Impeachment 2.0...

Evidently being humiliated and made to look like the fools they are think impeaching Trump all over again is a winning strategy.

Go ahead you dumbasses.

What do ya think, Blue?

You ready for another shot at the president?

Yesterday's news, but I'm just now hearing about this....

Colleges and Universities Fail to Report Billions in Foreign Donations
An Education Department investigation triggered schools to report $6.5 billion in previously undisclosed gifts from foreign countries.

    https://www.usnews.com/news/education-news/articles/2020-02-13/colleges-and-universities-fail-to-report-billions-from-china-qatar-saudi-arabia-and-others

COLLEGES AND universities previously failed to report upward of $6.5 billion in gifts from China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and other foreign countries, an ongoing investigation by the Trump administration uncovered.

Ten schools, including Cornell University, Yale University, the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, Texas A&M University, and Carnegie Mellon University, accounted for half of that figure, disclosing $3.6 billion in previously unreported foreign gifts.

An investigation opened by the Education Department in July triggered the disclosures, which were first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

"This is about transparency," Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said in a statement. "If colleges and universities are accepting foreign money and gifts, their students, donors, and taxpayers deserve to know how much and from whom. Moreover, it's what the law requires."

Department officials announced Wednesday that they're initiating new investigations into both Harvard University and Yale University after the Ivy League schools appear to have failed to report hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign gifts and contracts.

Yale may have failed to report at least $375 million, department officials said, choosing not to report any gifts and contracts over the last four years. And in the case of Harvard, department officials said they're concerned it lacks the ability to provide rigorous oversight and tracking of foreign money – this in the wake of the indictment of the school's Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department chair for lying about his involvement with the Thousand Talents Plan, the Chinese government's overseas recruitment mission of high-level researchers and scientists.

Section 117 of the Higher Education Act requires colleges and universities that receive federal aid to report gifts from, and contracts with, any foreign source that exceed $250,000 in value and to disclose any foreign ownership or control twice each year.

Fewer than 300 of the approximately 6,000 U.S. colleges and universities report receiving foreign money each year, according to the Education Department. While the majority of that money is funneled to 50 large institutions, a 2019 report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said those schools "routinely" fail to comply with the law, describing foreign spending on U.S. colleges and universities as "a black hole."

"Unfortunately, the more we dig, the more we find that too many are underreporting or not reporting at all," DeVos said. "We will continue to hold colleges and universities accountable and work with them to ensure their reporting is full, accurate, and transparent, as required by the law."

For example, from January 2012 to June 2018, 15 colleges and universities reported receiving $15.5 million from Hanban, the headquarters of Confucius Institutes, which are schools and programs funded by the Chinese government that commonly teach language and culture but are controlled by high-ranking officials in Beijing and widely considered a propaganda machine.

But when Senate investigators requested financial records from 100 U.S. schools, it found that Hanban had actually contributed $113 million to U.S. schools during that time period – more than seven times the amount originally reported.

"The largest colleges and universities are multi-billion dollar, multi-national enterprises using opaque foundations, foreign campuses, and other sophisticated legal structures to generate revenue that is intermingled with domestic sources of funding from tuition, grants, and the like," Education Department officials told Congress in a preliminary report on the agency's investigation.

"These colleges and universities actively solicit foreign governments, corporations, and nationals for funds although some donors are known to be hostile to the United States and may be seeking to project 'soft power,' steal sensitive and proprietary research and development data and other intellectual property, and spread propaganda benefitting foreign governments," they said.

  19. Our system of government is based on the Constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.
If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. He can use the IRS as his own police force and imprison citizens who speak against him. He can provide guns and money (Fast and Furious) (Iran nuclear deal) to other countries to support his own agenda, and watch while one of America's Ambassador's is dragged through the streets and murdered doing nothing to aid our citizens. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse him. That's how the game is played. That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight.

    ReplyDelete
  20. When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren't even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries The Constitution has something to say about that. Whether it's Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can't serve in it if you're not a member. If you haven't been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren't in the club. And Trump isn't in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren't in the club with him.

Now we're seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

    That's not a free country!

It's not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an 'insurance policy' against Trump winning the election. It's not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It's not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It's not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn't supposed to win did.

Apparently, in the world they inhabit, the Marxist from Kenya set everything in motion that is happening. President Trump had nothing to do with it.

I know these people live in an alternate reality, and I know they are mentally unstable and prone to delusions, but this is completely crazy.

Dershowitz claims to have proof Obama asked FBI to investigate 'somebody on behalf of George Soros'
    by Carlin Becker | February 18, 2020 09:29 AM

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz insisted he has information showing that President Barack Obama "personally asked" the FBI to investigate someone "on behalf" of billionaire financier George Soros.

Speaking with Breitbart News in an interview that aired Sunday on SiriusXM, President Trump's impeachment attorney weighed in on the president's tweets about the case against his longtime associate Roger Stone and the Department of Justice's decision to scale back Stone's recommended sentence. Dershowitz defended the DOJ's move, which resulted in more than a thousand former department officials calling on Attorney General William Barr to resign.

"There was a lot of White House control of the Justice Department during the Kennedy administration, and I don't think we saw very many liberal professors arguing against that," he said.

"I have some information as well about the Obama administration, which will be disclosed in a lawsuit at some point, but I'm not prepared to disclose it now, about how President Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his," he continued, without naming a specific target.

Dershowitz added, "We've seen this kind of White House influence on the Justice Department virtually in every Justice Department. The difference is this president is much more overt about it. He tweets about it. President Obama whispered to the Justice Department about it. And, I don't think these 1,000 former Justice Department officials would pass the shoe-on-the-other-foot test. Maybe some of them would, but a good many of them wouldn't."

Soros, who has donated large sums of money to Democratic campaigns and social causes, has been at the center of right-leaning conspiracy theories for years, including claims that he is part of a liberal plot to control the world. Such theories have been dismissed by the Anti-Defamation League as anti-Semitic.

In December, the organization condemned unsubstantiated claims about Soros after Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal lawyer, called the mega-donor "hardly a Jew" and pushed conspiracies that he was attempting to undermine Trump on Ukraine.

"For decades, George Soros’ philanthropy has been used as fodder for outsized anti-Semitic conspiracy theories insisting there exists Jewish control and manipulation of countries and global events," the group wrote. "Mr. Giuliani should apologize and retract his comments immediately, unless he seeks to dog whistle to hardcore anti-Semites and white supremacists who believe this garbage."

Soros's Open Society Foundation also blasted Giuliani's comments as part of his "toxic campaign of misinformation and falsehood."

When pressed on his remark about Obama, Dershowitz, who is Jewish, teased details that he said would come to light "in the near future" and claimed to have a witness report on the incident.

"That's going to come out in a lawsuit in the near future, yeah. That is not unusual. People whisper to presidents all the time; presidents whisper to the Justice Department all the time. It's very common; it's wrong, whoever does it — but it's common, and we shouldn't think it's unique to any particular president," he said. "I have in my possession the actual 302 [witness report] form which documents this issue, and it will at the right time come out, but I'm not free to disclose it now because it's a case that's not yet been filed."
