Taking a break...

Well guys, it's time for a break.

Early Sunday morning my family and I will be headed out for our yearly family vacation.

After 20 some years of Colorado vacations we've all decided to try something different this time.

My son in law wanted to go to Texas.

I didn't.

So after a lot of thought and consideration and me finally putting my foot down and reminding them all that whether they agree with it or not, I'm still the boss.

Well, it didn't go exactly like that but I was prepared for it just in case.

I suggested we all go see Mt. Rushmore and believe it or not they all liked the idea.

And because I've always been interested in history, especially the mid-1800's and the westward movement I wanted to at least try to give the kids something to remember or at least think about.

A few years ago I spent the better part of two years working in Nebraska and visited a lot of places that were key places along the Oregon Trail.

So, I've assigned them a little homework and asked them all to study up on the Oregon Trail because we'll be following it on the way to South Dakota.

Did they complete their assignments?

Of course not.

But that's not going to keep me from trying.

Our first stop will be the Archway Museum outside Kearney, Neb.

From there we head to Ogallala for the night.

Monday morning we'll head west toward Chimney Rock and Scott's Bluff which were both very important and well known landmarks back in the day.

Then turn north and make a beeline for South Dakota where we've booked a couple of cabins 4 miles south of Mt. Rushmore.

I'm pretty sure if I don't post a new blog for a week the world will keep turning.

Washington will continue to lose its grip on reality.

And life will go on.

You guys enjoy your week and treat this particular edition of Room 235 as you see fit.

See you in a week...

Kevin McGinty

  3. I ve been all around S D In all kinds of weather. There is a lot of stuff to see and do up there. I even spent some time up there panning gold with a cousin and leaving in a Airstream in the hills. Very pretty. Don't for get to hit up Deadwood and don't try and leave too much money there in the Old #10

  6. gotta share this...

A while back (back in April) when I saw in the media that Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders supports voting rights to the Boston Bomber - that and how democratic states are pushing to abolish the Electoral College and go with the Popular Vote.... I was fumed!! So I fired off several letters regarding that.

Just a little bit ago I got off the phone with a representative for Steve Watkins in reply to my letter. I said to this gentleman on the phone that no, I don't want the Boston Bomber to have voting rights and I took our discussion a whole lot further - I mentioned about the Democratic states and what they're doing - said it was against the US Constitution to do away with the Electoral College.

I didn't stop there - I continued with my age and what I make an hour - and I don't appreciate how Congress is abusing my tax dollars. I also mentioned how I feel that the Democrats don't care about the American people because they're too busy self serving themselves on trying to topple President Trump instead of working on things to help Americans. I didn't stop there.... I said that Pelosi, Nader, Maxine Waters all need to go and the Republicans need to regain the House in 2020.

I also talked about the media and how they should be neutral. I also said that the media is spreading junk and that journalism isn't what it used to be.

I was on the phone for a little over 10 minutes with the gentleman from Rep. Watkin's office. He agreed whole heartedly with me. I told the gentleman that I want to know how Rep. Watkins votes on things there in Washington, so I'm now on a email list to get a weekly newsletter email.

I'm just so tickled pink that I got a phone call and that I could voice my opinion on the bullshit that the do nothing dummycrats are doing and not doing.

  7. Oh, I also made the time to mention to the representative to Steve Watkins that I was not alone in how I feel the Democrats need to let go of the Mueller Report. I said it's like a really bad rerun stuck on repeat and that it was way beyond stagnant. The gentleman agreed with me on that too.

  10. Have a great trip, Kevin and family. I remember going to Mt. Rushmore and the area when I was a kid, on vacation with my parents. The image is still stuck in my mind! I don't know if you mentioned the Badlands in your journey Kevin. It has been so long ago, that I have no clue of the distances and so forth, between different places and attractions, but for some reason, the badlands always stuck in this kid's brain, even to adulthood.

  15. Years ago, a young Navy Pilot was injured while ejecting from his A-4 Skyhawk due
o engine failure during a catapult shot from the carrier.
Due to the heroics of rescue helicopter crew and the ship's hospital staff, the only permanent injury was the loss of one ear.

Since he wasn't physically impaired, he remained on flight status and eventually became an Admiral.
However, during his career he was always sensitive about his appearance.

One day the Admiral was interviewing two Navy Master Chiefs and a Marine Sergeant Major for his personal staff.
The first Master Chief was a Surface Navy type and it was a great interview.
At the end of the interview the Admiral asked him, "Do you notice anything different about me?"

