  1. Why would anyone believe Warren's plan for health care make sense? Even if her figures are correct and my tax increase would be off set by premium cuts, why would I want to fix something which isn't broken. Obama care was bad enough. Figures by politicians are always way under estimated. We don't need European style rationed health care with no incentive for for advances. Here we go with the " fair share" horse manure.

  3. For weeks, we’ve been shining a light on how big of a sham this impeachment inquiry has been.

It began without a vote. It’s been conducted largely in secret, away from the American people. And the minority party has been denied their right to fully participate.

On Halloween, Speaker Pelosi gave in to public pressure. No longer able to protect vulnerable Democrats from having to go on record, Pelosi held a vote. Now we know where our representatives stand, and that’s a victory.

But the vote is too little, too late. For weeks, the blatant partisanship of Pelosi, Schiff and others has been on full display. Holding a vote doesn’t change that.

From the moment President Trump took the oath of office, Democrats have been determined to impeach him. Today’s vote was simply the latest move in this highly partisan proceeding. The entire impeachment process has been purely motivated by politics, with little grounding in evidence, fairness, or due process. MAGA

Goodwin: A tragedy for the nation – and democracy
    By Michael Goodwin October 31, 2019 | 10:10pm | Updated

Another day, another giant step on the road to ruin. Either Nancy Pelosi has lost her mind or she really wants to dig America’s grave.

The vote to formalize the impeachment jihad is a great day for Trump haters and a tragedy for democracy and common sense. Coming a year before an election and without a compelling claim that the president committed anything remotely resembling “high crimes and misdemeanors,” the action is an abuse of power for purely partisan purposes.

The timing is also exquisite. Voting on Halloween, and on the same day when Democratic Rep. Katie Hill took to the House floor to declare herself a victim of a double standard after she was caught engaging in threesomes with her husband and a campaign aide, the picture of a party seized by shamelessness is complete.

This was the Dems’ Crazy Day — and like Hill, they don’t have the decency to be embarrassed. Some are even rallying around her. Throuple cheers for Katie!

The fact that no Republicans joined the hit squad exposes the lie that there is a “bipartisan” push against President Trump. Pierre Delicto, aka Mitt Romney, loves the sound of his own self-righteousness but impeachment is now one party against America.

And surely we can expect the media to laud the two Dems who voted “no” as rare profiles in courage. Yeah, right.

After months of pushing back against impeachment, Pelosi has abandoned any pretense of being a leader. She has jumped on the bandwagon led by such kooks as Texas Rep. Al Green.

He has been demanding impeachment since 2017 — on what grounds, he didn’t know and didn’t care. The failure of special counsel Robert Mueller to deliver the goods only added to Green’s zeal.

“I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected,” Green said last May.

House Dems defend impeachment probe, rip GOP's no-show hearings
There’s probably truth to that, but Green missed a larger truth. The only thing that could be worse for Dems would be impeaching Trump with no evidence of a crime or a serious abuse of office.

That’s what they’re doing — and four more years just got more likely.
Yet there is something bigger at stake than the next election. The effort to overturn the 2016 results is such a radical event that it raises the question of whether polarization has become fatal to our republic.

If so, then elections will never settle anything again. Each loser will simply look for a way to erase the outcome as if it never happened.

But then how do we settle our differences if elections don’t have consequences?
There are no good answers to that question, yet that’s the dynamic Pelosi is creating. Why wouldn’t the next GOP House do the same thing to the next Dem president? To save time, perhaps impeachment votes should become part of the inauguration ceremony.

Granted, Trump is not your ordinary president and there are few norms he hasn’t shattered. But it remains a fact that his greatest sin was defeating Hillary Clinton and smashing the legacy of Barack Obama.

For that, he must be destroyed. And if America goes down with him, that’s fine with the far-left crazies. They never liked the country anyway.

There is nothing "there" in this impeachment charade, never has been, and never will be! The Dims simply try to wear you down by continuing to repeat the lies. People who don't tend to follow politics, even as much as we do, only read and react to what they see and hear on social media. Most of them have no clue on what is really going on and many probably don't care, as long as they get whatever they think the government owes them financially. But even as most people have an opinion, however they came to it, the only real opinion that counts is the one that they cast on Election date in the voting booth.

