‘The Senate Is On Trial’: Jerry Nadler Says The Impeachment Is No Longer Just About The President
Democratic New York Rep. Jerry Nadler claimed that the Senate would be on trial along with President Donald Trump.
Nadler made the comment during House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Wednesday morning press conference, where he was named as one of seven impeachment managers. (RELATED: Patriots Impeachment Weekly Wrap-Up: What, No Bribery?)
Speaker Pelosi took aim at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell during a brief question-and-answer period following her announcement, saying, “Let me just say, I was very discouraged to see Mitch McConnell sign on to a resolution dismissing the case. Dismissal is cover-up. Dismissal is cover-up.”
Nadler added that the impeachment, from this point forward, would be “a test of the Constitution” and claiming that “the president’s conduct violates the Constitution in every single way.”
Nadler concluded by arguing that if the Senate failed to present a trial that met all of the House’s demands, that would be “an unconstitutional and disgusting cover-up.”
“The Senate is on trial as well as the president,” he insisted. “Does the Senate conduct a trial according to the Constitution, to vindicate the republic? Or does the Senate participate in the president’s crimes by covering them up?”

DeleteEvery day I can read a story about some moron. Yesterday on Fox it was a story about the Minnesota Teacher of the Year kneeling during the National Anthem at the LSU/Clemson slaughter. This teacher states she was exercising her 1st Amendment Right of Free Speech. This right concerns government actions/prohibitions. It doesn't protect one from backlash on social media, ones employer, relatives, neighbors etc. She insinuated she was allowed to kneel and no one could criticize her disrespectful act. No wonder a large portion of this country doesn't understand the real world. The First Amendment protects us from government actions. Why is that hard to comprehend?

Audiences, waiting to be conned out of their money and sanity, would sigh in sympathy and then write checks to stop "climate change." The lefty internet rag Vox is reporting on a proposal being pushed by the Harvard Law Review that would separate the parts of Washington, D.C. on which federal buildings sit from the rest of the district. The remainder of D.C. and its neighborhoods would be divided into 127 new entities that would be designated as states and admitted to the union.

By packing the union, which is how Harvard Law Review couches its proposal, that pesky method of getting recalcitrant conservative states to give up their rights via constitutional amendments to end the Electoral College and remake the Senate will be much simpler. After all, D.C. is populated by criminal politicians, criminal/crony lobbyists and socialist minded big government loving minorities. Vox wants to go even further. It's advocating for 150 new states carved out of D.C. It'd then be much easier to get a constitutional amendment passed — which requires ratification by two-thirds of both Houses of Congress and three-fourths of the states.
But the article is fake news because it begins with a false premise. It's lede is, "American democracy is broken."
American is not a democracy and the Founders deliberately avoided making it one.
The Founders created a Republic. It is a representative form of government and was not meant to be "democratic." While each state gets a number of representatives according to population, there are only two senators for each state regardless of population. Again, this was by design.

Trump just delayed the funds from their original time of release for 58 days, finally releasing them on September 11. He didn't withhold the funds since they were released before the end of FY2019.
