Decision 2020...

I'm going to keep it simple today.

Real simple.

As you already know 2020 has arrived and once again America has a choice to make.

And the choices have never been more clear.

Do we go full blown communist or do we choose freedom?

In order to highlight the differences between the two I'm going to post two videos.

The first one involves a Bernie campaign staffer and the second one touches on the highlights from President Trump's rally last night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

First up: Kyle Jurek shares his vision of the future of America.

Second up: President Trump making his case to fellow citizens in Milwaukee last night.

I guess I've always suspected this time would come I just didn't think it would happen in my lifetime.

But here we are.

The choice is ours...

  4. Good Morning! I didn't watch the Dummy Debates last night, of course, so I don't know if the so-called feud between Sanders and Warren went on while on stage. I hope so! LOL! Will have to look it up I guess. They call the President a liar, well I don't think he holds a candle to Warren! What a lying bitch! We all knew that when the candidates got this far, they would finally start eating each other and from what I heard, CNN helped the process by the questions they ask them during the debate. They think CNN is favoring one, I assume they mean Warren over Sanders. So now they are calling each other racists, liars, woman haters, etc.etc.! I love it! AOC is skimping on helping out the other Dems by not paying up on the contributions. The Democrat party is ready to explode and shatter I do believe!
I did watch quite a bit of the President's rally last night. Man, he can still fire them up! The Pelosi, Schummer, Schitt sham is still trying to use the Russia Hoax and people like Mitt, Susan Collins and the one from Alaska are still playing right into it! All of them are RINOs! What a disgusting bunch! Other than all of that, life is just a bowl of Cherries!

  7. Part 1 of 2:

and President Trump and the American people are still winning!

Trump signs landmark trade deal with China to fix 'wrongs of the past'
By Dave Boyer and Tom Howell Jr. - The Washington Times - Updated: 2:19 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020

President Trump and Chinese negotiators signed a hard-fought trade agreement on Wednesday that provides big wins for U.S. farmers and financial-services firms, a historic breakthrough in the lopsided business dealings between the world’s two biggest economies that Mr. Trump achieved through his unconventional use of tariffs.

In a ceremony at the White House, Mr. Trump pronounced the deal “a landmark agreement” as he shook hands with China’s top trade negotiator, Vice Premier Liu He, and other Chinese dignitaries. The president said the deal is a “momentous step” that puts the two countries on the path “toward a future of fair and reciprocal trade.”

“Together we are righting the wrongs of the past and delivering a future of economic justice and security for American workers, farmers and families,” Mr. Trump said from the crowded East Room, which was filled with lawmakers and business leaders from the fields of energy, manufacturing and banking.

Mr. Trump called the agreement “a sea change in international trade.”

“The world is watching today,” he said. “It just doesn’t get any bigger than this.”

All three major U.S. financial markets hit record highs after the deal was signed.

The deal, which creates a larger market for U.S. farmers after they endured Chinese boycotts, will keep in place most U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods to compel Beijing to keep its promises. The “phase one” agreement also postpones for a later day thorny questions about China’s economic manipulation, such as industrial subsidies.

Mr. Liu called it “a win-win” agreement.

“It is good for China, the United States and for the world,” he said. “China will open itself even wider.”

  8. Part 2 of 3:

The ceremony provided a stark contrast to partisan impeachment proceedings taking place simultaneously on Capitol Hill. At one point during the victory lap for his economic agenda, Mr. Trump interrupted his own hourlong speech to warn that some lawmakers in the audience might need to return to the Capitol for a House vote on sending articles of impeachment to the Senate.

“Some of the congressmen may have to go out and vote — it’s on the impeachment hoax,” Mr. Trump said with wry irony.

Mr. Trump said previous U.S. politicians have allowed China to “pillage” the U.S. economy, with America racking up nearly $5 trillion in cumulative trade deficits with Beijing, since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.

“It’s probably the biggest reason I ran for president,” he said. “There has to be a certain reciprocity.”

He said the deal includes “groundbreaking provisions” on protecting U.S. intellectual property.

Vice President Mike Pence said “the greatest impact may well be on American agriculture.”

