President Trump’s reelection campaign said Thursday it raised $46 million during the last quarter of 2019, marking its best-ever haul despite impeachment fervor.
It starts the year flush with cash — nearly $103 million on hand — as Democrats kick off their nomination battle in Iowa in about a month.
The quarterly amount is money raised by the Trump campaign alone and doesn’t include funds from the Republican National Committee or any authorized joint fundraising committees.
Campaign manager Brad Parscale said the impressive fundraising is a “testament” to Mr. Trump’s grassroots appeal and record in office.
“Democrats and the media have been in a sham impeachment frenzy, and the president’s campaign only got bigger and stronger with our best fundraising quarter this cycle,” he said. “The president’s war chest and grassroots army make his reelection campaign an unstoppable juggernaut.”
The Trump campaign began the year with $19.3 million on hand. It raised $143 million and banked $83.4 million.
Its total of $102.7 million compares favorably with the $81.8 million President Barack Obama had on hand at the start of his reelection bid at the close of 2011, according to Reuters.
Democrats battling to take on Mr. Trump in November are releasing their own fundraising numbers.
Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont raised more than $34.5 million in the fourth quarter.
Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, raised $24.7 million and surprise challenger Andrew Yang raised more than $16.5 million.
None of the Democratic contenders publicly released their cash-on-hand totals, which will be part of the year-end fundraising reports they’ll have to disclose to the Federal Election Commission later this month.

One of the men identified by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as a leader of the Iran-backed siege of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was welcomed to the White House in 2011 by President Barack Obama.
Hadi al-Amiri was photographed outside the U.S. Embassy during the siege and was singled out by Mr. Pompeo as an Iranian “proxy” abetting terrorists who stormed the embassy walls and set fires.
In December 2011, Mr. Amiri was serving as Iraq’s minister of transport when he attended a meeting in the Oval Office with Mr. Obama, the Daily Mail reported. He was with then-Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Mr. Amiri is a former commander of the Badr Corps militia, which was funded by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
At the time that Mr. Obama hosted the meeting, then-Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of the House Foreign Affairs Committee expressed outrage that the president would allow Mr. Amiri into the White House. He was suspected at the time of a link to the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 U.S. Air Force personnel.
Ms. Ros-Lehtinen, Florida Republican, told The Washington Times in 2011 that it was “extremely disturbing that the White House would see fit to welcome al-Amiri to a discussion on the future of Iraq.”
“If anything, he should be subject to questioning by the FBI and other appropriate U.S. law enforcement and counterterrorism agencies,” she said at the time. “The victims of Khobar Towers and the families of thousands of U.S. troops who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq deserve no less.”
The truck bombing was later blamed on Iran and Hezbollah.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe admitted he misled investigators about his role in a media leak and apologized for it, according to transcripts of his interviews with investigators released Thursday.
The transcripts were released by the Justice Department’s inspector general in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
An unidentified FBI investigator detailed his frustration with Mr. McCabe over the time he spent investigating the leak, only to discover the leak came from the former deputy director himself, according to the transcripts. Mr. McCabe had repeatedly denied he was the source of the leak, but later confessed and apologized when the investigator confronted him, the transcripts said.
“I remember saying to him, ‘Sir, you understand that we’ve put a lot of work into this based on what you told us,’” the agent said. “I mean, and I even said, long nights and weekends working on this trying to find out who amongst your ranks of trusted people would, would do something like that. And [Mr. McCabe] kind of just looked down, kind of nodded and said, ‘Yeah, I’m sorry.’”
Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz last year concluded Mr. McCabe “lacked candor” with investigators probing a leak to The Wall Street Journal that revealed the FBI was looking into Hilary Clinton’s emails and the Clinton Foundation.
The Justice Department fired Mr. McCabe in the spring of 2018, citing Mr. Horowitz’s conclusions. Mr. McCabe is suing the Justice Department for wrongful termination, alleging President Trump ordered his firing.
When FBI investigators confronted Mr. McCabe about the leak, he denied authorizing the disclosure to the Journal. He also presented himself as a “victim,” according to the agent who conducted the interview.
After investigators received “conflicting information” on whether he ordered the leak, Mr. McCabe confessed in a follow-up interview, the transcripts said.
“I need to know from you did you authorize this article? Were you aware of it? Did you authorize it?” the investigator said he asked Mr. McCabe. “And as nice as could be, he said, ‘Yep. Yep, I did.’”
The investigator said he was surprised by Mr. McCabe’s revelation and it changed the probe by “180 degrees.”
When investigators showed the former No. 2 official at the FBI his statement from an earlier interview in which he said he did not know the leaker’s identity, Mr. McCabe appeared surprised and said he “didn’t ever remember seeing this before.”
“I told him, I said we sent it to you at least three times or two times,” the agent said. Mr. McCabe responded, “There was a lot going on.”
The U.S. Attorney in D.C. is currently mulling criminal charges against Mr. McCabe based on Mr. Howoritz’s conclusions. His attorneys have denied any wrongdoing. Mr. McCabe said he would refuse to accept a plea deal.

I have been reading a number of military fighter planes are on their was to the Middle East. Some have said they are releasing the Kraken. I don't know much about about the Kraken but it apparently a fear of god sort of weapon. France is playing games and stated they did not want us landing at their bases. That,is okay. We don't need them anyway. I just hope France doesn't come asking for our help anytime soon.
