption and 6.5 million paying the tax penalty.
The IRS was supposed to begin sending letters in June 2015 to encourage those who ducked the mandate to sign up, but the agency declined, saying it wanted to instead study behavior from Obamacare’s first full year of operations in 2014.

The agency also missed the deadline in 2016, but did send notices beginning at the end of the year.

Officials said they figured they’d get better reception if they sent them close to the time of enrollment for 2017.

Some 7.5 million letters were sent — about half in English and half in Spanish.

And finally, someone with some clout to agree with why sessions screwed up.
Recusing himself was wrong, kicked all of this to the deputy, and allowed Mueller and his nonsense. He has nothing concrete.

Now, I agree with Levin especially on the fact that they will find something. Somebody will have misspoke or contradicted an earlier statement and they will be brought out on stage for a shit show for it.

    That's my issue with Sessions.
Recusing himself showed he wasn't on board with the team.
His Russian meetings were no more deceitful than many of the democrats who met the same people.

  80. Liberals are decidedly racist. That's why they base everything on "differences" of people. (Not to mention the Dems' forever-history of slavery, Jim Crow, institutionalized welfare dependency, segregation, "affirmative racism", etc.)

Minnows don't mind that. Probably a "whitefish minnow" who hates conservative ideas like "merit", "personal responsibility", "most-qualified wins", etc. Liberals love to insult entire groups by telling them they are too stupid, weak...whatever... to compete.

It really is deplorable of the Dems to disrespect so many by telling them they are worthless...unless, of course, you vote for a Dem, and the Dem makes promises they can't and won't keep. Then, the Dems blow'em off, anyway.

This is nothing but a witch hunt courtesy rinos and their dem cohorts. Also why I dont want either party...too damn many bagmen and women in both.

Trump aside, these bastards have no business going after any duly elected president when there is no evidence of wrongdoing. Same as saying "we don't want the person the voters chose so here's what we'll do"...
And on that note I will support the man's right to hold that office unless something changes. This has gone on now for far too long and nothing there except a few bad decisions maybe...but that isn't criminal.
Clean out all the damned holdovers.
    Clean out the Priebus recommendations.

  87. Sounds good on surface, but don't believe it will work. Would only put the Dems in charge. Majority of Dems don't have clue what is happening, they are followers. Then many Repubs are really Dems and many will sell their soul to stay in office and never will stand up for what is right. Then you have the Rs and Ds that already are owned by lobbyist.

Our problems are people's moral values and that is on both sides. They have a disease called meism! Other than a Christian revival (much like for a few days after 911)or a civil war or maybe another revolutionary war I see no change. Revival would be good, but have we sunk too low, no I don't think so. The last two are bad, but history has shown them to happen. At some point in time Jesus will return and all will be settled, be ready and make your family ready. He will return, but we just don't know when. I see us living in times like Daniel did, we need to stay strong like Daniel and not cave in as many of Daniel's captured people did. The bible clearly warns us about these times and history has shown many great nations falling into oblivion doing just what is happening here.
