A little "Life Lesson" for those of you who refuse to accept reality...

Early this morning our good friend and fellow patriot from the great state of Texas, Texas Rose shared a story of her and her husband getting together with some Australian friends.

We met up with two Australian friends last weekend. They were excited to see Texas because they heard of our Texas pride and they heard Texas was mostly conservative. They told us their current election was similar to our election during the 2015-2016 period. Bashing conservatives was common place in their country, but they felt the conservatives would come out ahead. They were right!

Note: They called themselves Liberal/National's which is like our republican party here. They were against the climate change garbage.

Well, Australia had their election.

The Australian people spoke and made their choices clear.

Now I'm going to post two very short (but important) videos to demonstrate how things in a reality based world are supposed to work.

The first video is Prime Minister Scott Morrison thanking the Australian people for their trust and support.

The second (and probably the most important one) is his opponent Bill Shorten acknowledging the results of last night's election. and wishing the Prime Minister well.

See how that works?

The Australian people made their choice.

The losing side accepts the will of the people and goes back to reorganize, strategize and try to figure out how to do better the next time around.

It's unfortunate the American left (the Ian Williams') of the world aren't able to accept the reality they were handed in November of 2016.

Instead they started out by attacking the electoral college which has served this country well since it's founding.

They screamed racism.

To this day they continue to attack literally tens of millions of their fellow American citizens.

Their never-ending attempts to try to overturn the will of the people have brought nothing but hatred  and division to this country.

Their made up Russian collusion conspiracy turned obstruction of justice bullshit is destroying the very fabric of our founding.

They cry and scream "Constitutional Crisis" every day of the week.

They are correct though. As a nation we are being consumed, torn apart, and turned against each other by a constitutional crisis.

But it's one of their making.

Not ours.

That leaves us with two very distinct options.

1) The radical left follows Australia's lead and accepts the will of the people.

2) They must be so thoroughly defeated in 2020 to the point they're forced and crawl back into the holes they crawled out from.

Obviously I have no idea what the future has in store for us.

But I can give you a snap shot of what it might look like by closing with a very simple question.

Since winning back control of the House last year can you name a single thing the democrats done to improve the lives of the American people?

I'll wait...

Well, yesterday was a day. Our youngest had his bday party. Had two graduation parties in the afternoon. Impressed by some of the graduates of T-high '19. More and more younger people with brains out there.

Definitely bittersweet. Our family is blessed with good times, but nothing in my power can make them less fleeting or forever good. Kids grow fast.
    Yesterday was good.
    Yesterday, was a reminder.

Well, we had a little rain here in sunny California. Nothing like you guys, but a little. We spent yesterday up in our soon to be community just getting to know the area. Went to the Kern County History Museum. Ended up spending an hour talking to one of the volunteers about the history of the area. Fascinating. The folks there are nice people. Not like the rest of California. Mostly retired people, conservative, Trump people. I love the area. We won't get our house until July 1, so for now we're stuck in smelly Bakersfield. But every time we go up there to visit we end up spending the day and having a blast. I think we picked a great area to live.

I mentioned already, but they are gun friendly up there. You can get a conceal carry pretty easily. And a lot of folks do.

The area was founded on gold mining and when the gold ran out lots of miners stayed and formed a town. Now several towns built around a huge lake. Total population about 20K or so.

Looked into taking a raft ride down the mighty Kern river. They run constantly in the summer. Looks like a blast. We're going to give it a shot one of these days.

Found out I've got a little heart problem, Cardiologist wants to do an angiogram. Maybe something, maybe nothing. But usually something that can be fixed. Probably a blockage he thinks. So we'll be putting off the exciting activities until that gets resolved. Found out it takes two weeks to get the insurance approval, even though the Doc thinks it needs to be done ASAP. But that's what it takes. Did some moron say Medicare for all? Yeah. Sounds like a great idea. Bet folks will love that. Until they don't and then it will be too late because America will be so far down that sinkhole there will be no turning back. But then, that's how the commies do it. They do it in small bites until the damage is virtually irreversible.

On a side not, that comrade bedpan sure does post a lot for a guy who swears he never read this blog. And promises he's going away forever. And then here he is, vomiting up the black bile that is democrat/communist taking points and lies. Wish he would just do what he says and go away. But dem/coms never do what they say they are going to do. They lie when it would be easier to tell the truth. He's just one of millions of commie lapdogs doing the bidding of the apparatus. Just one more useful idiot unable to function in a free world like the rest of us, so he longs for a world controlled by the government, imagining they are smarter than him and more capable of running his life. And in his case that might actually be true.

    MAGA BABY!!!

  10. Got a message from my Australian friends and they tell me they are partying in the streets due to the election. My friends stopped off in Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, California to see San Fran and then visited Memphis Tenn. They loved the United States, but they said San Fran was a hugh let down. I told them to watch out for the poop on the streets. They loved Fort Worth and felt at home with the friendly people and great food. Both work for NASA, yes they are rocket scientists, and they are smart, that is why they vote conservative. They plan to visit again in the fall and they want to visit the New England states. We may join them in the fall. Great place to visit to see the fall colors. My husband and I are not big drinkers, but these guys can throw back some pints of beer. We (I) had a great time in Fort Worth watching the handsome cowboys herd the hugh longhorns down the street. Fun times.

Here's something for ole' blue - who sticks up for Obama and his Administration as honest and transparent, yada yada yada....