The Master Chief answered, "Why, yes, Admiral. I couldn't help but notice that you are missing your starboard ear, so I don't know whether this impacts your hearing on that side."

The Admiral got very angry at this lack of tact and threw him out of his office.

The next candidate, an Aviation Master Chief, when asked this same question, answered, "Well yes, Sir, you seem to be short one ear."

The Admiral threw him out as well.

The third interview was with the Marine Sergeant Major.
He was articulate, extremely sharp, and seemed to know more than the two Navy Master Chiefs put together.
The Admiral wanted this guy but went ahead with the same question. "Do you notice anything different about me?"

To his surprise, the Sergeant Major said, "Yes Sir. You wear contact lenses."

The Admiral was impressed and thought to himself, what an incredibly tactful Marine.
"And how would you know that?" the Admiral asked.

The Sergeant Major replied: "Well, sir, it's pretty hard to wear glasses with only one fuckin' ear. "

Nunes blasts Mueller report for relying on media reports that promoted 'Russia hoax'
By Rowan Scarborough - The Washington Times - Saturday, June 15, 2019

Rep. Devin Nunes is hitting the Robert Mueller report for relying on scores of news media stories that promoted the now-debunked Russia-Trump election conspiracy.

A Washington Times analysis published on May 5 showed that the special counsel’s report footnoted over 100 media articles. Some contained allegations of Russian collusion, such as communication intercepts, that never materialized.

Mr. Nunes of California, the top Republican on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, now calls the Mueller report a “dossier.” It is a reference to the Democratic Party-financed Christopher Steele dossier that level at least a dozen conspiracy charges that the Mueller report debunked or failed to find evidence.

Mr. Nunes voiced his criticism at a committee hearing this week.

“The Mueller dossier cites dozens of articles from the reporters and publications that were most responsible for perpetuating the Russia hoax,” Mr. Nunes said. “Thus Mueller produced a perfect feedback loop: intelligence leakers spin a false story to the media, the media publishes the story, Mueller cites the story, and the media and the Democrats then fake outrage at Mueller’s findings.”

    ReplyDelete
  21. Part 2 of 2

Mr. Nunes added, “In sum, Mueller relied on a mass of reporting whose central narrative— that the Trump campaign colluded with Russians to hack the elections— is false. And the Democrats spread a hoax claiming Trump is a Russian agent, but it was later discovered that the only people who colluded with Russians were the Democrats, who paid for the Steele dossier, which relied on Russian sources.”

This was a reference to the fact that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee funded Mr. Steele, who identified his sources as Kremlin intelligence and government figures.

The May 5 Washington Times story said:

“Special counsel Robert Mueller relied on the media to feed his Russian election interference report, citing scores of stories mostly from news outlets that promoted the debunked Trump-Kremlin election conspiracy.

“Mr. Mueller’s staff of Democrat-aligned prosecutors favored The New York Times over other publications. The 448-page report cited The Times more than 60 times, mostly in footnotes for articles that weave through the report’s main narrative.”

Mr. Nunes criticizes the media in general for becoming the conduit for false conspiracy charges.

“I’d like to remind the Democrats that this committee was created to do important oversight of our intelligence agencies,” he said. “This work is even more crucial now that the media have abandoned their traditional watchdog role and instead have become the mouthpiece of a cabal of intelligence leakers. I understand the Democrats’ inability to move past their failed hoax and get back to normal business. Nevertheless, I suggest they give it a try.”

Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, California Democrat, has announced a sweeping probe into nearly every aspect of President Trump’s and his family’s lives.

He wants to continue investigating topics investigated by Mr. Mueller. He also plans to hunt for Russian money influencing Mr. Trump.

Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former lawyers and now his accuser, testified to Congress that he knows of no Russian loans or investments coming into the Trump Organization during his 15-plus-years at Trump Tower.

The Mueller report said the FBI didn’t establish a Trump-Russian election conspiracy.

There was no Mueller information on Mr. Trump having any association with Russian government figures. Some Democrats have accused him of being a Russian agent.

Mr. Schiff hired as a chief investigator a former federal prosecutor who said as late as December that he believes every thing in the Steele dossier is true.

  22. Rep. Devin Nunes punched out the Mueller Report and the do nothing dummycrats.

Now if they can just move on from this rerun that has been stuck on repeat..... but the do nothing dummycrats enjoy wasting tax dollar monies to fund their self serving quest to unjustifiably attack President Trump.