After they checked it over, they would not or could not even work on the problems that I went in for, but told me they would send an estimate of what the work would cost. I got no estimate on that work but got a whole list of what they said was wrong with my car! I probably can't afford to fix everything on the list and I know I really can't afford a different car! Good Morning Y'all,
    From the NY Post:

    Pelosi’s impeachment rules guarantee a partisan circus By Betsy McCaughey November 4, 2019 | 8:35pm | Updated

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insists the impeachment procedures adopted last Thursday are “the fairest possible.” Don’t believe it. In truth, a provision slyly added at the last minute is all but certain to deprive President Trump of the ability to defend himself. Expect a one-sided propaganda circus with Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff acting as ringmaster.

Democrats are boasting about the “impeachment inquiry protections” offered to Trump, claiming they’re the same as the rules devised for President Richard Nixon and President Bill Clinton. But that’s a bald-faced lie.

Section F, quietly devised by Judiciary Committee Chair Jerold Nadler, stipulates that unless the president surrenders executive privilege — a power even the Supreme Court has ruled is vital to his office — he and his lawyers will be denied any ability to call or question witnesses.

House Democrats are behaving like thugs, twisting arms to get what the Constitution does not entitle them to demand.

The Judiciary Committee’s Section F was triggered on Monday, when four White House officials refused to show up for Schiff’s grilling, because Trump and the Justice Department instructed them to stay away. It is the president’s right to do that to protect executive privilege.

Schiff immediately called these four officials “first-hand witnesses to serious misconduct.” That’s typical Schiff: rushing to judgment without hearing any evidence. Expect more of that when the hearings go public in mid-November.

Pelosi defended the House decision to drag out its investigation of the president with formal public hearings, saying, “If we don’t have a system of checks and balances, we might as well all just elect a president and go home.”

With all due respect, Madam Speaker, impeachment was never intended to be a part of the routine checks and balances between Congress and the executive. That’s what the president’s veto power and Congress’ override are for. Impeachment was reserved for those rare moments when a president actually may have committed “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

    ReplyDelete
  36. Part 2 of 2:

It’s tragic to see Democrats turning impeachment into a tool to discredit a president merely because he belongs to a different party or they find him objectionable. Allow it to happen once, and it could happen again and again, letting the party that controls the House undo presidential elections routinely.

Most presidents facing re-election would be doomed by the rigged House spectacle about to begin. But Trump sees that he can overcome the impact of these televised hearings by going directly to the public himself. He said he’s tempted to hold a “fireside chat” with the American people and read the transcript of his controversial July 25 phone call with the president of Ukraine.

Trump’s medium is television, and no one is better. New York Times author James Poniewozik, who is no Trump fan, argues in a recent book that Trump doesn’t just appear on television. He owes his rise to television.

Compared with Trump, Schiff and his star witnesses are not very telegenic. Typical are William Taylor, acting ambassador to Ukraine, and George Kent, State Department careerist. These bureaucrats, reeking of self-importance, are convinced that they know more about foreign policy than the president. They’re dripping with disdain for him and the people who elected him.

Meanwhile, Trump shows how to maximize television audiences. In a mere nine-minute Oval Office speech defending the needs for border security, he pulled in a whopping 43 million viewers, ratings that Trump-haters like sleaze-bag lawyer Michael Cohen and former FBI Director James Comey couldn’t touch.

Will he win the ratings war against House Democrats and their witnesses? With a Senate conviction and removal from office highly unlikely, because real evidence of wrong-doing is lacking, the only goal of House impeachment is to damage the president and make him unelectable in 2020.

Democrats will easily win a vote to impeach Trump but are likely to lose where it counts — in the court of public opinion.

This is from the Part 1 of 1....

Though Section F is unconstitutional, it is not surprising to me that the demoNcrats have it there... They have been trying from before President Trump's Inauguration to remove him - they are fooling themselves if they think that President Trump will fall to their demands.

November 2020 will be a dismal time for the satanic demoNcrats.... but it will be a really awesome time for President Trump!