Do y'all remember this little gem from 2016?

    https://freebeacon.com/national-security/attorney-general-lynch-pleads-fifth-secret-iran-ransom-payments/?fbclid=IwAR2AFU60Z_hPV8tR7R0JEejolTD85cykwgXWsy84o8lTmWeY_PanhNnqfEw

    Congress: Attorney General
Lynch ‘Pleads Fifth’ on Secret Iran ‘Ransom’ Payments
Obama admin blocking congressional probe into cash payments to Iran

BY: Adam Kredo October 28, 2016 11:22 am
Attorney General Loretta Lynch is declining to comply with an investigation by leading members of Congress about the Obama administration's secret efforts to send Iran $1.7 billion in cash earlier this year, prompting accusations that Lynch has "pleaded the Fifth" Amendment to avoid incriminating herself over these payments, according to lawmakers and communications exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) and Rep. Mike Pompeo (R., Kan.) initially presented Lynch in October with a series of questions about how the cash payment to Iran was approved and delivered.

In an Oct. 24 response, Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik responded on Lynch's behalf, refusing to answer the questions and informing the lawmakers that they are barred from publicly disclosing any details about the cash payment, which was bound up in a ransom deal aimed at freeing several American hostages from Iran.

The response from the attorney general's office is "unacceptable" and provides evidence that Lynch has chosen to "essentially plead the fifth and refuse to respond to inquiries regarding [her] role in providing cash to the world's foremost state sponsor of terrorism," Rubio and Pompeo wrote on Friday in a follow-up letter to Lynch, according to a copy obtained by the Free Beacon.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ok, Part 2 of 3

The inquiry launched by the lawmakers is just one of several concurrent ongoing congressional probes aimed at unearthing a full accounting of the administration's secret negotiations with Iran.

"It is frankly unacceptable that your department refuses to answer straightforward questions from the people's elected representatives in Congress about an important national security issue," the lawmakers wrote. "Your staff failed to address any of our questions, and instead provided a copy of public testimony and a lecture about the sensitivity of information associated with this issue."

"As the United States' chief law enforcement officer, it is outrageous that you would essentially plead the fifth and refuse to respond to inquiries," they stated. "The actions of your department come at time when Iran continues to hold Americans hostage and unjustly sentence them to prison."

The lawmakers included a copy of their previous 13 questions and are requesting that Lynch provide answers by Nov. 4.

When asked about Lynch's efforts to avoid answering questions about the cash payment, Pompeo told the Free Beacon that the Obama administration has blocked Congress at every turn as lawmakers attempt to investigate the payments to Iran.

"Who knew that simple questions regarding Attorney General Lynch's approval of billions of dollars in payments to Iran could be so controversial that she would refuse to answer them?" Pompeo said. "This has become the Obama administration's coping mechanism for anything related to the Islamic Republic of Iran—hide information, obfuscate details, and deny answers to Congress and the American people."

    ReplyDelete
  13. Part 3 of 3

"They know this isn't a sustainable strategy, however, and I trust they will start to take their professional, and moral, obligations seriously," the lawmaker added.

In the Oct. 24 letter to Rubio and Pompeo, Assistant Attorney General Kadzik warned the lawmakers against disclosing to the public any information about the cash payment.

Details about the deal are unclassified, but are being kept under lock and key in a secure facility on Capitol Hill, the Free Beacon first disclosed. Lawmakers and staffers who have clearance to view the documents are forced to relinquish their cellular devices and are barred from taking any notes about what they see.

"Please note that these documents contain sensitive information that is not appropriate for public release," Kadzik wrote to the lawmakers. "Disclosure of this information beyond members of the House and Senate and staff who are able to view them could adversely affect the diplomatic relations of the United States, including with key allies, as well as the State Department's ability to defend [legal] claims against the United States [by Iran] that are still being litigated at the Hague Tribunal."

"The public release of any portion of these documents, or the information contained therein, is not authorized by the transmittal of these documents or by this communication," Kadzik wrote.

Congressional sources have told the Free Beacon that this is another part of the effort to hide details about these secret negotiations with Iran from the American public.

One senior congressional source familiar with both the secret documents and the inquiry into them told the Free Beacon that the details of the negotiations are so damning that the administration's best strategy is to ignore lawmakers' requests for more information.

"Every Obama administration official and department involved in the Iran Deal appear to be running for cover," the source said. "Like we feared, the [Iran deal] is turning out to be a disaster and Iran is emboldened in its aggression. Evidently Attorney General Lynch and the Department of Justice have decided ‘refusal to cooperate' is their best strategy. But this is dangerous and ultimately won't protect them from anything."

Update: The headline has been updated to more accurately characterize the story.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The Democratic House cannot say that about AG Barr..... He hasn't plead the 5th like the cowardly Loretta Lynch and the Justice Department under Obama.

There's a stark difference between AG Barr refusing to testify before the House Committee and Loretta Lynch pleading the 5th.

AG Barr has been honest, honorable, and transparent from the beginning - Loretta Lynch well.... took the coward's way out and why the Republicans at that time didn't pursue this is just beyond me.

I'm hoping that AG Barr looks into this bit of dirt that was swept under the political rug.