I really enjoyed receiving the call from Steve Watkins' office yesterday - to have the opportunity to verbally express my opinions on the bullshit that the dummycrats are doing, etc., etc., etc., (see previous blog for my post detailing my phone conversation).

  23. I love how Rep. Devin Nunes told the do nothing dummycrats "I understand the Democrats’ inability to move past their failed hoax and get back to normal business. Nevertheless, I suggest they give it a try.”"

Just like delusional blue with his never ending croakings of crapola....he and the do nothing dummycrats are having serious trouble accepting that the Democratic Party's push of FAKE news came back to bite them and they're having trouble realizing that their corrupt scheme to manipulate the whole of America to turn on President Trump with lies has failed.

I can hardly wait for AG Barr to finish up on his investigation because I will most definitely enjoy seeing key democrats in high positions all the way down to democrats in low positions all involved in pushing this farce - I will enjoy seeing them all being transported to prison -

"Chris Matthews: Trump ready to win voters 'discarded' and mocked by Dems, Hollywood"
By Douglas Ernst - The Washington Times - Monday, June 17, 2019

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is worried that Democrats and their Hollywood “buddies” have not learned important lessons from the 2016 presidential election.

The “Hardball” host told network colleagues on “Morning Joe” that President Trump is primed to once again win votes in Pennsylvania and key states due to the hubris of the “liberal elite.”

“[Voters in 2016] knew there was a great party going on among the liberal elite with all their Hollywood buddies, and they weren’t invited,” Mr. Matthews said Monday. “Nobody wants to go to a party if they haven’t been invited. … A friend of mine once said — he said this about relationships with men and women — he said: ‘People don’t mind being used, but they mind being discarded.’ The Democrats have a lot of people out there who feel discarded by them and they’re not too happy about it.”

Mr. Matthews added that too many Democrats “look down their nose” at religious Americans.

“It’s one thing about abortion rights,” he added. “We all have our own personal views and nuance — a lot of nuance on that fight. But don’t make fun of the other side. Don’t make fun of the pro-life people. Don’t think they’re lowbrows because they’re not as ‘sophisticated’ as you are. I think there’s a lot of that attitude. This creeps into the voting. ‘Oh, not only they disagree with me, they look down on me for caring about life. Oh, I get it. I’m not one of them. I know that.’ And that’s the attitude. Look, Trump played the [pro-life] vote brilliantly in Pennsylvania last time. He’ll probably do it again. You’ve got to be careful about whose feelings you are definitely hurting.”

“Morning Joe” contributor Mike Barnicle shared the same concerns.

“There are some in the Democratic field who tend to disdain anyone who voted for Donald Trump — instead of realizing that if you look around, instead of realizing that a substantial percentage of people who voted for Donald Trump — guess where they live? They live next door to you,” he said.

"State Department: 15 broke rules in mishandling Hillary Clinton emails"
By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Monday, June 17, 2019

At least 15 people broke State Department rules in mishandling former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s emails, the department said in a review released publicly Monday.

While the full review is not completed, the department said it’s found 23 violations and seven infractions of security protocols related to Mrs. Clinton’s emails.

Some of the 15 people got write-ups placed in their security files at the department, according to a letter sent to Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican. Those could affect future attempts to gain security clearances, the department said.

“The department considers and violation of security policies to be a serious matter,” wrote Mary Elizabeth Taylor, assistance secretary for legislative affairs.

She promised another update when the department’s review is done, but said department policy prohibits naming people dinged for their activities. It’s also not clear how many of them are still at the department.

Mrs. Clinton’s decision to forgo use of an official state.gov account and instead use a secret account tied to a server she kept at her home in New York broke government rules and risked national security, according to multiple investigations.

But Mrs. Clinton was too ignorant of the risks to be able to be charged, former FBI Director James B. Comey concluded in 2016 — a decision the Obama Justice Department quickly ratified, amid the presidential election.

Investigations in 2016 found nearly two dozen emails Mrs. Clinton sent or received contained top secret information, while more than 2,000 others contained classified information.

Few of the messages contained markings making clear the nature of the sensitive information, though security experts said the lack of markings didn’t mean the information wasn’t supposed to be protected at the time.

Mr. Grassley, the Senate’s longest-serving Republican, has been pressing the State Department to divulge more details about the aftermath of Mrs. Clinton’s email troubles.

Last year the department told him Mrs. Clinton had asked that her security clearance be suspended, and five other people Mrs. Clinton had designated as researchers in need of clearances had been withdrawn.
    ________

Wow, 15… count them… 15 broke rules / 23 violations / 7 infractions…. 15 people got written up for screwing things up. I wished I was a fly on the wall over there…. Would love to see more unfold that tarnishes the Swamp Dwellers.

