Unless you can convince me otherwise, once this particular blog has run it's course I plan to shut down the anonymous option all together.
If you feel this is unfair and want to file an official complaint you can do so by speaking directly to the Complaint Department Manager, Still Safe At Home.
Good luck, depending on the day of the week and what kind of a mood he's in, he's usually a bigger asshole than I've ever dreamed of being.

It's your blog, do whatever you want. If anonymous wants to he can set up a fake gmail account. Not hard to do, but he may be lazy. You can buy a virtual phone number or even get a free one in some places. That is all you need to get and verify an account. I don't know if you can see IP address on blogger to tell anonymous posters apart, I was able to see IP address on people who posted on topekaforumeers. However, IP doesn't mean all that much, if I want to, I can have an IP address with 3 hops around foreign countries and it would look like I was in France and the next minute it would say I was in China.

Its not going to hurt those fake posters one bit. If they cant figure out how to get a google account then that's their problem. And if the phony doc is so worried that some one might post his name and place of work, then he shouldn't be on any blogs posting. And don't think you can hide behind your phony name either. There are lots of ways to bring you in to public view. I see nothing wrong with doing this. Let it roll and to bad for any fake posters that get all butt hurt about it. I'm somewhat conflicted about this Syrian strike. On the one hand, I know that Assad is a murderous dictator, that deserves anything bad that he is given. I feel sorry for the victims of the gas attacks, no matter who did it, but we certainly do not need to get involved in another long-term conflict that has no significant benefit to the U.S.! Not quite sure why Trump decided to basically put out there, before the gas attack, that he was ready to pull troops out of Syria, or why he decided to state out-right, in effect, that "the missiles were coming" to Assad, Russian and Iran.
ReplyDeleteIf we have learned anything over the years, it should be that before you go into anything, you must have a goal in mind and how it could possibly come back to haunt us, what is the "exit" strategy, and what signifies that the goal has been reached that determines that it is time to get out.
This is another one of those cases of "damned if you do, and damned if you don't", in my opinion.
I still support Trump, even on this, hoping that he has the right information to do the "right" thing. I just hope he has not been played by both parties on this, where it seems that many of them, both Dem and Repub. seem to be so willing to get into another war.

With the civil war in Syria more or less winding down I can't imagine why Assad would even need to resort to chemical weapons, especially just days after announcing his intentions to pull out of that shithole.

I think the poisoning may to be a message to others as they made it pretty plain who done it. Left a trail. As for Putin I am wondering if he isn't helping to get rid of Ass Hole.