Did the mowing that evening and avoided the rain that we started getting the next morning. Did some R&R on Saturday. Then Sunday, I had received a call that my screen door, that I had taken to Ace Hdwe. to get fixed, was done. Went and picked it up. Was wearing my gym shorts, so did not have a decent pocket to put my wallet in, so I held it in my hand. Picked up the screen, put it in the bed of the pick-up, had laid my wallet on the bed of the truck while doing that. I shut the tail-gate but that is the last time I can remember seeing my wallet. Went straight home. Never thought about it for several hours until I had to go somewhere again. Looked for my wallet and could not find it anywhere! I know it HAS to be around the house or in the pick-up somewhere, but can't locate it. Now suspending my debit and credit cards, hoping that I can find it! Will have to take off work to get my driver's license replaced. What a way to screw up a decent weekend! How many times is a person allowed to misplace stuff before they are considered senile? :)

  25. The disinformation here is just off the reservation. The entire political continuum in Australia is way to the left of the U.S. And I would add that this is normally the case in the advanced world. Let me clear up your misunderstanding -

1- Gun control. Neither Morrison nor his party have any desire to change Australia's strict gun control laws. " Morrison said on Twitter that Australia's gun laws would not change."

    2. Australia does indeed have nationalized health care.
From something easy to confirm, Wiki -

"Health care in Australia is delivered, operated and funded by the Australian Government and state and territory governments, as well as by the private sector and not-for-profit organisations. Governments fund the majority of spending (67%) through Medicare and other programs".

Will Morrison change that ? Doesn't look like it. The Aussies like their system just fine. In fact, he is going to increase funding in certain targeted areas:

" With health perennially a challenging election issue for the Coalition, Scott Morrison has announced $1.25 billion extra funding he says will provide more doctors, nurses and services.
Under a new Community Health and Hospitals Program, the federal government will partner with communities, states and territories, health and hospital services and research institutions to supply funding in four areas. They are:
    • specialist hospital services such as cancer treatment, rural health and hospital infrastructure
    • drug and alcohol treatment
    • preventive, primary and chronic disease management

    3. Climate change . Morrison is on board, and Australia is a signatory to the Paris Accords.

    His Platform " •
    Climate change and energy
    • Climate Solutions Package. This is the Coalition’s central emissions reduction policy and will cost $3.5 billion over 15 years. Measures include a climate solutions fund – an extension of the existing emissions reduction fund. The scheme pays farmers and others to reduce carbon dioxide emissions through activities such as improving energy efficiency or increasing native vegetation.
    • Emissions target.
    • RELATED ARTICLE
    • o shortlistThe Coalition has committed Australia to reduce its emissions by 26 per cent on 2005 levels by 2030, in line with the Paris targets

So... if you think Australia just elected some right wing lunatic, you're simply wrong. Morrison in fact is probably to the left of most Democrats.

Lastly, Pete Buttigieg appeared at a Fox town hall meeting and pretty much won the crowd. The Democratic party has ideas; the republicans not so much. But when someone like Buttigieg starts winning over conservatives, you had better start getting nervous. People are getting fed up with childish antics of this moron in the White House. Now even Republican Senators like Justin Amash wants Trump impeached. "Nothing to see here...move along". Stop being played for fools. And start educating yourselves.

  26. So Australia's political spectrum is to the left of ours. It remains a fact that their electorate chose the more conservative alternative this weekend.

'Cause when I go visiting, I kind of liked Budapest, Vienna and Gdansk in the last year. I'm sort of a fan of Orban Viktor myself. How about you? Now Latvia doesn't have much in the way of asylum seekers there. Too far out of the way and lacking in lavish benefits, well, the asylum seekers are more wanting those benefits, not too sure they want any jobs. But Hungary ... . Orban has dealt with that.

I don't know if the Mayor won the town meeting over on his ideas. Probably more his military service (rare for a Dim/Dum/Dem these days) and being a fresh face. But whatever, I've already compared him favorably to the rest of that crowd wanting to be President. But hey, by predicting such, perhaps I DO have clairvoyant powers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, the electorate of Australia chose the more conservative candidate. That's like saying in choosing say, Kamala Harris over Bernie Sanders, the Democrats chose a conservative !! I seriously doubt the regular posters here have put this man's politics in context. I can say of the Aussies I've known, they find America's political climate toxic, detest Trump, and more than anything find our gun policies absolutely insane. After Sandy Hook and the slaughter of 5 year old children, they were disgusted by the lack of an appropriate political response. They went through the same sort of even a few years ago, and took immediate action. There have been no mass shootings since, and handgun violence is a tiny fraction of ours.

No I don't suppose you do know if "the Mayor" won the town meeting. But sadly for you, the consensus is that he did. And I would add that he did so in part by absolutely slamming this clown con man in the White House. His military service ? He's not the only Democrat running for the WH with military service, and in light of Republican policy makers of the last 25 years or so - no, I mean the REAL policy makers, Cheney, Bolton, Trump, they were all draft dodgers. The conservative punditry such as it is, is even worse - Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ted Nugent, Giuliani.... all in for war.. that someone else should go fight. I don't mind repeating myself, if, and I will repeat IF more conservative types show a higher degree of military service I would argue that this is because the economies in Red states generally suck. They have few options. As an aside, California has celebrated its first year of having the 5th, yes, FIFTH largest economy in the world. And it's as blue as they come. Who comes in last ? Alabama. I would recommend those underpaid Walmart workers in T Town to consider taking advantage of new job opportunities likely to open up in old Alabamy - open a hangar factory.