  38. I was also hearing about the idea that the Dims would be willing to have the Repubs submit written questions to the so-called whistleblower, rather than have him be questioned out in the open. Many were saying, Well, when President Trump was testifying to Mueller, he was allowed to give written responses, so what makes this any different? A lot, in my way of thinking! Mainly, the "whistleblower" is the Accuser not the Accused, like President Trump was during the Mueller witch-hunt! That is a big difference to me! The Accused should be allowed to face his Accuser and question them to see exactly how truthful and honest their answers appear to be as to whether their accusation is credible or not. If you are accused, then the benefit of doubt should go to you until they have real proof that the accusation is in fact valid. Innocent until PROVEN guilty! Not the other way around! They do not want their "whistleblower" out their having to answer whether the Dims put him/her up to the idea of becoming the whistleblower and feeding him the information that they put out to slam the President. This whistleblower thing is such a joke and the Dims who support it are more crooked and slimy than a box of night-crawlers!

Real Talk: Impeachment Is Going Poorly For Democrats And The Media
By Mollie Hemingway NOVEMBER 5, 2019

Impeachment is going so poorly for the media and other Democrats that “Meet The Press” host Chuck Todd was forced to broadcast false information to support it.

A graphic was posted on Sunday’s show that purported to identify how many people in the president’s party voted in support of an impeachment inquiry in the cases of Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. It accurately noted that 31 Democrats voted in favor of impeachment proceedings for Clinton. But it inaccurately claimed that a single Republican had voted in favor of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment rules last week.

There are multiple problems with this graphic. For one thing, zero Republicans voted with House Democrats last week. Zero point zero. Zilch. Nada. None. For another, Todd’s team is hiding the bipartisan nature of the opposition to the vote last week. Not only did not a single Republican vote with Democrats, two Democrats voted with Republicans in opposition.

Todd knows that no Republicans voted for impeachment, despite the graphic he put up on national television. In fact, he said during the show, “I have one with an asterisk here. I don’t know what you do with Justin Amash. It’s not a zero. At the same time, he’s not a Republican anymore.”

I know what you do with that, Chuck. You don’t lie and call him a Republican. Todd himself gave Amash national media attention for leaving the Republican Party in dramatic fashion, interviewing him two weeks prior. In the first six seconds of the interview, he noted twice that Amash was not a Republican.

The impeachment inquiry, such as it is, has tremendous struggles. It’s been conducted in secret, with heavy control from Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the man who falsely claimed for years he had evidence of Trump’s treasonous collusion with Russia to steal the 2016 election. The inquiry is being handled by him because the more appropriate committee chair, Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., made a mess of the previous impeachment efforts by mismanaging his hearings with Robert Mueller, John Dean, and Corey Lewandowski. In fact, the Mueller hearing was such a disaster for impeachment efforts that it more or less killed a multi-year effort put in place by Resistance bureaucrats and their supporters.

Schiff has told witnesses not to answer questions when those questions would help Trump, and has badgered witnesses who were deemed insufficiently supportive of his efforts to undo the 2016 election. He and the whistleblower both lied about their coordination prior to the complaint being filed. And while he originally demanded the whistleblower’s testimony, after that coordination was revealed, he has attempted to prevent the testimony during which difficult questions would be asked.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Part 2 of ?

Worse, the witnesses thus far can not point to a single crime, much less a high crime, for which to impeach the president. Instead, the witnesses either broadly support the president’s handling of foreign policy or are livid with rage over his disagreement with their foreign policy views.

While the losing faction in 2016 has great trouble with Trump’s less interventionist foreign policy, it is not actually grounds for impeachment. Even if one were to take issue with that foreign policy, nobody has been able to point to a single crime that took place in any interaction with Ukraine, much less one committed by the president, which is a serious barrier for an impeachment inquiry.

Also, unlike the Russia collusion hoax, Republican politicians aren’t falling for it at all. For impeachment to have even a scintilla of legitimacy, it must be broadly bipartisan. That’s not my opinion, it was the standard Democrats held until moments ago.

In March, Pelosi told the Washington Post, “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.” A year earlier she said, “Impeachment is a very serious matter. If it happens, it has to be a bipartisan initiative.”

Years prior, Nadler himself said, “There must never be a narrowly voted impeachment or an impeachment substantially supported by one of our major political parties and largely opposed by the other. Such an impeachment would lack legitimacy, would produce divisiveness and bitterness in our politics for years to come. And will call into question the very legitimacy of our political institutions.”

    ReplyDelete
  51. looks like 3 0f 3...

The only Republican to be broadly supportive of the latest anti-Trump effort is Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, a man whose opposition to Trump is seen as more ego-based than principled. In fact, a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll of Americans showed that only 2 percent of Americans view Romney “very favorably,” and only 18 percent view him favorably at all.

