ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteJumping Ju-Ju Bones, Santa cancelled the recession!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to the latest data stats from last weekend, Saturday holiday shopping in the U.S. was more than $34.4 billion in sales. That’s the largest single day in the history of U.S. retail sales. Higher wages, record employment, low inflation, consumer confidence and economic security means more disposable income… boy howdy, these numbers are huge.
Keep in mind U.S. retail sales account for two-thirds of U.S. GDP growth. Wow:
(MSM-Bloomberg) Holiday shopping set records over the weekend, with Super Saturday sales reaching $34.4 billion, the biggest single day in U.S. retail history, according to Customer Growth Partners.
“Paced by the ‘Big Four’ mega-retailers — Walmart, Amazon, Costco and Target — Super Saturday was boosted by the best traffic our team has seen in years,” said Craig Johnson, president of the retail research firm.
Job growth and fatter wallets, along with stronger household finances, have put consumers in a buying mood this season, Johnson said. And more of them are shopping online. As retailers offer improved web platforms, online spending so far this season has accounted for 58% of sales growth from a year earlier, he said.
Super Saturday’s results topped Black Friday’s $31.2 billion in sales by 10%. The next biggest shopping days were Dec. 14, with $28.1 billion, and Cyber Monday, with $19.1 billion. (more)
I have been very busy getting ready for our family Christmas dinner,
ReplyDeleteLoaded baked potato casserole, standing prime rib roast with horseradish sauce and au jus gravy. Twice baked loaded mashed potatoes.Fresh cut french green saturated in minced garlic and onion with a touch of soy, brown sugar and bacon. Brie cheese baked in pheyllo dough, pistashio bunt cake, with home made Christmas cookies, banana nut bread. Steamed carrots in brown sugar and a squeeze of orange and eggnog and wine and fresh made from scratch rolls. We will serve 8 people, just the right amount. I have the table all set Christmas songs playing in the back ground with a nice roaring fire to keep us warm when we play games. I am looking forward to cooking for my family. This Christmas just popped out of nowhere
this year. I just finished wrapping gifts this evening. All is good.
Good Morning room 235.....
ReplyDeleteOh and a Merry Christmas to all of you in room 235...
DeleteSounds good Rose... We'll all be heading over to Kansas City tonight.
ReplyDeleteI've been asked again to dress up as Santa. I've also been asked not to scare the kids again like last year.
Humm. I'm not promising anything...
Lol...
You need to scare them! At least you aren't dressing up like the Grinch.
DeleteMerry Christmas Everyone! Thank you all for your friendship and caring!

DeleteI made a last minute stop at Lowes to buy my husband a set of Craftsman flexible, box end wrenches with standard American sizes. I wrote all this down from a description I found on Amazon. I looked at all the wrenches and couldn't find what I wanted so I asked for help. One young man came to help and when I handed him the note with the description written in cursive, he told me he couldn't read it. He handed my note to another young man and he too could not read it. I don't have bad handwriting, they just couldn't read cursive writing. I felt so bad for these young men. They looked ashamed. I wanted to invite them to my house to teach them cursive writing. I guess I am getting old, but still, they should know how to write and read cursive writing. I verbally explained what I wanted and they were very polite and helpful and found the wrenches for me but I left the store feeling like I should have helped them, not the other way around. Now I am wondering if the young people I sent Christmas cards to even know who sent them the card?
ReplyDeleteMust have been polite Dem's, Just saying.....
DeleteNo way, Rose.
ReplyDeleteAnother generation and we'll be able to use cursive as a secret code...
Good Merry Christmas Morning room 235.... And now I go to the News.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sarge...
ReplyDeleteGood Grief it is 50 degrees out, I guess I better service the Mower soon..
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of Christmas...
ReplyDeleteWell just put the Ham in the oven, Put the corn, potatoes, and rolls, and pie in later, Time for a Beer and relax now....