    2. So now there is a new (?) poster, "ProudlyDeplorable". Your posts today are so typical of someone who emerges from the normal rants from the sandbox that is this blog, you know - " Yeah, well Blue, go fug yerself", and tries to get all intellectual. And as is normally the case you take a pretty big pratfall. I began responding to McGinty's blog years ago when it was published by the Capital Journal. It wasn't a bad blog, and the exchange of ideas was reasonably healthy. This blog is a sort of opioid - it gives its members the feeling that their ideas are the norm, and they are in fact, the only "real" Americans. Many comments are not too subtly racist, and show a strong affinity for authority ( How did that clinical rotation in psychiatry go for you ProudlyDeplorable ?). I have a very hard time seeing what republicans have done to my home state and town, and I hate to keep silent.

I believe it was Buttigieg at the Fox Town Hall meeting who said Trump is like a "grotesque thing, it's tough to look away". This blog has become something like that. He also said regarding Trump's typically sophomoric behavior, name calling, absurd tweets... " I don't care ". Well, my response to the frankly pathetic rants and name calling here is much the same. I showed the blog some time ago to a psychiatric social worker at W> Reed. She was not as others have been, amused. She said, I've never seen so many sad people in my life. I wouldn't go that far. But I did see her point.

The most common emotion I sense here is fear. I am not for open borders, and said that even during the CJ days. That said, I'm not so thick that I can't see both sides speaking out of both sides of their mouths. You think Republican businessmen don't want significant numbers of legal or illegal Latino workers ? You're living in a dream world. But here's the deal - I mentioned California. Its economy is booming. It is also now a majority-minority state. Yes, that means Latinos are the single largest block, but still below 50% of the population. Washington state has a large East Asian population. Both states, deeply blue are among the top performers economically in the country, California being #1. You may cite some crap from Fox, "people are fleeing California, there's shit in the streets of San Francisco ! Eeeuuww.. crazy people ". Give it a rest. People leave California generally for the same reason - they have been priced out and can no longer afford to live there. When you can live in a reasonable apartment for $700 a month, you're in trouble. It's a reflection of demand. No surprise, Kansas is dirt cheap. It doesn't have to be that way. But nearly everyone here continues to hold it back.

    3. Different countries have different political traditions. Simple as that. You keep bringing up foreigners who are aghast at the American polity. Funny I never seem to run into these people when I'm actually IN Europe or the Middle East. I wonder why?

Don't you find it odd that you lecture ME about military service?

If you find Cali so wonderful, I'm sure they've physicians there. I suggest you look, you seem to admire it so. One of our number has gone there and seems to like it. I'm sure you'd choose a different part of it.

Besides, do I seem "afraid" of much? And someone thinks I'm "sad?" Jesus Jenny, I've an academic and military resume that some would kill for and I'm retiring to Europe next year. Do you think I would trade places with HER?

You'd better try to stop me as I make my own sortie into Blue territory at the end of the month. First to Baltimore - Washington Int'l to link up with some Blue friends, then back to Amherst for a long weekend. Part of what makes me "sad" I suppose. Haw, Haw, Haw!!

Closing down the CJ version of Room 235 was hardly Kevin's fault. The credit for that goes to CJ itself. Now you like to go on about the decline of T-Town - The CJ is a shell of it's former self. I read the Salina Journal more often than it; and with good reason.

They also thrive on manipulation and they only show up just to get attention from you while they clearly don’t care about you. They are also very critical of everyone and are unwilling to change. So IAN what's your problem asshole?

Kind of toxic huh Dr. ProudlyDeporable ?

Evidently, "I am jealous of the people who frequent this blog".
Right. I live an hour and a half drive from the mountains. About an hour in traffic to the bay, and two and a half hours from the Delaware beach resorts. New York is not far, and can be reached by high speed rail in two hours forty five minutes.

My wife and I have both worked very hard to get the things that mean something to us. This is a very expensive place to live. That's because everybody seems to want to live here.

    5. Actually Ian/Anonymous, I hit the nail on the head when I said that you're jealous of the people who frequent this blog. It doesn't matter where you are located geographically, and it doesn't matter what materialistic things you have in your possession, you can take the boy out of Topeka, KS but you can not take Topeka, KS out of the boy. Deep down you have a need / desire to be back here where your roots are (I'm right on this and you know it deep down to be true).

And I was spot on in my diagnosis of you and your toxic mentality and narcissistic persona. Also, Kevin McGinty is right, you do also suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

Taking that first step in admitting that you are a toxic person and narcissistic and also suffering from TDS is a big step but not an impossible one. You must admit that to yourself first and foremost before you can move to the next circle of getting well.

    6. Ian, getting you past your denial of the truth is the biggest and hardest step but it's not impossible for you to achieve. The longer you fight the truth, the longer you will remain in denial of the truth. You are an interesting subject of study for toxic mentality, TDS, and narcissism. I've never had a patient with all three at the same time. This is going to take a lot of work to get you past your denial.

    7. And yes Ian, you are the cause of why the people who frequent this blog react to you like they do. It's true Ian, what you are doing is a text book "cause and effect" situation. Your toxic mentality causes those here to produce the effect of reacting to you. It's all about you wanting to draw attention to yourself to satisfy whatever it is that you are lacking in your life.

