Not related to the current political drama. I've been following the story of a Hobbs, New Mexico teen mother who tossed her newborn into a trash dumpster last year January. Surveillance cameras caught the horrible crime on camera which made it easy for law enforcement to arrest the teen mother. If you know the desert, the winters in the desert are more than bone chilling.
After she tossed the trash bag with her newborn baby into the dumpster, several hours had passed. Three scavenger people rummaging through the bin heard the infant crying. All three scavengers desperately searched the bin and it's contents and they found the baby. They called 911 and cared for the baby until first responders came. The baby survived.
The teen father had no idea his girlfriend was pregnant and as the story unfolded, I believe him to be telling the truth on that. The baby is living with the teen father and his family. She claimed that she didn't realize she was pregnant and when she had the baby, she was at her home. She claimed to not remember anything of what she did after the baby was born, that she blacked out.
I'm not trying to position myself in judgement over her. If I had been on that jury, I would have asked these questions of her:
1. What frightened you so much that you felt you had no where to turn for assistance?
2. Knowing you had a living breathing baby, how could you place him in a trash bag with trash in it and hurl the bag into a trash dumpster?
3. Do you value life in general?
Her sentencing is coming up May 1st.
Do I believe that she should be in jail, yes. With that said, everyone has a soul that needs redemption. We all have fallen short and are all sinners. It is my sincere hope that while the teen mother is in prison that she receive much needed counseling and genuine Christian intervention to help guide her.
I pray that somehow there be some much needed healing for all parties concerned. If Jesus could reform the murderous Saul of Tarsus (turned into Apostle Paul), there is hope for the teen mother and every sinner.
These stories definitely disturb. Far too many out there to read. Truly sad.
ReplyDeleteAll of your questions are legit, Rikki. But like so many things in this world, it seems connected to the parents. I cannot believe that enough love or support was given to this young woman. She had no idea the special nature of life, her ability to make it, nor her responsibility to protect it. Of course mental illness is a possibility, but her actions in covering it up seem inconsistent with that excuse.
So sad. I can only hope that child is raised and protected in love, and never knows the awful beginning they were dealt. Only that the miracle of life was sustained by our Lord and some fortunate unfortunate folks that found them in time. I hope they grow up seeing the miracle they are, and not the trash they were treated as from the beginning.
Also, I need to say this:
There are folks out there that believe in the presence of a doctor that no actions were criminal. It was just practicing woman's health care, even at full term, and it's none of our business.
That's the awful reality, and how far down this evil road some in America have gone. Sound radical? It should be, but the truth is it isnt.
Yes this is a disturbing story. A very painful one. You're very right Hammer about the evil road that America is currently on - tragic. This topic could literally go down many avenues of discussion but in the end a tragedy is still a tragedy.

Take the libtards, they dont want God in any of their lives or their followers lives It may sound silly but people who do stuff like this dont value life. They were never taught what life is. They were never loved or loved some one else to know the hurt that comes from losing some one that was loved. Yes it starts at the begining. If they are loved and know love they will value life. One of the reasons that a lot of the terrorist are is they dont value life. They were never taught the value of life by being loved. Thats why I have a hard time trying to respect other cultures and religions. They dont value life like we do.
ReplyDeleteThis is another example of the moral decline of this country and actually the world in general. It is not any instrument or device that needs restricted- it's the agenda bought on by liberals that goes against the attributes of God. Satan uses these people and has enriched people with money, power and other resources. Then they use these resources to destroy the minds of children in schools, young people in colleges, marriages, foundation of a family as a unit and redefining Gods creation.