ReplyDeleteham out of the oven, baked beans warming up in the oven (they were done yesterday so flavor could set in real good), got the green beans w/ bacon and diced onion done, soon to make the mashed taters and ham gravy (just do like turkey gravy and add some corn starch)…. got the brown n' serve rolls yet to do.... got the pasta salad done, the jello salad (yes with fruit cocktail and colored marshmellows) done.... the kids will bring the dessert
ReplyDeleteSoon we'll pack up all up, head over to Rick's mom's house -
and pack up the gifts …. good thing we got a 4x4 Ram Truck with a camper shell over the back..... too much stuff for our Charger... hee hee
GO MOPAR :)
RIKKI- Have you ever tried Parker House Rolls? We always had Parker House rolls growing up and I have continued the tradition. Some traditions never die. LOL
DeleteI made a home made pistachio cake with green frosting this year for a change. Don't know if I will do that again. There is something about a green cake that doesn't look very appetizing. We'll have a couple rugby players over for our Christmas dinner and from past experience they are not too fussy about eating a home cooked meal. The the green cake shouldn't be a problem as long as it tastes good. LOL
just got back hone. Will have to try that Rose. :)
DeleteI'm sure your cake will be ok :) I like pistachio.
Now I am doing what I do every year watching Die Hard... Yeepie Kiaha Mother...
ReplyDeleteGood Grief it is coming on again back to back Die Hard...
ReplyDeleteLol... We've been watching back to back Christmas Story all day long.
ReplyDeleteYou'll shoot your eye out kid!!!
Don't forget about the double dog dare and triple dog dare... :)
ReplyDeletedinner was a success :)
ReplyDeleteGrandson loved his gifts :) as did everyone else.
a blessed time with family - wishing I could do the heart emoji like facebook has.... but the 3 and the < together y'all makes a heart <3
Gooooood Morning room 235....
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sarge.
ReplyDeleteThe green cake was a success. Not the prettiest cake I have ever made but everyone "said" they liked it. The husband did a fabulous job cooking the prime rib and it turned out perfect. I was a little worried about him cooking a HUGH slab of meat but he did great job. We had both ovens going and we managed to stay out of each others way. We played Catch Phrase for a couple of hours and we all had a lot of laughs. Dishes all done, put away and the kitchen is all cleaned up and tidy. Another year behind us. Looking forward to 2020!
Rose the wife eats Pistachios by the bag full, so much I wish they were tax deductible, lol I told her about your cake, she made a face Like what? But then she said she might be willing to try it sometime, not sure about the green frosting thou.. Lol Glad you had a great day, all went about the same here... Life is Good.
ReplyDeleteSarge, tell your wife the cake was made from scratch and it called for 4 eggs and sour cream. It was actually very good. The green frosting was cool whip with a half cup of milk and pistachio pudding which made it a light green. Not too sweet and light and airy. Served cold so the frosting firms up and it stayed firm once I removed it from the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteI meant to write HUGE and not HUGH. I am really bad about not checking my spelling. I poke around with one finger because I use my tablet and I hate spellcheck.
https://www.thecountrycook.net/pistachio-cake/
ReplyDeleteI have made this version of pistachio cake a few years back and it turned out very good. I used this recipe for my frosting but I made a white French vanilla cake instead of the boxed recipe listed in the link above. I have a huge bottle of Mexican vanilla so I made my cake from scratch because I like Mexican vanilla, but that is not necessary. This recipe is a lot simpler and it is equally as good.
https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/pistachio-cake/
ReplyDeleteThis is the from scratch recipe.
Thanks Rose, may give a try sometime, I copy and pasted all that to my Recipe book. You are a nice lady!!! 🎄🎅🙄
ReplyDeleteWell, I survived my 69th Christmas! It was fun but man, I'm glad it is over! Now, back to bah-humbug! :) I think, on January 2nd, I will put in for vacation time for next Christmas! This one day, in the middle of the week, to celebrate Christmas is just not right for people with families! At least it is not Monday today!