  35. Storms will roll through later this evening here in my neck of the woods. The creek that fliws through the neighborhood is past its brim. We live on the high side but the rain, high winds and hail caused damage to a number of homes last saturday. We were out of town and when we came home we saw a number of tree limbs down in the neighborhood. People are reporting the turtles from the creek are ending up in their yards. I have a mysterous leak in my hallway in the center of my house. Two toilets are leaking from the bottom but the third toilet is okay. I think it has something to do with the heavy rains and water table, maybe a leak in the main pipe or a crack in the slab. All this happening while Kevin is out of town. Our plumber has been called and he tells me a number of people in the hood are having similar problems. It is a mystery. I am afraid I might have a void under my house and it has developed into a waterway to the creek. Things could be worse, so I am not complaning just wondering what is going on and why all of a sudden are these things happening. At least I have one toilet that is working just fine. Weird.

  43. Millennials and college students just can’t seem to bear the site of statues dedicated to past presidents and historical figures. Every week, there are different stories of artwork removed after student protests. Several presidents, including founding father and author of the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson, have been targeted by activists — and the statues dedicated to them have been quietly removed or even destroyed.

The latest wave of outrage comes from students in a California high school, who are targeting the nation’s first president. A painting of George Washington is so traumatizing for students that they are asking for it to be removed from sight at once. The difference in this instance is that alumni are supporting keeping the murals in place — stating that they are not offensive and are progressive for their time.

The murals of George Washington that students find so disturbing adorn the walls of George Washington High School in Northern California. There are 13 panels in all, and some students are calling them racist and traumatizing. The murals were painted in 1936 and portray scenes from the time of the nation’s founding, including the president the school was named for. Two of the panels are so traumatic that students want them to be removed.

What a bunch of snowflake wimps Good Grief!

    ReplyDelete
  44. The targeted panels depict scenes from the 1770s. One shows slaves working in a field in the background, the other shows George Washington speaking to Native Americans. Benjamin Franklin is also included in one of the paintings. A group of teachers and students have called for the immediate removal of all 13 panels because they represent “white supremacy”, not a historical moment or image.

According to the traumatized, frightened students:

“We come to these recommendations due to the continued historical and current trauma of Native Americans and African Americans with these depictions in the mural that glorifies slavery, genocide, colonization, manifest destiny, white supremacy, oppression, etc. This mural doesn’t represent SFUSD values of social justice, diversity, united, student-centered. It’s not student-centered if it’s focused on the legacy of artists, rather than the experience of the students.

If we consider the SFUSD equity definition, the “low” mural glorifies oppression instead of eliminating it. It also perpetuates bias through stereotypes rather than ending bias. It has nothing to do with equity or inclusion at all. The impact of this mural is greater than its intent ever was. It’s not a counter-narrative if [the mural] traumatizes students and community members.”

The removal of murals based on the reasoning provided by the students and teachers doesn’t sit well with many alumni, who passed by the murals daily and emerged from the school unscathed by the experience. A recent petition was delivered to the school board and governing body and detailed why the murals should be retained. It reads:

" the San Francisco Board of Education Superintendent and Commissioners to reject the proposal to paint out or dismantle the Victor Arnautoff “Life of Washington” murals in George Washington High School, a priceless example of WPA art painted by a left-wing artist and unusually progressive for their time. The murals include forthright depictions of the injustices experienced by Native Americans and African-Americans during Washington’s lifetime. ”

While students continue to demand removal, there is no final decision of whether George Washington’s historically accurate images should be removed from the high school bearing his name at this time. Take away History and you take away the Country as we know it....

  45. Well that leaves out those in charge.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Exactly! When those in charge don't have the guts to stand up to these whiney ass snowflakes who are being so "traumatized" by these pictures, it makes you wonder just WTF their parents did to raise them!
Now I see why the birth rate continues to go down! Who in their right mind would want to have sex with any of these cry baby, coddled, spoiled brats that have been produced? Maybe there is a positive reason for abortion after-all!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think in this case the cause is, not the easily led and offended snowflake kiddies, but a "community group" (this IS in the San Fran area). A batch of professional do-gooders.

I hadn't thought of that, Gary. I was looking at aborting future "takers," but you may be on to something, too. But oh yes, I'm for public financing of abortions for the poor. I think you know the reason.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, this is the lost generation. These young people, and some old enough to know better AKA comrade bedpan, are lacking in education. Education of our history, of our civics, of how our government is structured and of our constitution.

Most of these people argue in bumper sticker slogans. They have no knowledge of reality. They believe anything the communist apparatus tells them. Sadly, this is probably irreversable.

I had a nice talk with my liberal son-in-law a couple of weeks ago. He's pretty left. His biggest gripe with the President is he is not the Marxist from Kenya.

These are people living in a million dollar plus house, driving new cars (think Jaguar E-Pace) and have everything they want. So he benefits greatly from this economy. They live in California so they know what the immigration crisis is all about. Everything he is doing benefits them. So his big beef is President Trump just isn't presidential. He's crude. He says things they find offensive.

I reminded him that Harry Truman once threatened to kick a newspaper critic's ass for writing a bad review of his daughter's professional debut as a singer. Bill Clinton was molesting young interns in the oval office. JFK and Bobby Kennedy were both sleeping with Marilyn Monroe. Teddy Kennedy murdered a young woman and got off scott free. But President Trump has offended them beyond any forgivess for something he said in private some 20 years ago.

Truth is, they just can't accept the election. They lost to an imperfect candidate, an election they were supposed to win easily. They hate Donald Trump with a passion beyond anything they've ever know. They truly believe they are entitled to remove him from office because they don't like how the election turned out.