"Trump raises more money in 24 hours than opening days of Sanders, Biden, O'Rourke, Harris combined
    by Joseph Simonson | June 19, 2019 11:50 AM

Presidential Trump brought in nearly $25 million in the first 24 hours of his official reelection efforts, according to Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel — more than the combined totals of five of his major Democratic rivals.

" @realDonaldTrump has raised a record breaking $24.8M in less than 24 hours for his re-election. The enthusiasm across the country for this President is unmatched and unlike anything we’ve ever seen! #trump2020 #KeepAmericaGreat," McDaniel tweeted Wednesday.

McDaniel's message followed Trump's official kick-off rally in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday night. Trump's campaign on Tuesday sent out a fundraising memo asking supporters to raise at $7 million before midnight.

The $24.8 million sum is several magnitudes higher than the leading Democratic candidates seeking the chance to challenge Trump in 2020. Former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign said in April it pulled in $6.3 million during the 24 hours after he announced his third White House run.

At a Manhattan fundraiser Tuesday evening, Biden suggested his campaign raised over $19.8 million in the current quarter of the campaign season, with bank accounts closing at the end of June.

All 24-hour fundraising numbers come directly from the campaigns themselves or party committees, rather than the Federal Elections Commission. Fundraising figures reported by the campaign will be publicly available by July 15 and will offer more detail, including amounts of money spent, and cash-on-hand totals.

The closest to Biden in opening day fundraising appears to be former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke, whose campaign said he raised $6.1 million. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders used his grassroots network to deposit $5.9 million in his campaign bank account.

California Sen. Kamala Harris's campaign reported less impressive numbers, reportedly raising $1.5 million in its first 24 hours. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is currently benefiting from a surge in the polls, scraped together $300,000 from supporters after she announced her candidacy.

Emails show FBI's mad scramble to correct James Comey testimony about Huma Abedin by Daniel Chaitin | June 20, 2019 11:17 AM

Emails show FBI officials scrambling to correct the record after then-Director James Comey provided inaccurate testimony about a top aide to Hillary Clinton.

In Senate testimony on May 3, 2017, Comey said Huma Abedin made “a regular practice” of forwarding “hundreds and thousands” of emails from her boss to her husband and former Congressman Anthony Weiner, some of which were classified. Comey said Abedin did this so Weiner could print the emails out.

The FBI, which had seized Weiner's laptop as part of a criminal investigation into his sexting with a high school student, found Comey's assertion to be widely overstated, and on May 8 ProPublica reported that officials were working to correct the record.

In an email thread beginning at 6:34 a.m. on May 9, FBI officials frantically conversed about drafting a letter to Congress. The email thread, involving nearly a dozen officials, had the subject line, “Comey’s Testimony on Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate – ProPublica."

At 8:56 a.m., Comey’s chief of staff, Jim Rybicki, sent the group a draft letter which said, “Below is a draft that has been reviewed by the Director. Please let me know your thoughts.”

In an afternoon response, Greg Brower, the FBI assistant director for the Office of Congressional Affairs, asked his colleagues to "Please review" the latest version of the draft letter.

On May 9, the finalized letter was sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the FBI stated that only a "small number” of the approximately 49,000 “potentially relevant” emails found on Weiner’s laptop were forwarded by Abedin.

Hours later, Trump fired Comey while he was in Los Angeles.

The emails, released with several redactions, were obtained by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch in response to a May 21 court order by U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton to the FBI to process 13,000 pages of records. In a press release, the group said the emails show the bureau worked to "muddle" Comey's message.

The FBI investigated Clinton's use of an unauthorized server, hosted in the basement of her home in Chappaqua, N.Y., during her time as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013. Comey publicly recommended in 2016 that no charges be brought against Clinton, who was then a candidate for president, but admonished Clinton and her colleagues for being "extremely careless" in handling classified information.

The State Department is now conducting a review related to the handling of classified information, and so far has found 30 security incidents.

Condoleezza Rice: Race Relations Not Worse Under Trump
'It sure doesn't feel worse than when I grew up in Jim Crow Alabama'

BY: Cameron Cawthorne June 21, 2019 9:15 am

Former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice on Thursday pushed back against the notion that race relations have gotten worse during the Trump administration.

Rice sat down with 3rd Hour Today co-host Sheinelle Jones, who asked about race relations during Trump administration.