Polls that were working very hard to show growing support for impeachment have seen decreased support as Americans learn more about the probe, settling into a proxy for questions of Trump’s approval or favorability. National Review editor Rich Lowry noted in that “Meet the Press” panel that even in a poll that showed a slight majority of Americans favoring impeachment, a larger majority opposed removal in favor of waiting to see election results in 2020.

Polls also show that impeachment is disfavored in critical battleground states. And according to the latest Fox News poll, only 38 percent of independents favored impeachment. With Republicans and Democrats mirror images of each other on the issue, that’s a huge problem for Democrats and the media.

Inside of newsrooms, broadcast studios, and Twitter, impeachment is going according to plan. Outside of those bubbles, it’s not. Republicans are handling efforts to unseat Trump much in the way that Democrats would handle efforts to unseat Barack Obama or Republicans would handle efforts to unseat George W. Bush. They’re not finding them remotely compelling. And until they do, even the more feckless Republican politicians aren’t going to fall for impeachment unless they’re heavily incentivized to do so by outside interests.

John Kennedy mocks Nancy Pelosi: 'It must suck to be that dumb'
By Dave Boyer - The Washington Times - Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana offered a blunt opinion Wednesday night of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s effort to impeach President Trump.

“I don’t mean any disrespect, but it must suck to be that dumb,” he said of Mrs. Pelosi at a campaign rally for the president in Monroe, Louisiana.

The crowd roared its approval. The president didn’t comment on Mrs. Pelosi’s intelligence but called her “corrupt” for launching “the deranged, delusional destructive and hyper-partisan impeachment witch hunt.”

Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” fame also joined the president on stage briefly and gave Mr. Trump a plug.

    “If you’re pro-God and pro-America and pro-gun and pro-duck hunting, that’s all I want,” Mr. Robertson said.

CBS News fires staffer who leaked ABC News video about Epstein cover-up: Report
    by Mike Brest | November 07, 2019 09:47 AM | Updated Nov 07, 2019, 10:13 AM

The former ABC News employee who leaked the video of Amy Robach talking about the network refusing to run her story on one of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers was fired from their current job at CBS News.

Project Veritas released a video Tuesday of Robach discussing the information she received years earlier from Virginia Roberts Giuffre on a hot mic. She can be heard expressing her frustration surrounding ABC News's refusal to air the interview and claimed that the network made the decision after receiving threats from Buckingham Palace after they had found out Prince Andrew was implicated in the story. She also alleged that Epstein may have been murdered.

"It was unbelievable what we had. Clinton, we had everything," she stated. "I tried for three years to get it on to no avail. And now it's all coming out, and it's like these new revelations, and I freaking had all of it."

The former ABC News employee who accessed the video has been fired from the person's current position at CBS News, according to journalist Yashar Ali.

"Two sources familiar with the matter tell me that CBS News has fired the staffer in question. This comes after ABC informed CBS that they had determined who accessed the footage of Amy Robach expressing her frustrations about the Epstein story," Ali tweeted Thursday morning.

ABC News is not sure if the individual who accessed the video was the same person who shared it with Project Veritas or if that individual gave it to someone else who passed it along.

Robach released a statement after the video was released claiming her comments were "caught in a private moment of frustration" and added that her interview with Giuffre "didn't air because we could not obtain sufficient corroborating evidence to meet ABC's editorial standards about her allegations."

Her response echoes that of the network, which said, "At the time, not all of our reporting met our standards to air, but we have never stopped investigating the story. Ever since we’ve had a team on this investigation and substantial resources dedicated to it. That work has led to a two-hour documentary and 6-part podcast that will air in the new year."

  74. Not all fake news is published news. Often the lamestream legacy media creates fake news by what it chooses to not cover, as Project Veritas revealed this week when it released video of ABC Good Morning America hostess/news anchor Amy Robach lamenting that she had the goods on serial pedophile and friend of the rich and famous (like Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Allen Dershowitz, etc.) Jeffrey Epstein and her report was quashed by ABC brass.

