Be Thankful Friday...

Like just about everybody else I know I tend to take things for granted.

In our ever increasingly busy world we lose sight of the things most important to us.

We even forget the things we're most thankful for.

For me, one of the things I'm most thankful for is that this complete waste of human flesh isn't my son.

There, now I feel better.

You guys have yourselves a glorious day.

Stay safe and be well.

  3. Anyone remember the late US Rep Barbara Jordan? Dem civil rights icon from the deep south...after the Royals won, I turned the radio on to the Michael Berry show and heard an old audio of her, giving her views on immigration...very eloquently so and this lady was totally opposed to illegal entry into this country. She understood the problems with it, how it would harm the country. The speech she gave was 1995; she passed a year later.
Would that we had more democrats like her, who truly appreciated the reasons why we should be enforcing the laws on that.

  8. Remember when they made fun of and mocked Trump for saying he'd been spied on?

    I do.

Well what do you know, once again he was proven right.

Now the big question is do the republicans have the spine to actually do something about it?

    Personally, I have my doubts...

  9. Sarge, do you really drink beer first thing in the morning? If you do, how does it taste after you brush your teeth? LOL

Looking forward to cooler weather. I don't know when that will happen but I hope it happens soon. I haven't been able to take my blue heeler to the park for over a month now. Took him to the vet for his annual check up and he weighs 60 pounds!! Should weigh no more than 40. I really need to work on getting him slimmed down. He is on diet dog food but I need to change his portion size and get him on green beans for snacks instead of treats. It's my fault he has gained so much weight. But dang it, it has been too hot to run him at the park.

    Y'all have a great weekend.

  13. Good morning all! Trying to get my sleep pattern adjusted for my over-night work schedule, so am staying up.
Thing is when I sit around here this time of night, all kinds of things go through my head.
One of those things, or maybe two, that I have been thinking about is the Health care debate and the Tax Relief that has been being talked about for so long.
In my head, I am wondering why no one has brought up the possibility of changing the tax requirements so that ANY out of pocket payments made for legitimate Medical expenses including insurance premiums, co-pays, pharmacy, dental expense, etc., any verifiable medical expense, to be able to deduct them right off of the top of your gross income, not the current high percentage of your gross income which is required now to even take a medical deduction, whether you itemize or not. In my way of thinking, this would not only make many of the medical insurance plans much more affordable for all, but it would also give most of us a real tax savings that we could actually see and feel, in the form of a real tax refund after we file our taxes.
Just wondering, what you all might think about this. Even if you are retired, the premiums you pay for Plan B on your SS medicare, and any additional premiums for additional health insurance could be deducted, as well as things not covered by S.S. medicare.
The other thing I was thinking about which might sound crazy, is why don't they force the insurance companies to take the God-awful insurance deductibles that are on the front end of many policies, that in many cases make it impossible for the sick person to go to the doctor, because even if they have insurance, they can't afford the deductible; Force the insurance companies to take the deductible on the tail-end of the payment plan, so that the person will be able to at least go to the doctor and get done what needs to be done, with most of it being paid for, then getting billed in the end for the deductalbe attached to it. Does that even make any sense?
I wrote both Roberts and Jenkins e-mails suggesting these, and got a form letter back from both, thanking me for my questions....No answers, basically just Thank you and Kiss my Ass!
Anyway, in this sleep deprived mode, I am just tired of hearing all of what is "affordable" health care and what we people need for "Tax Relief" yet most of it is talk and no action!
Now, I think I am going to bed!

    1. Gary, re your tax comments: years ago when my kids were little, that used to make me crazy at tax time because active boys can mean big medical bills on occasion yet because my income even with 2 jobs fell below the threshold to claim any deduction on schedule A. I still rant about that once in awhile when I get a chance😎.
It's as though the IRS and politicians have set working people up to fail, for the benefit of gov coffers and gov control.

  14. That androgynous freak in the pic...hard to tell what IT is!😱

"White men are terrorists" wife-beater shirt?!

Lemme see...the freakazoid is about the most lily-white critter, ever! And, supposedly born a male (which means...born a male, always a male. DNA doesn't change).

Sooo...IT is out there claiming that IT is a terrorist?!😂

Ok...ok...we can understand the puny little pansy's self-loathing of IT'S shortcomings in the manhood area...but IT is STILL white!

Wonder what IT "self-identifies" as, then? A black female, with a very idiotic spray-painted red haircut? If IT is still a self-loathing male, but "identifies" as a female, but likes sex with males (non-white, of course...they're "terrorists")...is IT identifying as a black female who isn't gay because IT thinks IT is a female who likes a backdoor man (non-white, of course...they're "terrorists").

Does IT identify as a black female who likes bopping females (as if a real woman wouldn't be repulsed by IT), and considers itself, also, a lesbian? Which can't be, if IT is still (somewhat) of a male, and is porking females. That's "straight" sex! But, IT is so bent on ITS "science-denying" actuality of ITS DNA makeup that IT can twist every single thing about ITself into ITS own little fantasy, devoid of any reality.

Must be torture for IT to fight what IT is, every moment of the day, to try to force "acceptance" of what IT isn't, but wants to be?

Nice kerchief, there, IT. Comes in handy for all those tears of despair, and wiping the rivers of snot from an ever-flowing crybaby nose.

BTW, IT got another thing all confused...which isn't surprising from the level of stupidity displayed in just one pic.

The vast majority of "terrorists" in this world are a few shades darker than white!