"There are people who will say it feels worse now when we are talking about race or it feels like a divisive environment," Jones said, prompting Rice to push back.

"It sure doesn't feel worse than when I grew up in Jim Crow Alabama, so let's drop this notion that we're worse at race relations today than we were in the past. Really? That means we've made no progress. Really?" Rice said. "I think the hyperbole about how much worse it is isn't doing us any good. This country is never going to be color blind."

Jones followed up by asking her about people who say the rhetoric starts with the president and he has to set an example from the top-down.

"Oh, come on, alright? I would be the first to say we need to watch our language about race. We need to watch that we don't use dog whistles to people who—but when we start saying, ‘It's worse today,' No it's not," Rice said.

Rice served as a national security adviser to former president George W. Bush and would later be nominated and confirmed to be secretary of state during the Bush administration.

  50. Well friends, update from crazy California. We moved into our house this week. It's hot here so it was quite a job. But we had a couple of guys helping.

So living up here in the mountains is pretty great. I can stand on my patio and see mountains all around us. You have to drive about 40 miles through a windy canyon road just to get here. When we drive into the town up here where the stores are we drive by a beautiful blue lake filled with boaters and fishermen and water skiers and kite boarders. The other day somebody landed a big pontoon plane on the lake just to swim.

It's quiet here. It's Trump country. Nothing like the rest of California. I met the guy who owns the local gun shop at the farmers market. He also roasts and sells coffee. It's pretty good too. He said you can get a CCW here pretty easy. I may or may not.

People here are friendly. Mostly retired people and tourists. The tourists come here to camp on the river (it's beautiful) or to raft the river or just to play in the lake or the river. I live 15 minutes from the tourist town where they all go so I can go there and enjoy all the stuff but don't have to deal with the tourists on a regular basis.

All in all, it's been a hell of a lot of work, and more expensive than I ever imagined to pull all this off. But we're here now. And we are seeing our grandson and family regularly so it's all worth it.

That's about it. California isn't as bad as you might think. No thunderstorms and tornados. Just a lot of democrats which are almost as bad. I'll keep in touch. I read the blog everyday, I just don't comment as much. I'll try to get back in the groove now that we are settled.

Hope everybody is doing well back in Topeka.

    EDITORIAL: Trump well-armed for 2020
By THE WASHINGTON TIMES - - Thursday, June 20, 2019

President Trump is accused by his critics, enemies and assorted soreheads of being the most divisive president since, well, maybe Chester Alan Arthur, or somebody. Perhaps he is, but much of the record of his first three years suggests that sometimes divisiveness works. He puts on a good show, too. His opening rally this week in Orlando, Florida, was a raucous whopper.

Despite sometimes hysterical opposition of the mainstream media, so called, and the Washington establishment; an endless investigation into collusion with Russia to cook the 2016 election; an implacably hostile opposition party and a do-nothing Congress; his eagerness to pick a fight with obscure critics and bursts of vulgarity and his lack of experience in politics national or otherwise, Donald Trump, real estate mogul and television star become president has built a record of performance that he can credibly run on for a second term, and with good prospects of success. This further infuriates the Democrats and other critics. He was supposed to be dead by now, and he definitely is not.

He made a small bonfire of crippling bureaucratic regulations, liberating American business to deploy capital and hire workers. He signed a tax cut that reduced rates on a large majority of American taxpayers, and brought the corporate tax rate in line with the rest of the developed world. The result is low unemployment, particularly for minorities. Best of all, middle-class Americans are getting a raise, too. Businesses are paying higher wages to recruit workers. This is how things are supposed to be — a true virtuous cycle. It’s a reminder, too, of how dreary things were during the eight years of the previous administration.

When Mr. Trump assumed office the economic “recovery,” such as it was, had been going on for years. The trouble was that while GDP growth was limping along, the average American was not feeling it. Wage growth was stagnant. Labor force participation was dismal. The de-industrialization that had begun in earnest with the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in the 1990s was sadly continuing apace.

Mr. Trump, for decades a skeptic of free trade, has begun to redress some of the negative effects of global commerce. His rewriting of NAFTA, which “they” said couldn’t be done, is being done, though it probably does not go far enough. But it did win crucial concessions for, among others, American dairy farmers who had been badly exploited by Canada. Perhaps most consequentially, Mr. Trump’s tariffs on many Chinese goods caught the attention of China and its economy. This is what a slow but wildly overdue rebalancing free trade to make it actually free, looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  53. part 2 of 2

Mr. Trump has correctly identified Communist China as a global menace. The president’s tariffs on Chinese goods are not only an economic tool, but are designed to coerce Beijing into cleaning up its act on intellectual property theft. For years China has stolen technology from other countries. This is still a work in progress, but the president has recognized the threat, as previous presidents did not, and is doing something about it.