Robach had the story on Epstein — who was murdered committed suicide in jail — in 2016. And what was going on in 2016? Oh, just a little election that involved Bill's wife and enabler of his own sexual assaults, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Such a story might have had a significant impact on the election. (Perhaps it would have been Donald Trump vs. the old commie from Vermont.) But more than that, Epstein was allowed to roam free and continue his perverse sexual exploitation of young girls for two more years thanks to ABC's spiking of the story and the very lenient sentence he got from the George W. Bush/Robert Mueller FBI and Department of Justice. MAGA

Trump: Despite Democrats' impeachment investigation, 'we're kicking their ass'
    by Mike Brest | November 08, 2019 11:29 AM | Updated Nov 08, 2019, 01:15 PM

President Trump claimed that his administration and the Republican Party are besting the Democrats despite the current impeachment investigation.

The president made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the South Lawn prior to his departure to Alabama on Friday morning.

"[People] really became angry because it’s a hoax," Trump stated. "And I’ll tell you, the whistleblower, I call him the fake whistleblower. He gave a fake report of my phone call. And when I did it, all of a sudden when I released that call, all of a sudden, everybody disappeared. The whistleblower disappeared, whatever happened to the second whistleblower? Why isn’t the first whistleblower going to testify any more? You know why? Because everything he wrote in that report almost was a lie because he made a phony phone call."

He went on to call the whistleblower "a disgrace to our country" and attacked Mark Zaid, the whistleblower's lawyer, for anti-Trump tweets that he wrote two years ago.

"[Rep. Adam Schiff] made up a speech, and he put my voice in it. He made up a speech that had nothing to do with what I said. Adam Schiff is a corrupt politician that's not giving us due process, not giving us lawyers, and despite all that, we’re kicking their ass," Trump said before walking away.

The whistleblower is alleged to be Eric Ciaramella, 33, a career CIA analyst.

He was Ukraine director on the National Security Council during the end of the Obama administration and remained there during the early months of the Trump administration, when he was briefly acting senior director for European and Russian affairs. On Oct. 7, the Washington Examiner reported that Ciaramella is now a deputy national intelligence officer for Russia and Eurasia on the National Intelligence Council, reporting to the director of national intelligence.

  76. Epstein was rearrested in July on new federal sex trafficking charges and was murdered committed suicide in a Manhattan jail in August as he awaited trail.

In a statement, ABC News said it didn't spike the story, claiming that despite having interviews with Epstein's victims and others, the story didn't have enough verification. This coming from the same network that interviewed accusers of Brett Kavanaugh, whose flimsy accusations didn't fool a classroom of 10-year-olds. Oh, and it's the same network that, as we told you three weeks ago, ran stock footage of some explosions at a Kentucky gun range and told us they were footage of Turkey's military bombing Kurds in Syria.

That a major media organ spiked such a big story should be one story dominating media discussion this week. However, the rest of the legacy media talking heads, save Faux Snooze, have ignored it altogether and been remarkably uncurious about it… as they are all uncurious about the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death.

And for the record, Epstein didn't kill himself.

TRUMP IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY Published 17 hours ago Last Update 7 hours ago

Yovanovitch communicated with Dem staffer on 'delicate' issue after complaint, emails show, despite testimony

EXCLUSIVE: Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, a key witness in House Democrats' impeachment inquiry, communicated via her personal email account with a Democratic congressional staffer concerning a "quite delicate" and "time-sensitive" matter -- just two days after the whistleblower complaint that kickstarted the inquiry was filed, and a month before the complaint became public, emails obtained Thursday by Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" show.

The emails appear to contradict Yovanovitch's deposition on Capitol Hill last month, in which she told U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., about an email she received Aug. 14 from the staffer, Laura Carey -- but indicated under oath that she never responded to it.

The communication came "from the Foreign Affairs Committee," and "they wanted me to come in and talk about, I guess, the circumstances of my departure" in May as ambassador to Ukraine, Yovanovitch testified, describing Carey's initial email. "I alerted the State Department, because I'm still an employee, and so, matters are generally handled through the State Department."

Yovanovitch continued: "So, she emailed me. I alerted the State Department and, you know, asked them to handle the correspondence. And, she emailed me again and said, you know, 'Who should I be in touch with?'"

Fox News is told it is a breach of normal procedure for congressional staff to reach out to a current State Department employee at their personal email address for official business.

Asked directly whether she responded to Carey's overtures, Yovanovitch testified only that someone in the "Legislative Affairs Office" at the State Department had responded to Carey, to the best of her knowledge.

Yovanovitch did not indicate that she had responded to Carey's first email in any way, and testified explicitly that she did not reply to Carey's follow-up email concerning whom she should contact at the State Department.