This is the beginning of a new age of American politics. We are seeing an unknown monster rising up from the swamp. Made up of radical leftists, Islamic sympathyzers, anti-semites, communists and a news media that is entangled with them to their very core. Every election from now on is going to be subjected to these same attacks and attempts to overturn them. Elections as we knew them are a thing of the past.

Our only choice is to fight back. Same tactics? I don't know. But if this doesn't stop we will see our country disssolve into history. And that's exactly what these seditious traitorous bastards want.

I say no. I say we don't let them. Let's get this President reelected, take back the house and save our country.

    MAGA BABY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Interesting Capt I don't think I know the reason, is a baby born to poor person less valuable than any other baby ? I don't seem to understand where you are coming from on that statement...

    ReplyDelete
  50. The value is to society. A baby born to a mother on assistance is going to mean further assistance down the road. And if the kid ends up like a lot of them, being a drag all the way through life. Sure I'd rather give Norplant to the mom. But people on assistance should be discouraged from having other children, who then go straight to public assistance. Don't believe me? I deal with it everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not to be the spoiler here but why is it always up to the woman to go on birth control, etc., etc.?!!!

I've been quiet on this for a while now - it definitely is lopsided in Washington. Actually it all seems rather sexist to me. Not one iota of legislation to push for the male reproductive aspect in this at all.

It's all getting out of hand in Washington and abroad.

The only real solution is abstinence - if these people don't want the responsibility of child rearing then exercise common sense and abstain.... why? because it by far more economical to abstain than it is to go through the medical aspect of preventing pregnancy, etc., etc.

Categorizing people by their financial status is as about as bad as judging people by their ethnic background - think about that the next time someone mentions that assistance to abort or have birth control for the "poor".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You are right Rikki....The Father should be as responsible as the mother for birth control and taking care of the child, but in most cases society thinks that the only need for the father is, if the woman has the kid, to supply financial support for the child. He has no say in whether she should or should not get an abortion, whether he would take the child if born, even if the mother did not want it and he did.
I always view the baby as a separate being to the mother. She is the life support system to the child but the child is not a part of her, like an arm or a leg. So, I have a problem when they say "A woman making choices about her "own" body, I think that is an incorrect and false statement. She made choices about her own body when she had sex with the father of the child but, once that was done, the baby takes on a life of it's own.
If you are going to have sex with someone and know the potential consequences of doing it, then you are guilty of putting a new being in jeopardy unless you do what is best for the child.
I go along with the heartbeat rule. A heartbeat, or lack of one, signifies either life or death, IMO.
With today's technology, and early pregnancy tests available, if a couple is having sex, then they should have the test available in their homes to check it before the baby develops to the stage of a heartbeat. If there is no physical "life" yet, in the fetus, then I think the abortion is probably an option, not the best necessarily, but a viable option. Once life, or a heartbeat is detected, then it is a whole new ballgame.

Dems Tied to Obama’s Pro-Iran ‘Echo Chamber’ Spread Terror Regime’s Anti-Trump Talking Points

Seeking to drive wedge between Trump and his national security team, team Obama in lock step with Iran

    BY: Adam Kredo,May 22, 2019 1:35 pm

A cadre of former top Obama administration figures and their allies in Congress have been working to amplify anti-Trump talking points issued by a senior Iranian regime official in what sources have described as an effort by Obama's pro-Iran echo chamber to drive a wedge between President Donald Trump and his national security team.

As tensions mount between the United States and Iran, leading Democrats have become embroiled in controversy for widely repeating anti-Trump talking points first issued by Iran's hardline regime.

Additionally, former top officials from the Obama administration have taken to social media and other outlets to push a narrative that Trump is at odds with his hawkish National Security Adviser John Bolton over how far to go in punishing Tehran for its global support of terrorism and continued efforts to secure contested nuclear technology.

The effort to push this narrative to the media has gained steam following a war of words between Trump and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, who is said to have been in contact with top Democrats in Congress and their allies in the Obama administration, sources said.

Just days after Zarif labeled Bolton and other top Trump national security officials as the "B Team," former top Obama aides Ben Rhodes and Colin Kahl repeated this rhetoric online in a series of postings bashing Trump. Rhodes and Kahl are most well known as the creators of a pro-Iran "echo chamber" that was used to mislead Congress and the American public about the terms of the landmark nuclear deal, which Trump abandoned last year.

It has become increasingly clear in recent days that these former officials and their Democratic allies in Congress are seeking to build support for the United States to reenter the Iran nuclear deal should a Democrat defeat Trump in the next election, as the Washington Free Beacon has reported in past weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Part 2 of ??

The direct line between Tehran and top Democrats spilled further into public view last week when photographs from the cellphone of Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D., Calif.), a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, showed that she had been in contact with Zarif, a primary architect of the nuclear accord. Photographs of Feinstein's phone showed a contact page with Zarif's information, prompting her office to rebuff requests for explanation.

"I can't comment on who the senator does or doesn't speak with," Feinstein's communication's director told Politico.

Multiple officials involved in the Iran debate expressed shock that leading Democrats continue to boost Iran's anti-Trump threats. They view the network of former officials and their allies as doing all they can to subvert Trump, even if it means siding with the Iranian regime in the standoff between the two countries.