The president has rebuked our NATO allies for their pathetic underfunding of their own defense, casting them as the free-loaders they have been. Mr. Trump correctly called them out as easy riders, however the Davos crowd of globalists was scandalized when the president told them to do the right thing. But however reluctant they are, the European partners are finally committing to increasing defense spending. At the same time, the president has shown needed support for beleaguered reliable allies like Taiwan and Israel. He has encouraged the highest-level contacts between Taiwanese and U.S. officials ever. He moved the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a recognition of the plain fact that Jerusalem is indeed the Israeli capital, as well as a show of support for an American ally without many friends and a lot of enemies in the region.

But if there’s anything that has scandalized the elites it is Mr. Trump’s determination to bring order to out-of-control immigration into the United States. The president has often mused that if you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country. He’s correct. The modern system of nation-states is predicated not just on borders, but also the idea that every nation — even including the United States — gets to say who can come in and how.

Now we’re about to see what the people think of the president’s performance. The coming presidential campaign will be tough and mean. That’s because the stakes are high. The president can go to war well-armed.

  54. Poor, poor Hillary.... she had a Broadway play about her and it was a failure. So much so that Broadway ended the play one month ahead of schedule. Poor ticket sales.

Then comes OJ having a twitter account....with him in the media again does that push Hillary out?

Well, personally I believe OJ did kill his wife and her friend, if he were so innocent then why did he run? No need to rehash the Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman murders - OJ may have gotten away with it in this life, but when he goes before God he will have to answer for it.

As for hasbeen Hillary.... she's nothing but a flop.

The dummycrat hopefuls don't stand a snowball's chance in hell in 2020.

Elizabeth Warren sprinkles some Disney magic: Yes, let's legalize sex for money
By Cheryl K. Chumley - The Washington Times - Thursday, June 20, 2019

    ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who’s been gaining in polls for the Democratic ticket to the White House, has just announced her latest political pandering — er, policy view — and it’s one goes like this: Maybe prostitution should be legalized.

So long as it doesn’t aid and abet all the human sex traffickers, that is, she quickly added.

And all the curious minds of the country go: How exactly does that work? After all, it’s not as if the two — prostitution and trafficking — aren’t tied at the hip. Inseparable, experts might even say.

“Prostitution isn’t people deferring entrance to Yale while they prostitute to raise money for tuition,” said Nicole Bell, a former prostitute who entered the field after being trafficked as a teen, reported Fortune in April. “That’s not the reality of what it looks like.”

But here’s the shame in Warren’s open-door invite to legalized sex work: Even Warren knows this. Prostitution isn’t exactly the stuff of Disney movie magic.

In 2018, before taking to the presidential trail, Warren voted for a Senate bill that clamped down on online sites that connected sex workers with their clients. And in 2017, she co-sponsored, with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, no less, the End Banking for Human Traffickers Act, a piece of legislation aimed at cutting off suspected sex traders from their money.

    So what’s her deal nowadays?

Apparently, Warren believes she needs the Bunny Ranch vote to compete.

When asked by a Washington Post reporter if she would decriminalize the world of prostitution, Warren said this, as Mediaite noted: “I’m open to decriminalization. Sex workers, like all workers, deserve autonomy but they are particularly vulnerable to physical and financial abuse and hardship. We need to make sure that we don’t undermine legal protections for the most vulnerable, including the millions of individuals who are victims of human trafficking each year.”

Perhaps her plan is to put government in charge of the trade. Think of the tax dollars, right?

Sen. Kamala Harris, another Democrat seeking the high Oval Office in 2020, supports legalizing prostitution, too.

“When you are talking about consenting adults,” Harris said in February, “I think that you know, yes, we should really consider that we can’t criminalize consensual behavior as long as no one is being harmed. But at the point that anyone is being harmed or exploited, I think that we have to understand that is a different matter.”

Oh, you mean like with abortions?

Then again, the pro-abortion, pro-prostitution policy makes perfect sense. In Democratic land, that is. After all, a pregnant prostitute doesn’t exactly scream, “Hire me.”

Democrats, the defenders of women’s rights — opening the wonderful, glorious, glamorous, world of selling one’s body for sex to women across America. Make way for the Disney magic, girls.