However, emails obtained by Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" showed that in fact, Yovanovitch had responded to Carey's initial Aug. 14 email, writing that she "would love to reconnect and look forward to chatting with you."

On Aug. 14, Carey reached out to Yovanovitch with pleasantries about the last time the two had "crossed paths" -- "when I was detailed to" the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- before noting that Carey had resigned from the State Department to join the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff performing oversight work.

  78. Part 2 of 3:

"I'm writing to see if you would have time to meet up for a chat — in particular, I’m hoping to discuss some Ukraine-related oversight questions we are exploring," Carey then wrote to Yovanovitch. "I'd appreciate the chance to ground-truth a few pieces of information with you, some of which are quite delicate/time-sensitive and, thus, we want to make sure we get them right."

Carey continued: "Could you let me know if you have any time this week or next to connect? Happy to come to a place of your choosing, or if easier, to speak by phone at either of the numbers below. I'm also around this weekend if meeting up over coffee works."

READ YOVANOVITCH'S DEPOSITION TESTIMONY -- ZELDIN'S QUESTIONS ARE ON PG. 213

On Aug. 15, Yovanovitch responded: "Thanks for reaching out -- and congratulations on your new job. I would love to reconnect and look forward to chatting with you. I have let EUR [Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs] know that you are interested in talking and they will be in touch with you shortly."

On Aug. 19, Carey wrote, "Great -- thanks for the response and I look forward to hearing from them. As mentioned, it would be ideal to connect this week... assuming this week is doable for you schedule-wise?"

    Lee Zeldin

    @RepLeeZeldin
It appears Ambassador Yovanovitch did not accurately answer this question I asked her during her “impeachment inquiry” deposition under oath. https://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1192617974164668416 …

Mr. Zeldin: When was the last time you had communicated with that person?

Ms. Yovanovitch: Well, I should actually clarify. So she emailed me. I alerted the State Department and, you know, asked them to handle the correspondence. And she emailed me again and said, you know, who should I be in touch with?

Mr. Zeldin: To try to get you to come in and testify to the House Foreign Affairs Committee?

Ms. Yovanovitch: It wasn't clear to me whether it was going to be - - whether this was a discussion with her, whether this was a discussion with other staffers, whether it was a deposition. I mean, it just didn't get that far, because I transferred that information to the State Department lawyers -- well, H, actually.

Mr. Zeldin: And what specifically was she asking you to speak about?

Ms. Yovanovitch: I think - - I think it was the circumstances of my departure, or maybe she just kept it more general and said to catch up, but I understood it as that.

Mr. Zeldin: Do you know if she had reached out to other people about that?

    Ms. Yovanovitch: I don't know.

Mr. Zeldin: And you - - one more time. And what did you do after you recieved the email?

Ms. Yovanovitch: I alerted the State Department, because I'm sill an employee and so matters are generally handled through the state Department.

Mr. Zeldin: Was that person responded to by you or someone else?

Ms. Yovanovitch: I believe, yes, by [REDACTED] in the Legislative Affairs Office.

Mr. Zeldin: Did you receive any subsequent requests to testify to the House Foreign Affairs Committee or to come in to speak to someone at the House Foreign Affairs Committee or to come in to speak to someone at the House Foreign Affairs Committee following that initial email? Was there any follow-up?

Ms. Yovanovitch: Well, as I said, there was the second email where she said, oh, okay, you know, who should I be talking to? I didn't respond to that email, because I had already transferred everything to the State Department and I figured they would be in touch, and they were.

  81. looks like more than 3 posts.... thanks for your patience with me....

Zeldin told Fox News on Thursday it was "greatly concerning" that Yovanovitch may have testified incorrectly that she did not personally respond to Carey's email.

'COUP HAS STARTED,' WHISTLEBLOWER ATTORNEY ANNOUNCES IN 2017

"I would highly suspect that this Democratic staffer's work was connected in some way to the whistleblower's effort, which has evolved into this impeachment charade," Zeldin said. "We do know that the whistleblower was in contact with [House Intelligence Committee Chairman] Adam Schiff's team before the whistleblower had even hired an attorney or filed a whistleblower complaint even though Schiff had lied to the public originally claiming that there was no contact. Additionally, while the contents of the email from this staffer to Ambassador Yovanovitch clearly state what the conversation would be regarding, Yovanovitch, when I asked her specifically what the staffer was looking to speak about, did not provide these details."

