She'll always be your little girl...

Good grief, here I was getting ready for another political rant.

I had the memes and videos all lined up.

It was going to be epic, I tell ya.

But then it happened.

I came across a couple of videos on Facebook and all of a sudden the politics of the day didn't seem all that important.

I mean, what the hell, we all know what's going on in the world today.

And yes, it all sucks.

But today, just for a little while anyway, I'd like to focus on one of the greatest gifts a man could ever have.

His daughter.

Yeah, sons are great. No doubt about it.

But when they grow up and start raising families of their own they tend to be a little stand offish.

It's a guy thing.

But a daughter, no matter how old they get, how grown up and busy with their own lives they become, they'll always and forever remain your little girl.

That's just a fact.

I dare you to watch today's video and just try not to smile.

In fact, I double dog dare ya.

Now get out there and enjoy your day...

Kevin McGinty

  6. Lol... You give me way too much credit, Sarge.

It made my day as well. And like you I have to get busy mowing.

To tell you the truth though I was kinda hoping for a rainy day...

  7. I'll watch the video after I get home Kevin, but i'm sure it's a really good one. Rick & I only have our two sons....

As a daughter though, I was closer to my beautiful mom than my dad - she was the one who through thick and thin was the glue who held us together -not so my dad.... and a child will cling to the parent who is the rock of stability, support, and love.

Kevin sounds like your daughter has an awesome Dad -

Rick has been an awesome dad to our two sons - and he & I have been a unified team raising them from the get go.

Sarge :) you are right, Kevin always come through in a pinch.

  8. Well Kevin I am done mowing and I did it with my New Ryobi 40 volt lawn more, and only used 1/2 of the Battery power, looks better and doesn't beat the shit out of me like my Tractor does. It is light and folds up to store. No gas or oil and real quite. No problem in tall grass. Life gets easier.

    1. Lol, Skipper some things are just so much easier on old people I have went to most of my cored tools to battery operated tools. And I use Ryobi because batteries work in almost all their tools and can use the same charger.

  14. Room 235
A newlywed young man was sitting on the porch on a humid day, sipping ice tea with his father.

As he talked about adult life, marriage, responsibilities, and obligations, the father thoughtfully stirred the ice cubes in his glass and cast a clear, sober look on his son.

"Never forget your friends," he advised, "they will become more important as you get older." “Regardless of how much you love your family, you will always need friends. Remember to go out with them occasionally (if possible), but keep in contact with them somehow.

"What strange advice!" thought the young man. "I just entered the married world. I am an adult and surely my wife and the family that we will start will be everything I need to make sense of my life."

Yet, he obeyed his father; kept in touch with his friends and annually increased their number. Over the years, he became aware that his father knew what he was talking about. In as much as time and nature carry out their designs and mysteries on a person, friends are the bulwarks of our life.

After 70+ years of life, here is what he, you and I will have learned:

    Time passes.

    Life goes on.

Children grow up. They cease to be children and become independent.

And to the parents, it breaks their hearts but the children are separated from the parents because they begin their own families.

    Jobs/careers come and go.

    Illusions, desires, attraction, sex....weaken.

People can't do what they did physically when they were young.

Parents die, but you move on.

Colleagues forget the favors you did.

    The race to achieve slows.

But, true friends are always there, no matter how long or how many miles away they are. A friend is never more distant than the reach of a need, intervening in your favour, waiting for you with open arms or in some way blessing your life.

When we started this adventure called LIFE, we did not know of the incredible joys or sorrows that were ahead. We did not know how much we would need from each other. Love your parents, take care of your family, but keep a group of good friends. Stay in touch with them. Send this to your friends (even those you seldom see) who help make sense of your life....

    I just did.

  15. Thank you Sarge! Good advice for all! That is one thing that I think is most positive about being on Facebook. I have re-kindled friendships that have always been there, I just did not always know how to get in touch with them. You probably have always known when someone becomes a friend for life and it makes you appreciate them so much more when you can catch up with them. Going to my 50th High School reunion this year! Wow! Talk about a lot of catching up to do!

  16. Good morning all. I have been watching the libtards going around chasing their own tails and wondering if they really like smelling their own rears that much. Or maybe they now know that they cant get Trump for any thing and have a new so called idea. They are going to nit pick and lie to try and get under his skin hoping that then he will go off and do something they can use for an impeachment. They will keep lying and digging for the least little thing so they can make it a mountain.

      Funny to watch.
But infuriating as to what she did, and has done before.
      Glad for her.

  19. It's funny to see ol shot gun Joe memes.

My instinct says it will be a Trump vs Sanders race. Just my perspective and what I see and hear on the ground.

Then again, maybe the dems are dumb enough to do it twice. Block him, I mean. This time it might self inflict damage to the DNC.

    Win-win-win

  20. I think the libs want ole Joe bite me to run so they can get rid of Bernnie. They know Bern wont make it against Trump. They are really just throwing people up against the wall and hoping one of them will come out alive. The whole bunch is a joke. And yhea I hope they do cut Bernnie' throat. He will take them down with him unless he gets bought out again like he did with Hillary. But his followers may very well have other options.

  21. LOL Wonder who they will pick Cory Booker and Eric Swalwell pledge to pick women running mates if they win the 2020 Democratic nomination. Thing is they both cant win and neither one will come out with a VP pick before any of the debates. So