IT, and ITs like-(feeble)minded cohorts have finally achieved a "colorblind society". They are completely blind to any evil mayhem of anyone "of color", and ONLY see evil in "white". Even where it doesn't exist.

    FU...IT!😂

That power-hungry anti-American little twit's motives cannot be trusted. Talk about more control (censorship), and they'll be the "arbiters of truth"?

He cannot be trusted. He's already got some kind of dirt, and a lot of personal info and preferences of hundreds of millions of people worldwide to manipulate and use to target people "they" don't agree with.

  19. Well, it looks like I'm back in the saddle, at least I hope so. Seems I start to feel better and I get reminded of just how damn old I am. I blame going to California for a week. That's enough to make anybody sick.

But I have been reading a great book. It's called Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell. He is a great writer who does great analysis of America.

Anyway, he is dissecting here the black culture and how it evolved. Too much to explain in a blog comment but one interesting point he makes is worth noting. Statistics show that blacks after the Civil War and Emancipation progressively grew in all measures. Economically, educationally, societally. They made tremendous improvements in literacy. Their economic system on average advanced significantly. Home ownership was growing. In other words they assimilated and began to reap the harvest of the American dream.

This all turned around about 1961 with the birth of the welfare state, a creation of the radical left. (See Cloward Pliven Strategy). Out of wedlock birth rates went through the roof. From being fairly equivalent to whites to a huge majority of births. Joblessness rose. Fathers abandoning their families and children. Crime rates among blacks rose significantly.

My point with all this racist sounding talk is what Thomas Sowell says. If a "legacy of slavery" is to blame for all the woes of the black community, why did it take a hundred years to kick in? Why was the steady progress for a hundred years then all hell broke loose? Why did the people who actually were slaves, or direct descendants of slaves, or who were directly affected by slavery manage to shake it off and join the American dream? Only now, a hundred and fifty years later are we hearing how America is a white supremacist nation and the "legacy of slavery" is holding back all the blacks who never felt the impact of slavery?

Now if all this sounds like some white supremacist manifesto or something, this is from Thomas Sowell, a highly respected economist and student of American Culture who by the way is black himself.

Just some food for thought here. You would have to read the book to get the full story, but that's just one point I took away.

And seeing the picture of this weird little critter Kevin posted just made me think of it.

    1. Yup, Safe, Sowell is a brilliant man. I have a couple of his earlier books and nobody does a better job of exposing liberals' plantation mentality towards black people than he does.
Also if you are not familiar with the story of Black Wall Street in Tulsa history, well worth checking out...true story of how corruption, hypocrisy and racism destroyed a successful and thriving black community in that city at one time. Liberals really tried to bury that one.

  39. we all know this 1st year Of President Trump year seems to be "Why isn't Congress helping him to do anything?"

Why are they sitting on their hands? We've seen a lack of action on tax reform and a refusal to confirm federal judges. Now we see it again now with immigration.

You'd think that with a Republican president and and what we thought as Republican majority in Congress, we'd see more action on reversing the detrimental impact of the Obama presidency. You'd think we would see great strides in advancing conservative policies. But we don't see Congress doing much of anything I know I have not!

Why is that? Good Grief I'll tell you why.

Because Congress is full of Establishment members who scuttle every attempt to change the status quo. They're concerned more with snappy political slogans than fighting for the security and well-being of the constituents who voted them into office they flat out lied to get in office to milk us tax payers.

Congress needs a fire lit under them to spur them to action. And I am taking notes, I don't plan on voting for anyone in office that has been there over ten years, if they can convince me by their vote they did something meaningful.

  40. Mccain is to wishy washy. He is a tool and doesn't even know it. He said he would support the governor's decision and when the governor supported the new Obamacare bill McCain changed his mind. Now he states he wants to see bipartisanship. The dems will never go for that and he knows it. I think McCain is being spiteful and petty because he is still miffed about Trumps assessment of McCain being a loser. He is also being used like a tool.

  41. The big tell-all will be tax reform which could really be a mess on account of Puerto Rico in addition to Houston and Florida, and what happens with their budget when that fight starts up again after their 3-month cr. What with Trump also wanting an elimination of the debt ceiling along with many of these clowns, I don't think it bodes well at all for we, the people...

Imho...I remain, as ever, the skeptic...

Looks like he has some good supporter.

Praised by Ann Coulter and Ben Carson, Judge Moore is the candidate of choice for Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Phil Robertson, Chuck Norris, James Dobson, Mike Huckabee, Louie Gohmert, Sarah Palin, Sebastian Gorka, Steve Bannon and a hundred other good conservatives. But like I said I don't think anyone here can vote there, but you can route for either one.

  43. Here is a perfect example: Democrats are now falling for all NFL players to kneel during the national anthem.

Yep, that’s right. They are calling for an all out disrespectful act from sport’s players, which is a slap in the face to every single man and woman who have fought for this country.

Legally, they can do what they want. It is covered under their 1st amendment right. However, they are not protected from sitting the bench, being fired, or all their fans completely boycotting the lunacy. Sports are supposed to be fun. Why bring politics into the mix? Not a smart move. What a bunch of lead fools.

    1. All of this is because Trump said that he wishes NFL owners would fire players who try to pull that trash. Trump said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now,'” he continued, “‘He is fired.'”

Trump added, “When people like yourselves turn on television and you see those people taking the knee when they are playing our great national anthem – the only thing you could do better is if you see it, even if it’s one player, leave the stadium,” he concluded, “I guarantee things will stop.”
