Cowardly Republicans...

Give us the House and we'll get things done, they told us.

We did.

Give us they Senate and we'll be a force to be reckoned with, they claimed.

We did.

Give us the White House and we'll be unstoppable, they chanted.

We did.

And what'd we get for it?

A bunch of frigging cowards.

I've been a die-hard, staunch republican my entire adult life.

For what?

Seriously, what's the point?

For the last 7 or 8 years these worthless bastards have campaigned on repealing and replacing Obamacare.

I understand their reluctance to vote in favor of the bill that in all reality was just another version of Obamacare.

I get it.

What I can't accept is the fact that they couldn't even come up with the votes to support the back up plan which was to simply repeal Obamacare and start all over.

Every one of these cowards voted in favor of the exact same bill in 2013 while Obama was still in office and they knew for a fact he'd veto it anyway.

So what's next?

Tax reform?

I have zero confidence in their ability to make it happen.

Trump's border wall?

There's a story in "The Hill" about an upcoming House bill that includes funding for a whopping 28 miles of it.

http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/342610-house-bill-includes-funds-for-28-miles-of-border-wall

What a sad, pathetic joke these people really, truly are.

I think Charlie Daniels defined our current situation perfectly yesterday with two simple yet accurate Tweets.

The senate is not a political body, its a kindergarten class
OK the congress and senate we have can't work together and have proven it.
solution- replace them all until we find people who can

We finally have a president who's willing to fight for us.

We have the House just like we were told was needed.

And we have the Senate which we were told was was vital.

And what'd we get for our efforts?

Cowards, liars, and losers...

And I don't think we've heard all of the fallout from this by any stretch...in fact I think it's only just begun.
They've exposed themselves as the power-hungry frauds they are...

  2. And the libs played their hole card and now are getting the results. The rino's played right into it. As far as I care they need to let Obamma care less go down. Why? they dont do something, any thing just stand up to them. What is so hard about getting a bill thru that lets those that want it to keep it, get better prices ,no fines ,keep it as long as you want. Gee I for the life of me dont get it. Are they all that big a bunch of liars and crooks? I think so. They want to know why they will loose everything next time, they will only have themselves to blame when the libs come marching in and take over. Bunch of gutless. POS

“Radio host Rush Limbaugh says an implosion of the Republicans’ health care bill in the Senate is further proof of “the establishment unifying to get rid of Donald Trump. “The fight is not Republican versus Democrat,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “The fight is Donald Trump and his cadre and you, the Trump base, versus the Washington establishment. It has always been that and nothing more. And, frankly, I think one of the problems has been that there aren’t enough people in the Trump White House who understand that that’s the way the table’s set.””

“We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return! 6:53 AM - 18 Jul 2017 “ ~ Donald J. Trump

    1. Hillary is washed up –

    2. Democrats have shown themselves to not give a damned about anything but their professed hatred for President Trump

    3. some Republicans who switched sides on this Obamauncare project and have shown themselves to be aligned with the Democrats (they may as well just make it official and call themselves Democrats too)

    4. the media has been shown to be the fake news peddlers that they are

    5. through it all we have President Trump – not wavering – not giving up – still working for the people – still putting America first unlike the Democrats who are putting their hatred of President Trump above the needs of the people.

The whole of America is still in transition....the change began when Donald Trump ran for office, and it will continue as one by one those who have polluted Washington will be voted out and replaced with more competent people.

  6. The thing to do was always to just let ACA fall apart. A party that controls a house of congress with just a two vote margin doesn't control much. Since no Dems will play ball, you just give them what they want. Keep ACA until it's obvious to even them that the Obama "legacy" isn't quite up to snuff. Schumer and Pelosi can hardly whine when they got what they wished for.

As far as replacing people like Collins and Paul, has anyone given much thought to who replaces them? Because if you "get rid" of them, you'll get Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer. Does that sound like an agreeable development.

Trump wasn't even that wild about "fixing" medical care anyway. Irresponsible people insisted on making that the first priority. Trump's more interested in taxation and the economy and I can't blame him. Let's do what we can and let what we can't fester for awhile. I'll guarantee that at some point Schumer (if not Pelosi) will come around.

And as far as 545 people having an inordinate say, again, what is the alternative? 9 people (US S Ct) or 1 (POTUS)?