ReplyDeleteWe spent Christmas down in LA with the family. What a blast. This is why we moved here. Nothing like a five year old Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteWe even spent Christmas Eve with a couple of friends of our kids. They are hard core liberals, hate the President. The subject never came up. We ate, and drank, and talked. They are very interesting people. She works on TV shows and various media and he is a professional musician. He produced the music for a bunch of Hallmark movies this year. We talked a little politics, finding some things we actually had in common.
It was a great time. We laughed and had much fun. It just proves to me we may be far apart politically with the left, but we can still enjoy each other's company if we just leave the politics alone. I don't know what this means, really, but it was a really fun night. I have to give this some thought to figure out what it all means.
So I'm spending today helping the son-in-law put up TVs. He decided he had to replace all his TVs with new fancy ones. We have a wall mount to install and get the others on the existing mounts. Must be nice to have that kind of money. Just go out and buy three new TVs just like that. But I get to do some handyman work which makes me happy. So it's fun for all.
Merry Christmas to all. We'll be heading home probably Friday, it's snowing up in the high country so we can't get through the pass to get home until it stops and they plow it.
But it's been a fun Christmas. And it was worth everything we did to get here.
That's what counts, Just don't become a Liberal Bub!! Hear Me...
DeleteHappy all went well for my friend. Have a Happy New Year as well.
Glad that it is fun and has worked out so well for you Safe! That is called , living your dreams!
DeleteAfter reading these posts it appears we all are very fortunate to have family and friends available to share these special celebrations. It makes my heart happy knowing y'all are happy. I know Vent is looking down and smiling as he watches us argue the political facts and then smiles when we become tender in heart when we share our precious moments with family and friends. We all know time matters and time spent with people who care about us and those we care about is the most important part of living our lives. May y'all have happy hearts. And don't forget about the fur babies.
ReplyDeleteGot home from KC about an hour ago. Had a wonderful time, ate way too much. It's always nice to get everybody together but it's also nice to get back home.
ReplyDeleteI hear that nothing like being home sweet home.
DeleteTrue story...
ReplyDeleteGoodnight all...
Good night Keven talk to you in the morning, rest well...
ReplyDeleteKevin!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Room 235''''
ReplyDeleteThat's right you all sleep in I'll guard the fort...
ReplyDeleteWell Nap Time...
ReplyDeleteThey are going to use McCain and blame him and his legacy for passing the dossier.
ReplyDeleteThat's why the left embraced him at the end. His Obama care vote, amnesty votes, and now being the dupe who passes the dossier back to the FBI.
You watch, that's their out on the dossier. They are going to blame a republican.
And a dead one...
Well, McCain might have been a Republican but he let his hatred of Trump get the best of him...
ReplyDeleteYup and Yup!!
ReplyDeleteMcCain was one of the lead Swamp Dwellers.
ReplyDeletePeople that I am so glad, never became President: 1. Hillary 2. Algore 3. John Kerry 4. John McCain.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that there were a lot of others but right now, I can't think of them!
Oh yeah, I forgot, Mittens!!
DeleteI agree with all that Gary.
DeleteAlthough he died a bitter old man, I believe McCain was honorable in his love for the USA. His confinement warped him
ReplyDeleteMany of us are warped also due to our service. I can understand President Trump's statement as I can also understand McCain's reaction to it. I will never give that POS Kerry the same respect. He is worse than even Hanoi Jane. He received medals he didn't earn and he aided and abetted the enemy when some of us were being shot at.
yes McCain was a bitter hate filled man. His hate carried over into his funeral service via his daughter who still carries the "hate torch" today.
DeleteSad.
Something you won't see on the Liberal Biased news....

True Trump victories: A year-end review
By Jennifer Harper - The Washington Times - Thursday, December 26, 2019
The news media is not keen on reporting positive news about President Trump and his administration. Yet Mr. Trump’s victories continue to pile up whether the press reports them or not. What follows is a small compendium of those significant and fact-driven victories, as reported in Inside the Beltway in the final weeks of 2019. Without further ado, a few recent examples:
• Oct. 16: Data from Moody’s Analytics, based on three different economic models, now predicts a bodacious win for President Trump in 2020.