"Obama's echo chamber and their pro-Iran deal allies in Congress are putting partisan politics over country, and have the chutzpah to literally repeat the Iranian regime's talking points," said one senior GOP congressional official, who would speak only on background to discuss the growing divide.

"The truth is that, under Obama's disgraceful and dangerous nuclear deal, Iran got access to over $100 billion in immediate sanctions and a green light to ramp up its support for terrorism and militancy in the Middle East," the source said. "Iran, under Obama's watch, joined forces with Russia to prop up the Assad regime [in Syria], which repeatedly used chemical weapons and barrel bombs on civilians and is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of civilians."

"While Team Obama stood idly by as Iran-backed aggression ravaged the Middle East, President Trump is maximizing coercive economic pressure on the Iranian regime and deterring and punishing Iranian-backed aggression against American interests," the official said.

Former Obama aides Rhodes and Kahl, along with other senior figures from the administration, have continued to use their network of sympathetic writers and liberal talking heads amplify the Iranian regime's rhetoric and build greater anti-Trump fervor. This has emboldened the Iranian regime, which sees an opportunity to drive a further wedge between U.S. political factions.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Part 3 of 3

Former Secretary of State John Kerry, for instance, has engaged multiple times in shadow diplomacy, meeting with Zarif on several occasions to plot how Iran can salvage the nuclear deal and retain its access to the billions in cash windfalls.

A second senior Republican congressional official also involved in the Iran fight said the deep ties between senior Iranian officials such as Zarif and top Democrats is becoming increasingly clear.

"A few weeks ago no one up here was talking about Bolton being a warmonger or anything like that," the source said. "It was all about Trump. Then Zarif showed up in New York and gave them their ‘B Team' talking points, and suddenly that's all you hear wall to wall. It would be obvious even if we didn't know that senators have him on speed dial, but now there's photographic evidence of that too."

Though Trump has made it increasingly clear that he is not seeking a military confrontation with Iran, the hardline regime has sought to fan the flames by issuing repeated military threats and using its terror proxy groups to conduct attacks on U.S. coalition partners in the region.

However, Democratic leaders like Sen. Richard Durbin (D., Ill.) have said it is Trump who is "itching for a confrontation with Iran."

"It gives new meaning to the phrase ‘Iran echo chamber'—these Democratic operatives and members are truly echoing Iranian propaganda at the possible expense of American lives," a third source who is also involved in the Iran issue told the Free Beacon. "What is happening to the Democratic Party when its leaders will side with terrorists over their own country? The new scandal everyone should be talking about is the Iran Collusion Scandal—because that's what's happening."

What I was trying to get at is that although it is the thing to say by the "Choice" bunch, that a woman should have the right to do what she wants to her own body, in my opinion, that baby is a "separate" body and person, from the mother. Of course, the baby would not survive away from the mother at that stage, but it is still a separate life and not one that even being the mother, she still shouldn't have the right to throw the baby in the trash if she wishes.
I know that we will never totally eliminate abortion, but the "Heartbeat bills" going on in some states seems to make the most sense to me. If women are determined to have a abortion, then at least it should be done before there is a detectable heartbeat in my opinion.

  90. I JUST FOUND OUT i have two leaks under my house slab. The plumber put a camera in the line and there was mud and sand in the pipe annd the broken pipe is is the center of the house. Looks like my next step is for the plumber to tunnel under the house to replace the pipe. At least we found the problem before we replaced the wood floors. Debating on if we should go with the tunnel or busting up the slab in my formal living room. I hear if they go through the slab I will have dust everywhere. Have any of y'all gone through this?

    1. Rose we just went thru having the bath room jack hammered out, they had to remove tube and toilet to get the pipe replace and the heat vent, but it happen about the right time because we were talking about a walk in shower so we did that and remodeled the bath rooms both of them, costly yes dusty and noises but when all done was worth it, while they were here we did the kitchen also. Good luck to you.

  91. Rose, years back we had sewer line issues. the original line (cast iron) rotted away. The plumber had to call someone with a back hoe. We had it replaced but the only thing we did different was adding the access point outside instead of being in the basement. There's no easy way out of something like this, no inexpensive method.

My heart goes out to you - I can seriously relate.

The nerve! Honestly! The true mark of an abuser / bully!

I've seen this lots of times before - the target person for abuse / bullying suffers immensely at the hands of their abuser. When the target person stands up for themselves, the abuser comes back with 'you are the one who needs to change'.... BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just saw this on the Washington Times and the gall that old lady Pelosi is just bullshit!

Pelosi says Trump needs an 'intervention'
By Gabriella Muñoz and Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Thursday, May 23, 2019

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she wishes President Trump’s family would stage an “intervention” to stop him from his behavior.

“That’s up to his family and his Cabinet and his staff in the White House. This is not behavior that rises to the dignity of the office of the president of the United States,” she said.

Mrs. Pelosi also referred to the use of “Article 25” — presumably the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which includes provisions for the Cabinet to remove a president from office.

“That would be good, Article 25,” she told a New York Times reporter. “That’s a good idea, I’m glad you suggested it. I’ll take it up with my caucus — not that they haven’t been thinking about it.”

Her comments came a day after she and the president blew up at each other. She said he was engaged in a “cover-up,” and he canceled a meeting to talk infrastructure, saying he wouldn’t work with Democrats as long as they were pursuing a rash of investigations against him.

On Thursday, Mrs. Pelosi said she knew the word “cover-up” would anger the president — but she defended her decision to use it, saying she’s accused him of it before.