  11. I am willing to bet that as time goes on, the current swamp stench will become so onerous that good people will start showing up as candidates and they may not be either Rs or Ds...maybe not in time for midterms but it will happen at some point. Lame media will not report that phenomenon because they're driven by agenda but their ratings aren't so hot either. A lot of ordinary Americans just want truth and responsible government and they're not getting either in the current environment.

    2. The Supreme Court of the United States ruled Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban can remain in place as challenges to the presidential measure crawl through lower courts.

Last month the nation’s top court partially lifted an injunction on Trump’s ban on people traveling to the United States from countries rife with Islamic terror and agreed to hear an appeal on lower court rulings that blocked the ban during its fall term. The decision, a win for the Trump administration, allowed the the government to begin barring people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen who cannot demonstrate that they have a reason to travel to the United States from entering the nation.

That ruling came with the stipulation that people having a “bona fide relationship” to the United States be unaffected by the ban.

The Trump Justice Department sought clarification from SCOTUS on what constitutes a “bona fide relationship,” but the court declined to elaborate.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch dissented against the decision to avoid hammering down concise parameters for what relationships should allow entry.

Some media outlets are reading the SCOTUS move as a loss for Trump because it allows people from the ban nations to enter the U.S. by digging for American connections in their family trees.

  12. Glad you brought that up, Sarge.

It's just another example of how we can't get on the same page.

These bastards jump up and down promising you get tough on illegal immigration, terrorists, and drug trafficking, and what do they do when the time comes to put up or shut up?

    They cry like little children.

    That's just mean, they cry.

We can't break up families, they whine.

And if have to listen one more time about how, that's not who we are, my head's gonna explode.

Evidently none of them have noticed how well uncontrolled and unchecked immigration has worked out in Europe.

You bring up some good points, Captain.

I have no idea who we'd replace them with but I'd start by looking for people with a spine...

And so are these damned visa imports they keep doing...they get here, many overstay and nothing gets done about it..."they do jobs Americans just won't do!" sick of hearing thst too. 14. It is slow now so I will share this.
    NEVER FORGET YOUR FRIENDS!

Many years ago, a newlywed young man was sitting on a couch on a hot, humid day, sipping frozen juice during a visit to his father. As he talked about adult life, marriage, responsibilities, and obligations, the father thoughtfully stirred the ice cubes in his glass and cast a clear, sober look on his son.

"Never forget your friends," he advised, "they will become more important as you get older." "Regardless of how much you love your family and the children you happen to have, you will always need friends. Remember to go out with them occasionally, do activities with them, call them."

"What strange advice!" The young man thought. "I just entered the married world, I am an adult and surely my wife and the family that we will start will be everything I need to make sense of my life."

Yet he obeyed his father; Kept in touch with his friends and annually increased their number. Over the years, he became aware that his father knew what he was talking about. Inasmuch as time and nature carry out their designs and mysteries on a man, friends were the bulwarks of his life.

After 60 years of life, here is what he learned:

    Time passes.
    Life goes on.
    The distance separates.
    Children grow up.

Children cease to be children and become independent. And to the parents it breaks the heart but the children are separate of the parents. Grandchildren too grow up and begin busy lives with little time to spend with the older generation.

    Jobs come and go.

Illusions, desires, attraction, sex ... weaken.

People do not do what they should do.

    The heart breaks.

    The parents die.

    Colleagues forget the favors

    The races are over.

But, true friends are always there, no matter how long or how many miles away they may be. A friend is never more distant than the reach of a phone, or a need, barring you, intervening in your favor, waiting for you with open arms or blessing your life.

When we started this adventure called LIFE, we did not know of the incredible joys or sorrows that were ahead. We did not know how much we would need from each other. Love your parents, take care of your children, but keep a group of good friends. Dialogue with them but do not impose your criteria.

Refer this text to all friends who helped make sense of your life. I already did.

  18. McCain initially reported to have blood clots, now brain cancer.

No sarcastic statements from me about that. Clots can be handled. Brain cancer a billion times worse, and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I suppose out of respect, nobody is yet mentioning what I am about to, but we all know everyone is chewing on it.

The Republicans have one less possible vote for some (but obviously, not all) items on their agenda. This could be a problem for some things.

The liberals? They are out in force (and the mainstream media is "featuring" mostly Democrats) extending their well-wishes.

Unfortunately, we all know most of those are just vacant statements, politically-motivated to try to give them the appearance of concern and compassion.

Sadly, it's not even a millimeter of a stretch to suspect that the moment they knew the diagnosis, their hearts raced with giddy anticipation of one less Republican in the way, for now.

    Am I wrong about that?