“Trump looks likely to cruise to reelection next year under three different economic models Moody’s Analytics employed to gauge the 2020 race. Barring anything unusual happening, the president’s Electoral College victory could easily surpass his 2016 win over Democrat Hillary Clinton, which came by a 304-227 count,” CNBC finance editor Jeff Cox writes in his analysis of the Moody’s prediction, which also finds Mr. Trump winning in 35 states, including such key locales as Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
“If the economy a year from now is the same as it is today, or roughly so, then the power of incumbency is strong and Trump’s election odds are very good, particularly if Democrats aren’t enthusiastic and don’t get out to vote. It’s about turnout,” observes Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics.
• Nov. 5: Military veterans have consistently positive sentiments about President Trump — a dynamic factor that could come into play in the 2020 election. Indeed, military vets make up 13% of the entire voting population — and the vets feel pretty good about Mr. Trump.
Part 2 of ??
ReplyDeleteA Pew Research Center survey released in July found that 57% of veterans approve of the job Mr. Trump is doing. Among Republican veterans, the number is an astonishing 92%.
“Approval of Trump does not differ significantly by era of military service. Looking specifically at veterans who served before 9/11 and those whose service extended beyond 9/11, nearly identical shares say they approve of the way Trump is handling his job as commander in chief. In addition, there is no significant gap in views between veterans who served as commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers or those who were enlisted,” the pollsters said.
• Nov. 6: A surprise demographic emerged in the 2016 election, and that was the 65 million people who marched to the polls and voted for President Trump, to the surprise of many flabbergasted analysts and pollsters. More importantly, Trump fans have not gone away, and neither has their enthusiasm.
“Trump supporters won’t be swayed — by anything,” declares New York Post analyst Bob Fredericks.
“Sixty-two percent of people who approve of the job President Trump is doing say that there would be nothing the commander in chief could do to shake their support, according to a Monmouth University poll,” writes Mr. Fredericks.
• Nov. 19: The news media has an appetite for the impeachment hearings against President Trump. This trend is not lost on voters, who must bear witness to relentless coverage that is often repetitive and loaded with the anti-Trump narrative of the day or strategic buzzwords like “collusion” and “bribery.”
Six-out-of-10 voters now agree that the impeachment hearings are “more important to the media” than to voters. Even 44% of Democrats agree with that. So says a new Politico/Morning Consult poll conducted after the first week of hearings ended.
Looks like Part 3 of 3... :)
ReplyDelete• Dec. 3: Writer and historian Doug Wead has written “Inside Trump’s White House: The Real Story of His Presidency” — which relied on in-person interviews with the president himself, his family and staff. The author previously has interviewed six presidents, and now calls Mr. Trump “the most impactful president in modern American history” by virtue of his unwavering work ethic.
“President Trump has a powerful history, and it blows away anonymous accounts,” Mr. Wead tells Inside the Beltway, describing the Trump era as one of “stunning” and “beautiful” peace and prosperity. He also says Mr. Trump is transforming the office of the presidency thorough his hands-on approach and frank, independent communications to the public, which skirt the press via social media.
• Dec. 17: Americans are rejecting impeachment. A new CNN poll now reveals that support for the impeachment of President Trump has fallen by 5 percentage points in the last three weeks — dropping from 50% to 45% since Nov. 24. Another 48% say there is not enough evidence to impeach Mr. Trump, while 47% say he should not be impeached at all.
Support has dropped among Democrat voters by double-digits,” writes Daily Signal analyst Ryan Saavedra in review of the findings.
The numbers: Support for Mr. Trump’s impeachment and removal from office fell from 90% to 77% among Democrats. Meanwhile, out of eight major polls monitored by Real Clear Politics, only two now suggest that a bare majority of voters still think Mr. Trump should be impeached.