Zeldin added: "I specifically asked her whether the Democratic staffer was responded to by Yovanovitch or the State Department. It is greatly concerning that Ambassador Yovanovitch didn't answer my question as honestly as she should have, especially while under oath."

"It is greatly concerning that Ambassador Yovanovitch didn't answer my question as honestly as she should have, especially while under oath."

    — U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y.
A Democratic House Foreign Affairs Committee spokesperson, however, characterized the outreach as innocuous, saying it was related to Yovanovitch's public ouster as the envoy to Ukraine.

"The committee wanted to hear from an ambassador whose assignment was cut short under unusual circumstances," the spokesperson said. "This staff outreach was part of monthslong efforts that culminated in the September 9 launch of an investigation into these events. Congress has a constitutional duty to conduct oversight. The State Department doesn’t tell Congress how to do that job, and should be more concerned with the culture of retaliation and impunity that has festered under this administration."

Neither Carey nor the State Department immediately responded to Fox News' requests for comment.

  82. the last post on this article!!

President Trump ordered Yovanovitch to be recalled from her post this past May following allegations of partisanship and political bias. Democrats have suggested her service was terminated so that the Trump administration could carry out illicit foreign policy with Ukraine.

George Kent, a career official at the State Department, told House investigators conducting the impeachment inquiry that a Ukrainian official told him Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani had conspired with Yuriy Lutsenko, the then-prosecutor general of Ukraine, to "throw mud" as part of a “campaign of slander” against Yovanovitch.

UKRAINE ENVOY CLAIMS 'CLEAR KNOWLEDGE' OF QUID PRO QUO, BUT NO 'DIRECT KNOWLEDGE' OF TRUMP PLANS

That accusation came out in testimony released earlier Thursday.

"Well, Mr. Giuliani was almost unmissable starting in mid-March," Kent told investigators. "As the news campaign, or campaign of slander against, not only Ambassador Yovanovitch unfolded, he had a very high media presence, so he was on TV, his Twitter feed ramped up and it was all focused on Ukraine."

"Tucker Carlson Tonight" investigative producer Alex Pfeiffer contributed to this report.

Impeachment testimony jabs Schiff on Trump-Russia dossier
By Rowan Scarborough and S.A. Miller - The Washington Times - Friday, November 8, 2019

During House Democrats’ impeachment probe interview of National Security Council staffer Fiona Hill, Rep. Adam B. Schiff got slapped down for championing the unsubstantiated Russia-collusion dossier on President Trump.

Ms. Hill, a Russia expert, said she knew from the start that the dossier’s author, former British spy Christopher Steele, “could have been played” by the Russians.

She called the dossier a “rabbit hole,” according to the transcript of her closed-door interview, which was released Friday by House Democrats.

SEE ALSO: House Dems release transcripts from Hill, Vindman testimonies

“I was concerned about the Steele report because that is a vulnerability,” she said as Mr. Schiff, the chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence spearheading the impeachment inquiry, looked on.

Mr. Schiff fully endorsed the dossier Mr. Steele compiled in Moscow while being paid by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

The interview focused on her concerns about Mr. Trump’s dealings in Ukraine that are central to the impeachment case against the president. But her testimony also the dossier that was the genesis of Democrats’ previous efforts to bring down Mr. Trump.

SEE ALSO: Trump not sweating impeachment testimony: ‘I’m not concerned about anything’

“Christopher Steele going out and looking for information. He’s it obviously out there soliciting information. What a great opportunity to, basically, you know, present him with information that he’s looking for that can be couched some truth and some disinformation,” said Ms. Hill, an intelligence community veteran.

The dossier also was used by the FBI in 2016 to secure court approval for surveillance of the Trump campaign, launching a Russia-collusion investigation.

Mr. Schiff read aloud from the dossier during a House hearing on the allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to interfere in the election, charges that ultimately could not be proven by special counsel Robert S. Mueller’s investigation.

Ms. Hill worked closely with Mr. Steele in the 2000s when she was the U.S. national intelligence officer of Russia and he was M16’s Russia chief.

She was shocked that Mr. Steele would undertake such an investigation as going to Moscow to dig up dirt on a U.S. presidential candidate.

“I was shocked to find out that he’d even been [to Moscow] and undertaken this investigation, honestly,” she said.