The president singled out several Republican lawmakers from farming states in the audience, saying “the farmers are going to be so happy.” The administration has approved nearly $30 billion in bailouts for farmers and ranchers who have been hurt by the lost Chinese markets.

Mr. Trump staked a large part of his 2016 campaign — and his reelection bid — on rewriting U.S. trade deals in a way that foregoes multilateralism and relies instead on his face-to-face negotiating skills. He said it would tilt the landscape in favor of American workers, after millions of lost factory jobs in the U.S. over several decades.

Mr. Trump said the phase-one deal with China, on top of other deals with South Korea, Japan and North American partners, is a down payment on that promise heading into his 2020 reelection bid.

“This is an enormous achievement for the president and the economic team,” Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin told reporters, adding that no date has been set for phase-two trade talks to begin.

China has agreed to increase its purchase U.S. agricultural goods by roughly $16 per year, reaching a level of about $40 billion annually. Beijing also is agreeing to increase overall imports from the U.S. by about $200 billion over two years.

That deal includes China agreeing to buy $32 billion in additional U.S. farm exports, $50 billion in natural gas and crude oil, $75 billion on U.S. manufacturing, and $40 billion or more on financial-services products.

Under the agreement, Beijing is allowing U.S. banks and credit card companies to enter China without needing to partner with a Chinese company, long a priority for financial-services firms such as J.P.Morgan Chase.

The deal also includes a promise by China to stop the forced transfer of technologies from U.S. companies doing business there.

Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden said China is the “big winner” in the deal.

“True to form, Trump is getting precious little in return for the significant pain and uncertainty he has imposed on our economy, farmers, and workers,” the former vice president said. “The deal won’t actually resolve the real issues at the heart of the dispute, including industrial subsidies, support for state-owned enterprises, cybertheft, and other predatory practices in trade and technology.”

Sen. Rob Portman, Ohio Republican who attended the ceremony, said the phase-one agreement resulted from Mr. Trump’s insistence in 2018 to impose tariffs on Chinese goods through Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.

  9. Part 3 of 3:

“Now we are seeing these tough measures pay off with the Trump administration signing a phase-one trade agreement with China today,” Mr. Portman wrote in Barron’s. “This is a good first step toward bringing equity, durability, and balance to the economic relationship between the world’s two largest economies.”

There is plenty of skepticism in the U.S. that China will live up to its part of the bargain. Farmers for Free Trade co-Executive Director Brian Kuehl called on the administration to eliminate tariffs.

“We need government to get out of the way and let us go back to work,” Mr. Kuehl said. “The pain has been long-term and we have yet to see the gain. Now is not the time for airy promises and splashy signing ceremonies — now is the time for iron-clad commitments and follow-through. We believe that the only way to boost U.S. ag exports to China in a sustainable fashion is to end the trade war and get back to doing what we do best — growing the safest, highest quality food at the most affordable prices.”

“The overall signal from the phase one agreement is much larger than the content of the deal itself,” Wei Jianguo, a former Chinese vice commerce minister, told the Global Times, the Chinese state-run newspaper.

“It is a boon for the world that the world’s largest and second-largest economies have hit the pause key in the trade war.”

Among those in the audience was former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who served under President Richard M. Nixon when he made a breakthrough diplomatic overture to communist China in 1972.

The U.S. agreed to remove its label on China as a currency manipulator, a designation that could have led to more tariffs. The president said there are “strong restrictions” on China devaluing its currency in the deal.

Mr. Trump decided to wave off tariffs that would have hit nearly $160 billion in Chinese goods — including electronics and other popular items — on Dec. 15.
Existing tariffs on $250 billion in goods remain, while levies on another $110 billion will be reduced from 15% to 7.5% under the deal.

“We’re leaving tariffs on,” Mr. Trump said. “I will agree to take those tariffs off if we agree to do Phase Two. I’m leaving them on, because otherwise we have no cards to negotiate with.”

Democrats say the deal falls short because it doesn’t address Chinese mass subsidization of its domestic industries or preferential treatment to state-owned enterprises, or SOEs.

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer accused Mr. Trump of accepting a lackluster deal because he wanted to tout an achievement before the 2020 election.

Mr. Trump, however, says he secured major concessions in the initial stage and that he will be well-positioned to demand much more in “phase two” if he wins a second term in November.