“Support for impeachment is officially underwater,” declares Tom Bevan, co-founder and president of Real Clear Politics.
• Dec. 23: The romance between American voters and the burgeoning Trump economy has intensified. The political implications are many — and none other than CNN spells things out.
“As 2019 comes to a close, the U.S. economy earns its highest ratings in almost two decades, potentially boosting President Trump in matchups against the Democrats vying to face him in next year’s election,” writes Grace Sparks, an associate producer for CNN.
It’s not just loyal Republicans who are swooning over the economy, though. A new poll from the network found that 76% of Americans say the economy is good, That includes 97% of Republicans, 88% of conservatives, 75% of independents, 80% of moderates, 62% of Democrats and 56% of liberals. Everybody’s pretty happy.
Another 68% overall say the economy will still be good a year from now. That includes: 89% of Republicans, 84% of conservatives, 68% of independents, 69% of moderates, 52% of Democrats and 48% of liberals. The CNN poll of 1,005 U.S. adults was conducted Dec. 12-15, right in the middle of the impeachment wars.
• Dec. 26: Three-out-of-four voters (73%) say Mr. Trump is unlikely to be forced out of the presidency, with 47% who feel it’s not at all likely, says a Rasmussen Reports survey of 1,000 voters conducted Dec. 22-23. Sixty percent of Democrats also see Mr. Trump’s removal from office as unlikely, as do 81% of Republicans and 78% of independents.
• Happy New Year, and thank you for reading Inside the Beltway.

The part that I want Blue and his many aliases to come to grips with is this true fact that the article above is quite clear in pointing out....
DeleteDonald Trump's re-election to President is very strong.
The multitudes of supporters for Donald Trump has not waned, in fact his supporters have increased greatly.
It is a shame millions of so called voters will never know or even accept the information in your post, Rikki. As for Meghan I do not give her the same consideration as her father. I am not too fond of her mother Cindy either.
ReplyDeleteThank you Thomas. I agree with what you posted too.
DeleteGood Grief, all I can say is most if not all here know all that, You need to drop it on a commie Liberal blog some place. Just saying 😂
ReplyDeletelol Sarge :)
Deletebut that would take all the fun out messing with the minds of the shadow dwelling cowards that lurk around this blog.... hee hee :)
P.S Just in case don't that personally.. :):)
Deleteno I didn't take that personal... (hugs)
Deletehere's something more for our shadow dwelling cowards:
ReplyDeleteFacts speak for themselves loudly, regardless of what the Liberal Biased news outlets what the whole of America to believe....
1. More Americans working thanks to President Trump!
2. Unemployment is at its lowest in more than a half century!
3. TAX CUTS!
4. Our Southern Border Wall is being worked on to help secure our Country!
5. President Trump has more supporters now than in 2016!
You're on fire today girl! Pretty good reads from you this morning.
DeleteThanks Hammer :)

ReplyDeleteLittle humor for the day. Well, it's funny to me. Most of you have probably seen it by now on FB.
It's just plain funny to see an antifa guy in a pink "Dora the explorer" backpack try to detain a gentleman in camo and a 4x4.
I don't recommend that... Lol
This guy was nice, too.
Even Satan himself knows not to touch my rig.
I wouldn't of been so nice.

If it were me.... handsome hubby would have a longated time working on additions to the dog house! (lol)
Anyone want to post their thoughts? :)
lemme guess... the article made y'all cringe :)
ReplyDeleteit did me too, I did call Rick and all he could say was "you're kidding right?"
basically, just my opinion y'all.... i wouldn't pull a prank like that on my hubby, nor he on me... but I'm sure the wife in the article is going to do something - her hubby best sleep with one eye open :)
just for laughs :)
ReplyDeleteWhen our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, making beer.. Always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into
the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.
Well time to limp out of here for the night, Good night room 235...