She said he was looking for an excuse to cancel their meeting — but said his behavior was out of bounds.

“I wish that his family or his staff would have an intervention for the good of the country,” she said.

Mrs. Pelosi said the president was trying to orchestrate distractions from a court ruling earlier this week that said the House has the power to conduct broad investigations.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Mrs. Pelosi was the one who orchestrated the blowup this week.

She scheduled a special meeting of House Democrats Wednesday morning to talk about investigations and impeachment, and then walked out to the cameras to accuse Mr. Trump of a cover-up.

“This is irresponsible. This is not a way to govern,” Mr. McCarthy said.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Part 2
Mr. McCarthy pointed out that Mrs. Pelosi herself is second in the line of presidential succession, giving her a personal stake in the outcome of ousting the president.

“To have that kind of conversation is irresponsible,” he said.

Mrs. Pelosi has been trying to tamp down on calls from leaders and rank and file members of her caucus to take more aggressive action against the president this week, including by starting the impeachment process with a formal inquiry.

The speaker, though, said her troops are unified behind her more methodical approach. She said it’s Mr. Trump who’s trying to bait them into pursuing the divisive path of impeachment.

“The White House is just crying out for impeachment. That’s why he flipped out yesterday,” she said.

Despite saying at an event Wednesday that the president potentially committed impeachable offenses, Mrs. Pelosi kept her foot down on inching towards removing the president and focusing on the progress her chairmen have made in the court system.

“I think what really got to him were these court cases and the fact that House Democratic Caucus is not on the path to impeachment and that’s where he wants us to be,” she said. “The White House is just crying out for impeachment.”

For his part, the president said he was deliberately “extremely calm” in his meeting with the Democrats, “knowing that they would say I was raging, which they always do, along with their partner, the Fake News Media.”

“Well, so many stories about the meeting use the Rage narrative anyway - Fake & Corrupt Press!” Mr. Trump tweeted.

Hey if there's anyone still awake.... things are about to get worse for the Democrats and the anti Trump folks... this just published not long ago on the Washington Times this evening!

Trump orders declassification of intelligence in Russia probe origins investigation

By Dave Boyer - The Washington Times - Updated: 9:22 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019

President Trump ordered the declassification Thursday night of certain intelligence to aid Attorney General William Barr in his investigation of the origins of government spying on the Trump presidential campaign in 2016.

In a directive to the CIA, the Director of National Intelligence, the Pentagon and several other federal agencies, Mr. Trump said Mr. Barr has the authority to declassify or downgrade “information or intelligence that relates to the attorney general’s review.”

The president directed the agencies to “promptly provide such assistance and information as the attorney general may request in connection with that review.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the order “will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.”

Mrs. Sanders said the attorney general has been delegated “full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information.”

  99. Part 2 of 2

Mr. Barr has begun a probe of how and why the FBI started a counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign code-named “Crossfire Hurricane” in the summer of 2016 to determine whether campaign officials were conspiring with Russians to meddle in the election. The FBI probe included wiretaps on a Trump campaign official.

That probe three years ago evolved into special counsel Robert Mueller’s sprawling, $35 million investigation that ultimately found no evidence of collusion between the campaign and Moscow.

The attorney general said last week that his new investigation is necessary to make sure that top federal law enforcement officials weren’t trying to “put their thumb on the scale” in the 2016 presidential election. Mr. Barr has appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to conduct the inquiry.

The president reiterated Thursday that he believes several former Obama administration officials committed treason by spying on his campaign.

“They have unsuccessfully tried to take down the wrong person,” Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House.

Asked by a reporter to name specific individuals who may have committed treason, the president mentioned former FBI Director James B. Comey; former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe; former FBI agent Peter Strzok and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page; and “probably people higher than that.”

The president noted that Ms. Page and Mr. Strzok, who ended up working on the Mueller investigation, exchanged text messages about creating an “insurance policy” in case Mr. Trump won the election against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

“That’s what they said, and that’s what they meant,” Mr. Trump said. “That’s treason. They couldn’t win the election, and that’s what happened.”

He added that he believes House Democrats are carrying out a similar effort “without the ‘treason’ word” to remove him from office via impeachment, with several investigations of his finances and other matters.

“That’s what’s happening now,” the president said. “They don’t feel they can win the election, so they’re trying to do the thousand stabs. Keep stabbing.”

Rep. Mark Meadows, North Carolina Republican and chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, hailed the president’s order as “outstanding.”

“Americans are going to learn the truth about what occurred at their Justice Department,” Mr. Meadows tweeted.

Republican lawmakers have been pressing to make public a pending Justice Department inspector general’s report on the possible abuse of surveillance courts in the FBI’s initial probe.

Mr. Meadows has said he expects the Inspector General to issue criminal referrals related to the FBI’s possible abuse of power.

The Dems and anti Trumpers are probably saying "what's with this guy - he just doesn't go away".... well, like you said Kevin, "Trump's not like the republicans that have always rolled over in fear of being called bad names." They are learning that President Trump isn't a wimp and he's not going to leave the political realm until he's damned good and ready.

They want to play games with him but they don't understand that he is the one playing games and its with them. Try as they may to detract and distract, the piles of shit are adding up... Harder and harder to hide it.

It'll be fun to watch the perverbial games of "hot potato" and "musical chairs" with all the democratic actors involved. Past, and present.
