President Trump said Wednesday a New York Times report showing he lost more than $1 billion dollars from 1985 to 1994 does not accurately depict real estate practices during that time frame.
“Real estate developers in the 1980’s & 1990’s, more than 30 years ago, were entitled to massive write offs and depreciation which would, if one was actively building, show losses and tax losses in almost all cases. Much was non monetary. Sometimes considered ‘tax shelter,’ you would get it by building, or even buying,” the president tweeted.
“You always wanted to show losses for tax purposes….almost all real estate developers did - and often re-negotiate with banks, it was sport. Additionally, the very old information put out is a highly inaccurate Fake News hit job,” he said.
The report also found Mr. Trump did not pay federal income taxes for eight out of 10 years due to losing so much money.
This report comes after the Treasury Department denied Monday a request from the House Financial Committee for access to six years of tax returns from the 2010s.
Mr. Trump said he’d be open to releasing his tax returns once he’s out of audit but has been resistant to House Democrats government oversight investigations.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said Wednesday he is “ready, willing and able” to negotiate with the Justice Department even after President Trump invoked executive privilege to block access to special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report and the underlying evidence.
“This information we are requesting is entirely in our legal right to receive,” Mr. Nadler said at a markup hearing to hold Attorney General William P. Barr in contempt for refusing to meet Democrats’ demands.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nadler said the contempt vote is “not a step we take lightly.”
“It is the culmination of nearly three months of requests, discussions and negotiations with the Justice Department for the complete unredacted report of the Mueller probe,” he said.

The House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday approved a new amendment to its contempt report against Attorney General William P. Barr that responds directly to President Trump invoking executive privilege.
In a 20-12 vote along party lines, the committee formally adopted the amendment outlining its objections to Mr. Trump asserting executive privilege over materials subpoenaed by House Democrats.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, New York Democrat, proposed the amendment, which insists Mr. Trump’s privilege claim is invalid.
“The committee has a number of concerns about the validity of this assertion,” the amendment states. It also rejects the timing of the privilege, which occurred just moments before a hearing to hold Mr. Barr in contempt.
The amendment also blasts the Justice Department, saying it has not provided any information to assist the committee’s evaluation of the privilege claim.

DeleteWell, I'm interested and hoping that my Son and grandson have open schedules for that day! My problem is the food sounds great, but I just went through dental surgery and eating is not a very fun thing to do right now! Hopefully it will get better before the 18th but all I have been eating lately is pudding, jello, applesauce and Ice cream! Good, but I need some real food! Also, I was on a diet anyway before I did the dental work, so am still trying to lose weight anyway. For the summit though, I will consume even if it is all liquid refreshment! :)

I don't really think anyone in the Republican Party is working on it very aggressively. It bores them, like it bores most of us, so no one wants to really do anything about it! A woman on Mark Levine, the other night, seems to be the real authority on it. Pres. Trump should talk to her about coming up with a plan! That will be the one thing that causes Trump a problem getting re-elected, if anything does, I believe! on Google and yep, it exists. It is a REAL word.
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad (Holy War). Specifically, it is the TAXING
of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.
Obamacare allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States .
Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking", and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.
How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivable, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax.
Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan (the Muslim) will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health insurance needs paid for by the de facto government insurance.
Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. This is Dhimmitude.
