  2. Good to hear from you cat,

I'm probably going to talk about local stuff from time to time that'll make zero sense to anybody but other locals, sorry about that. But there's a reason.

Here's the deal. I write a weekly column in one of our local papers, The Topeka Metro News. It's a small, privately owned, weekly paper. Our circulation is probably close to 3,500 or so a week. Like I said, it's a small paper but as far as weekly publications go. They take a back seat to no one.

Anyway this blog is just an extension of my column "Room 235" It's the same column but with the use of music, polls, photos, and images I scrounge up on the internet, I try to tell a little more of the story. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It's probably a good thing you haven't heard of Jeff Preisner up in Montana. In order for that to have happened he'd had to have made the national news somehow or another and that's not alway a good thing for a politician.

He hasn't done anything to warrant that kind of attention. He did the same thing politicians have always done. He took a cheap shot at his opponent. So I took a cheap shot at him.

I love the game of politics. But I really hate the way it always goes negative. What I want to hear from them is what are you going to do now. What are your policies? Just for the fun of it, I like to check their voting records to see if it fits what they're saying. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

    Talk to you later...

What I don't want to hear is how incompentent and evil your own opponent is.

  3. I remember when Schweitzer made the national news...it was long before he became our governor. He was bussing people into Canada so they could buy meds too expensive to get here in the states...same exact meds, same exact brands...just half the price.

We loved him for that...and it blew me away to see a Montana rancher on all the network news shows! Especially after that summer with Freemen, and then finding the unabomber holed up in his cabin.

Montana was certainly getting quite the reputation for NUTSOs.

But hey, at least our cows are sane, yeah?
